It's free! It's so cool you can dig for fossils and shark's teeth outside but bring a shovel. You could actually bring a metal shovel if you want but the kids had plastic ones or a stick to get down deeper so you can get some good teeth. Inside the museums are really cool. There's a red rail car you can walk into. It's a little stuffy but it's cool to be able to see the inside of a train. Definitely wanting to go back and even for adults if you're into like sharks teeth and fossils it's just a really cool experience just to dig in that huge pile of stone. I could have added more pictures but that would take away some of the interest in going and seeing it in person!!

Friendly lady who answered any questions we had.

Nice lay out of 3 different rooms.
Enjoyed the local history of Mulberry!
Our little boys enjoyed the train car! That was a fun touch.

Of course the highlight for the boys was digging for shark teeth!

Very nice little town museum. Easy parking. Clean restrooms. So glad we added it to our weekend!

What an outstanding Museum for the young and old alike. My Grandson and I visited today and had a blast exploring the various fossils and artifacts in the museum. Digging and sifting through the gravel looking for shark teeth and fossils is a lot of fun. Bonnie met us at the door and gave a very nice tour of the facility. There is definitely an upcoming return trip in the book. Kudos!

Free museum in an old train station and train cars, full of fossils, bones, and other interesting displays. History of Phosphate mines. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. And a pile of stones and fossils to dig through, too. Bring a hand shovel !

Go see the locally discovered fossils and various bugs / butterfly specimen. Learn the history of the train station and the museum contents. Then, find your own marine fossils while excavating in the pile outdoors. Bring a lunch, excavating tools, and enjoy your day. If you forget lunch, go to McDonald's on the hill. I have visited there for more than 20 years.

We always have an excellent time as a family and this time we brought our Girl Scout Troop! They did a tour of the museum, shark teeth hunting in the pit and then walked over to the Cultural center to do an art project + view the gallery!

Very nice little museum near city hall. The two women working there were very nice. A lot of history, information, and a place for kids to dig for special rocks or shark teeth. My one year old loves it. :)

Fun for my 5, 6, and 7 year old boys. We enjoyed looking at fossils and digging for shark teeth. They each left with a few!! Laid back atmosphere, self-guided, and free! Sharks, dinosaurs, and trains, perfect afternoon.

This place is small but packs a big punch with all the information you can learn from a tour. The tour guide was friendly and thorough with many interesting facts about phosphate and the city of Mulberry. There are clean restrooms to wash up after your dig. After the tour, we walked through an old train and saw some more antique items used back in the day, then we ate lunch. (It is advised to bring your own food and drinks or go across the street to McDonald's) then we're able to dig for fossils and shark teeth at an on-site area set up right outside their building for as long as you want. Wear comfortable clothes & shoes as you will get dirty. Bring your own gloves, shovel, sifter & container to put your findings in to take home anything you find as souvenirs, and show off to your friends & family. It is an all-day amazing experience for young and old !!!
