Great afternoon to hike at the Withrow Nature Preserve and observe the new green coming out. Some wildflowers were blooming along with some planted Daffodils courtesy of someone in the distant past. I like being able to see through the trees before the leaves come out. This is a very nice preserve with a couple of miles nicely laid out trails.

An absolutely lovely walk. My family of 6 enjoyed the trails in April when the variety of wildflowers and trees were in bloom. The trail was nice and smooth, even for our 6-year-old. The Ohio River overlook is worth the walk. There are benches to just rest and enjoy the scenery. There is also a lovely place with seating for an outdoor wedding by the house. I highly recommend a visit.

First time hiking the trails at this park/nature preserve. Had a great time with my family (kids between 9 mo and 7 yrs). Plenty of space on the trails or spots to step aside, if crossing paths, to social distance. The field trail had tons of flowers and pollinators flying around to spend a good 15 minutes teaching the kids. 90% of the trail is shaded under the tree canopy except for the field where depending on the time of day (morning or evening) you might get good shade on one side. Definitely will come back to check out the other part of the trail and have another adventure with the kids. Appeared well maintained.

Such a beautiful view! We loved renting the Highwood Lodge for my daughters 3rd birthday. All of the guests raved about how beautiful the house is.

Absolute serenity! What a hidden gem. So many things to see. Check out the awesome metasequoia near the entrance.
Some trees of overturned revealing the most amazing root artwork.

This place is gorgeous. I didn't get the chance to walk along the trail, but the wedding ceremony space is perfect for an outdoor wedding.

Beautiful little trail. Not too hilly, but it does require some attention to footwork. We found so many species of mushrooms it was great!

Awesome park with a good trail, no facilities so bring water etc. with you. The Redwood tree was a great find.

Nice trail. Overlook isn’t very visible in the summer with all the overgrowth.

Beautiful! The wildflowers are so pretty throughout the entire length of the trail. On the loop is a nice seating area to lookout over the Ohio River. I went on a Thursday evening and it wasn't crowded. The wooded area was very shaded with a nice breeze. I saw a mother with two toddlers and they didn't appear to have any trouble making their way through the woods. I'd definitely recommend this trail... its easy to find, clean, and beautiful.

We walked the dogs on the lily trout nature trail. I think it was about 1.6 miles. It was a well maintained trail. It had a lookout over the river. A little hard to see the view in the summer but I'm sure very pretty once some of the leaves are down. The park had a portalet available if needed.
