Pitt Grill - Alexandria

Excellent French toast with a side of 2 eggs. Phenomenal coffee. Old-time cafe atmosphere. My waitress was cheerful and excellent.

My word we had a great experience! The staff was so fun and friendly! The food was delicious, and the meal was so big that my husband and I were able to split it with our appetizer. I grew up going to the Pit Grill when my family and I visited Louisiana, and I have to say it was just as good as I remember as an adult.

We were craving Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches, and instead of grub hubbing it, decided to dine in person....its been a very long time for me and I was not disappointed! Hands down, it was the best Philly I've had locally....the bread....omg the bread! It was what we were craving. The steakhouse style sweet potato fries we crisp but soft on the inside....a lot of places can't seem to get this right...i cant say enough.

There is a 10% gratuity figured in and you have to pay first....but do not let this dissuade you....its well worth it...this is unfortunately a necessity these days...

Our server, "Rho," was very personable and attentive....the atmosphere was authentic, and the people were real. Culturally diverse and welcoming....its the kind of place where, no matter what you look like or what your status is, if you want to belong there, you will!

The Coffee....its nothing fancy but its absolutely perfect....if you are craving that down home rich Louisiana cup of coffee in the kind of coffee mug you just cant find any more, this is the place!

Also...TIP your servers because it goes directly into their pockets, unlike a lot of places!!

I plan to become a regular ...hope to see you there! Also, the busy times widget for google maps was very accurate...the widget said the restaurant was not overly busy and it was accurate....the atmosphere was just right for my liking based on this information.... intimate privacy but with the comforting feeling of having others around.

Do not overlook the Pitt Grill!

Once a national chain, this location is now half of what remains. I gave it 5 for atmosphere knowing MANY will disagree but it is a step back in time. Not my first visit btw (I've stayed at nearby hotels a few times) and I've never had a problem with the food (but I didn't go to UL.)

I had the Pecan Waffle, but I was torn between that and the fried steak and eggs. Saw the latter come out, and it looked very good. Will be in Alexandria in May and will probably eat here then.

The Burger and sweet bun combination was wo derful and the onion rings were delicious also. Service was great. Wish I could come here again but too far a drive from Ohio. I highly reco.mend goi g there for lunch!

you want cold coffee go to mickey D's and order a caramel frappe no whiped cream xtra drizzle. thing's got ICE CREAM. how'd we reach adulthood without them?

we had Daddy pulling up at the DQ, and everybody's hollering they want like shakes sodas , cookies, banana split, Daddy pulls up at the window be all like

"i'll have 7 dip-cones"

then he'd turn around and just look at everybody, and we be all like

the pitt's reasonably priced, and i love the food. Ms Audrey's coffee is better than mine. i've never gotten bad food here, and i've been eating there since i was a kid. ms Denise has them cook everything well-done...the cook still says "order up", diggit hippies. i have an Alexa routine...when an appliance beeps, Alexa says "order up!"

i love a hamburger that's decorated properly. try the bacon gouda burger...sourdough bun omg so good.

We had great service and the eggs in a whole with pan bread and the the patty melt and onion rings were all excellent!

I always make it a priority to eat at the Pitt Grill whenever i'm in town. The food is excellent and the customers are treated just like family.

Stopped here as a pit stop on our way to New Orleans. The shrimp and catfish po-boys were huge and delicious!! And those onion straws were amazing!!

Loved the Catfish & Shrimp Special I have with Mrs. Shirley and her breakfast, the sweetest woman I know in Alexandria. She and my husband both had omelettes breakfasts. The food was good and plenty. Thanks Neka, our waitress.

I enjoy dining at this Pitt Grill, the owner is an outstanding lady and knows how to manage her restaurant. She’s well respected by her waitresses and she treats them like they are her grandchildren. The waitresses are very friendly and they are all very attractive young women. The breakfast I ordered was cooked to perfection and very delicious. The environment makes you feel like you’re in good hands and being served by family. I will definitely be going back for more good food.

Staff was exceptional even though they were short staffed. Food was outstanding.

This is a criminally underrated breakfast joint, A+ biscuits and perfect hashbrowns. Try the breakfast pile.

The food was great. And the waitress was even Better!!

The foo was delicious, our waitress Brandie was very pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. This stop was one of highlights of our Sisters trip. We will definitely be back. Way to go Pit Stop Grill!!
