Villa Pinar Cuban Cafeteria

New to this area of the State and always looking for good Cuban food. I came across this cafeteria and dropped in to check it out 9am on a Sunday morning.

My first impression when I walked in was authentic. There is Cuban themed artwork all over the place, most of it oil paintings. The dining room is large, and everything is clean and organized. There is a large wall mounted menu with traditional items dominating the line up, and they also have cooked food in a “cantina” style that you can order from as well. They had whole fried fish, rice and several other items. Everything looked amazing. I was out riding my motorcycle so I was unable to take food to go, but I sure would have if I had been in a car.

I ordered cafe con leche and two pastelitos. It was fabulous. I would have liked the pastelito dough cooked a little more but the guava filling was on point. Everything seems genuine and authentic.

The only thing lacking was a friendly and family feel to the experience. The one employee I interacted seemed guarded and withdrawn, but that may have been her personality. When I engaged her, she responded in a friendly way. The people eating at the two other tables were similarly guarded and never made contact or replied to my greeting of Buenos Días!, even though they were speaking Spanish amongst themselves and clearly understood me. This may have been an isolated, unusual situation, because everything else feels so right. I will definitely be back.

The food and sandwich was delicious! The sandwich did take longer as they make it by order compared to the rice plates, but not a long wait, just mentioning it so keep in mind if you have a party that will eat rice and sandwiches. The price is comparable if anything we paid less and got more food than at other similar places we’ve been too. The sandwich personally was more than enough, I had to take the other half home! Service was friendly and location was clean as well. Would definitely recommend. Didn’t get to taste everything they offered so we will need to go back:)
Located in a plaza so there is plenty of parking space. They have tables inside if you want to dine in as well.

The food here is awesome... Their lunch plate specials are incredible... The coffee is fantastic.

The guy at the front desk was hilarious.

Food was delicious, very friendly owner and staff.

I came for the Cuban sandwich and stayed for all the other foods. Finally a Cuban done right. Portions were huge, quality was great and the amount of ingredients in the sandwich was perfect. The oxtail was phenomenal, tender fall from the bone and succulent. Shredded beef delicious and is a favorite from here. The steak sandwich was on point and not too smothered in any one ingredients.

The guava and cheese pastry was awesome along with the Cuban Coffee. This will be a new spot for me to go anytime I'm in town.

Great food, nice people!! They give you very large portions, even the empanadas and pastries are big. Everything is very fresh and the people here are friendly and clean! I would eat here any day of the week!!

I love good cuban sandwiches and Villa Pinar did not disappoint. The staff here were supper friendly and the food is excellent for a fair price. It looked so appetizing we even grabbed som extra take out for supper! Highly recommended.

I do love me a good Cuban Sandwich and I’ve had a few good ones, a few not so good but TODAY 9/7/23 I had the BEST ONE IVE EVER HAD. Now it was our first time in the place but it won’t be the last. I must say this was the very best all the way around. Service, friendly and real good food.
Try em. If you don’t like what you get there you pay for it. If you like what you get there you pay for that too. If you want you can go ahead and pay for my next Cuban Sandwich too if you want to.

Omg absolutely delicious!! Every bite. My husband and I got their Cubans.. all I can say is .. we’ll be back!! Soo soo good ! Huge portions too. Absolutely delicious 🤤 my new craving

Awesome little gem of a place with amazing food and staff. One of my absolute favorite places for rice and beans. I know that might sound trivial, but that just shows you how dedicated they are to their menu. This place is an absolute favorite of my mom and I, in which we frequent, especially for Sunday lunch. Amazing restaurant that is consistently great.

Our first time at this restaurant and sampling authentic Cuban cuisine. Absolutely delicious, we will definitely be making return trips here. Plus the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Food is great hot and fresh all the time good price difference type of drinks and natural drinks and a delicious hot coffee and many type of sandwich hot and fresh very recommended this restaurant staff is very respectful and store super clean GOD BLESS

Villa Pinar serves only the best quality and best tasting rice and bean dishes anywhere in Marion, Sumter or Lake counties. Ditto for their Cuban sandwiches and pizza you will not be disappointed and the price can’t be beat.

We are from Kansas and out here for the first time visiting some friends and decided to stop in and try it. Never had Cuban food before and it was amazing. I had the shredded beef with onions and peppers on yellow rice with some fries plantains and my wife had pork shoulder on yellow rice with fries plantains and a questio. It was all delicious we will probably have to find a Cuban place back home. The server was also amazing, she picked out our food for us since we didn't know what to try. Next time we are here we will definitely try again.

Excellent food, very clean restaurant, great service and a fair price. What else could you ask for. You won't be disappointed with this place.

Food was amazing. Sandwiches were big in size, and they used fresh ingredients. Empanada stuffed with a great amount of meat and juicy- not dry. delicious Shake- was a perfect combination of fruit and not an overload of sugar. The guava and cheese dessert frsh and also very delicious. 10 out of 10. The service is the only complaint i have. The lady was not welcoming. We arrived at 520p they close at 6pm and we were told we cannot dine in forced to take out. Left my empanada and dessert on the counter instead of handing it to us. Walked away to shelve sodas. If the service was better i would give this 5 out of 5. Order ahead to go maybe and avoid the dry service.

Great food with a real family run restaurant. This gem of a find is just 11 min from interstate in small strip mall. It's worth the time to stop. I had the cuban sandwich and my wife had the han and cheese. They had a hot lunch too with many items to choose from. The pastries are great.

Excellent little gem! Got a plate of four-hour cooked pork, seasoned rice, plantains, and beans. Sooo good and so much!! My kids are all my food while waiting for their Cuban sandwiches, which were awesome!

Absolutely the best food for the money. Great staff. We completely enjoyed it and will recommend this hidden gem to everyone.
