Lantana Scrub Natural Area

A very nice and relaxing preserve in our area. Not an amusement park, but just natural south Florida setting to preserve our unique landscape. Enjoy the peace and nature here.

nice walk along hiking trail 0.5 miles, can also walk on sandy maintenance roads. Saw a Gopher tortoise and a snake. 5 parking spaces available

Could not find public access point. Nice looking natural area though with some visible trails.

So, the address google brings you to is NOT the entrance for the park. We looked for 30 minutes driving around to see if there even was an entrance. THERE IS. But it's not marked and you'd never see it if you werent activly looking for it. It's right in the parking lot of the police station, in the corner of the road. This needs to be better marked. You can't even tell there is an entrance there.

I'm posting a review to try and clear up some confusion. The other reviews and photos posted here are almost certainly for a different location, the Lantana Nature Preserve at 440 E Ocean Ave, Lantana, FL 33462. Because THIS Scrub Area, on Andrew Redding Rd, Lantana, North of Lantana Rd, near the Health Unit, has NO public access, no marked or paved trails, no seating, bathrooms or signage. The only parking is at the neighboring Health Center, but there's not even a gate you can open or stile you can climb. The County says it must remain like this while there are no funds to make it accessible to all. Such a shame.
