Adorable shop with delicious pastries. I went around 7:30am (it opens at 3!) and there was a decent selection left. Pastries are on the smaller side--which I prefer. And the prices are very reasonable.

Cookie Jar made decorative sugar cookies and chocolate cake for my daughters engagement party! The cookies were amazing and the chocolate cake was to die for! They were so attentive to my wants!! I sent them a picture and they produced exactly how I wanted it!! Thank you!!

We stop by this wonderful little bakery Wednesday thru Friday mornings to grab a donut before school. Always several delicious options.

Great Cookies! I also enjoyed an eclair, it too was very good. This place is like walking back in time, it feels like it is the 1930s inside. Great place to pick up some sweets.

Such a great place to visit. My daughter and I go weekly for great donuts, friendly smiles, and to see the oldest bakery in Newport.

Donuts were amazing and the lady working there was very sweet. Definitely would recommend over places like dunking and Krispy Kreme. This place is pretty cheap too.

This bakery has been around so long, its an institution. Their goodies all appear to be made from scratch and have an old time look and are absolutely delicious. Their blueberry coffee cake is the best I have ever had. I mean, it is so good, that it is worth a drive to go get. Go early if you want to get anything though- it goes quick!

I consider myself a Macadamia cookie aficionado. Let me just tell you, that this bakery's cookies rocked my socks off. 10/10

Legit!!! Old school donuts and pastries. Try the eclairs the custard to pastry ratio is perfection. Go get a hipster coffee somewhere and then get your pastries here! Newport gem for sure. Dunk an old school cake donut in your five dollar cappuccino. Trust me. Love!!!

Worth it. Pleasant people, great food. I stopped in for donuts for work and found them to be done if the best donuts I've had. I've not seen the weird, "internet famous" flavors (think fruity pebbles, bacon and chocolate, etc.) but what they put out is excellent.

The Best and Delicious Doughnuts. The Best time to get those Delicious Doughnuts is around 3 o'clock am in the morning when they opened up.

Happy New Year!! I can't believe working in Newport after 10 years I just found this amazing lil bite of Heaven! Truly a coincidence how I came upon them.but you can bet I'll be back!! I can't write a better review without taking up space for the entire new year!! Charming,hospitality plus,delicious ,quality,and beautifully designed and packaged!! My go to personally and professionally!!

Been going to this same bakery since as far back as i can remember as a kid. Love it and now my children all have memories as i do of going here to get fresh donuts on Saturday morning before we hit the yard sales.

The cookie jar is a must visit in Newport Kentucky located at 919 Monmouth. Hardwood floors glass enclosed. Homemade from scratch. The original kitchen tools used back in the day. Very interesting article on Google if you like history. 4th generation of bakers.
