Our evening visit was amazing and full of beautiful views of the city. The glistening water is home to many geese that float near the shore. The gentle sound of waves flowing in and out is only interrupted by my needy kids. I would suggest limiting family visits to daytime and reserving the nighttime for individuals or couples. Perhaps if it weren’t so cold, we could’ve stayed longer.

Nice park. Right along the river. Great for enjoying some quiet time by the water and also great for getting photos of Cincinnati and the river.

Small little playground with great views of the city. We put our paddle boards in here and paddled across the river. River acces is a little steep but not bad at all. Lots of people fishing as well. Pay attention to GPS cuz it's a pain to get to with out

Geese were plentiful but shockingly not total bullies even with their (adorable!) goslings in tow. I know that’s not controllable by the city but still appreciated. Small area but plentiful parking, benches, a covered picnic area, and a small playground all with a beautiful water front view.

Nice little, quiet green space next to the river, with a beautiful view of downtown Cincinnati.
This charming, little park is surrounded by lots of plants and wildlife.

My friend took me here. I guess to see the river for the first time up close. I think it was a little gift as a birthday memory. I really liked this place. It definitely was a memorable and touching birthday present, that I have gotten from anyone. Just to see the Ohio river up close. I will never forget that magical moment. Thanks General James Taylor Park for making this memorable moment.

Grandson loves the geese and wildlife. Beautiful view of the Cincinnati side and Red's ballpark. Oh! And we can't forget the play area and memorial. It is a shame Newport is sacrificing this beautiful park for money. UPDATE: What Newport has done to this quaint little park is criminal. They took out nearly all of the trees. Some of them hundreds of years old. The playground is unsafe with a steep hill and no barriers keeping your children from falling down the hill into the Licking River. Almost all wildlife except for the geese are gone. All of the wood that the city dumped as well as asphalt was pushed into the river. Word has it they did the same a few years back with the picnic tables and benches at the bottom of the hill below the picnic shelter. The corruption in Newport is as strong today as it was many years ago.

There isn't a lot of parking available and if you don't know where it is, it can be difficult to find without visible signs. That being said.....It's a fantastic walking path going by the river and over to Covington on pedestrian friendly roads.

This is a nice little park along the Licking River in Covington right before it flows into the Ohio River. There's a shelter for picnics or whatever and this place has a great view of downtown Cincinnati. It's very quiet and was clean when I visited.

I've been coming here for years. Most recently to fish and look at the rivers. It's not a huge park but it is nice for its size.

Comfortable place to go for a walk. It is very quite down there. It's a nicer place in covington.. my daughter and I will usually get dinner and go sit and look at the river from the benches. There are beautiful mansions nearby and pieces and facts about history.

A staple for every Newportian. Kids love climbing the rock wall. Ducks and geese are typically annoying and aggressive but it's to be expected. If you have your fishing license it's great fun to toss a line in the river and what you catch is anyone's guess! The view is spectacular. The atmosphere serene. I don't think I will ever grow too old for or tired if James Taylor Park.
