Half Price Books

I do like this place. It had an amazing selection of new but mostly second hand books. Well-kept store, friendly staff, and great prices.

Cons: I sold them like 30 books, all in like-new condition, and I got $2.86. I couldn't even buy one book for the price of those 30 books. I understand how their system for buying works, but seriously. Should at least be a minimum of $5, like "hey, thanks for giving us more inventory to possibly be able to sell across the country in any of our stores, here's a bare minimum voucher so you can take at least 1 book back out of our inventory...."

Anyways, I will be back, but not to ever sell. I just wanted them in a better place than my basement.

This is a pretty decent used book store, and well worth a visit. It's in the Cherry Grove strip mall near the Kroger, jammed next to a few discount stores, and looks pretty tacky from the outside. But it's well worth a visit, for me. The place is huge and was well staffed with a large and very well organized collection. As you enter on the left, they have their more expensive offerings, older and collectibles, sets, some in a locked case. The main section is row after row of author-alphabetized and thematically separated more recent books, and here you could truly browse for hours. If they sold coffee here and had some chairs, I might just move in.
On the right side of the store they have their video selections, DVDs and Blu Rays, alphabetized by title, with separate areas for movies and TV series. Better than wasting time online - find it there. A good number are new and sealed - I suppose folks buy stuff, never view, then sell it to these guys.
Go in, you're sure to find things you'll want!

Extensive collection of bestsellers, collector's editions, lightly used textbooks, and buried treasures - begging for you to discover them! Awesome ambiance and laid back, knowledgeable and helpful staff, even board games, gaming platforms, vinyl, cds, and dvds are in stock... Overall giving you a nostalgic feel of the late '90's record store, (call me bias for those days of in-person, one-on-one contact with your music were preferable.) An all-encompassing, time shifting, multimedia experience - thoroughly enjoyable!

This is one of the better Half Price Books in town, but I wish it wasn't so damn far away for me. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Selection is good, and pricing is more fair than at some of the other local HPB stores — by which I mean they actually sell much of the stuff I'm looking for at half its price like the name suggests rather than deciding that it's a rare piece and randomly slapping a $40 tag on it.

HUGE selection of used music, books and games. Very Well organized.

If you Know what game you want, they probably have it. Everything is taped up, so if you're not familiar with the game, it's kind of hard to select one without being able to see the instructions.

We came in last minute for a couple of new additions. With just 15 minutes until closing, staff was still helpful and not hurried. We were quick and made sure not to keep them from closing on time, but it was nice to find good, friendly service.

I stumbled across this gem as I was deliver a load to a Lumber Liquidators near by. While the forklift driver was unloading me I walked over and was able to take about 30 to explore their vast selection. Everything was well organized into genre with each genre carefully organized into subsections by author’s last name. I found a book I had been searching for for months and wasn’t able to locate anywhere else as well as others I hadn’t been. The only down side is that I live in North Carolina and probably won’t get back anytime soon unless it’s on purpose..

I love browsing the shelves for something new to read, and also second hand puzzles! It's a great compromise between using the library and paying full price for books. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Store is very clean and orderly. Employees were helpful. Enjoyed browsing.

It was nice to walk around. My 1st time there. The CLEARANCE is all the way in the back BY the bathrooms. At least they put it where people might go to.

It's almost impossible for me to go into a bookstore and not have a fabulous time (though my bank account might disagree)! This Half Price Books was no exception. It was organized, clean, and the staff were very nice.

This location is clean and well organized. The books seem priced fairly. There are actually quite a few new releases of children's graphic novels and chapter books. My kids were able to find several they liked. I do wish there were letters on the alphabetical sorting for books so it would be easier to search by author. But they are placed in order, so you can find what you need. The paperback and hard covers are separate which was confusing to me at first. Great place to buy books!

Do you need to make $$? You can bring your unwanted paperback, hardback, or audio books, magazines, board games, video games, gaming system, gaming system accessories, electronics, DVD, CDs, Blu-ray discs, vinyl. They accept it all they will either give you the option of cash in hand or in-store credit at a higher denomination than you would get cash in hand. If you're an Avid Reader gamer music lover, Etc, this is the place for you. Don't miss out on this gem. I promise you won't be sorry.

Half Price books was an amazing little find in my neighborhood. I've been looking for a certain book and when I arrived to ask for it the lady said she hasn't been able to get a copy but she found one and it even an imported first edition. Thanks half price books.
