Hofbräuhaus - Newport

Highly recommend this post! Not sure I would call it a chain - only 3 locations in the US with this one being in Newport KY. I’ve been to one other in Pittsburgh. Well known for their live music and liter pours of draft beer. Their German food is delicious and they have delicious pretzels as appetizers with their beer cheese. A great atmosphere to bring your visitors. A great spot to get your beer fix. $14 liters, $7 half liters of draft beer. Meals ranged from $19-22

Came here for dinner the other night and it was an AMAZING experience! I would definitely come back here again next time I visit the area!

Food: I got the Hofbräuhaus Hot Brown and my friend got the Munich Sampler. Both were very tasty, but our favorite part of the meal was the Potato Soup. It was the best and most hearty soup I've ever had! It was SO GOOD that we ordered some soup to take back to eat later! The soup was so creamy and delicious. It resemble clam chowder without the clam, and it was better than any chowder or soup I've ever consumed. If you get anything from this review 👏 ORDER 👏 THE 👏 POTATO 👏 SOUP! 🥔

Service: Amazing waitress with very good recommendations. She knew the menu like the back of her hand! She had several people to wait, but she was so attentive.

Atmosphere: There was wonderful live music playing and it was an excellent experience. The restaurant was very lively and the decor was great. Loved the seating options and how cozy it was (even when the restaurant was pretty large).

Note: If you are not a fan of lively places and loud sounds, this may not be a good place to visit. If that's the case, definitely get some takeout from here!!

Went on a Saturday night and parked in the restaurant paid lot. Easy to get in and out. I got the Munich sampler which had a little of everything and was delicious. The bar was opened while we waited. We sat in the section behind the live music, but could still hear it and have a conversation. Beer cheese was better than most local places and pretzels were also very good!

Such a great place. First time here. Food was amazing and the beers were delightful. We tried the pretzels with bier cheese, the brats and other sausages. The dunkel and lager is top notch beers. The atmosphere is friendly and the decor is marvelous.

Grab your lederhosen, and head on down to a place with great music and even better food. From fresh giant pretzels to of course German. beer and spirits. Overall a great experience, the waitress forgot about us but apologized later. Sometimes we all have those nights. I'll be back the food is that good. Pro tip: during the summer months sit outside on the patio, you will thank me

Great restaurant!!! Quality is amazing, staff friendly and prompt. Beer choices very good and the food is authentic. Better than my Grandmother!! This is our 4th visit in 4 years and look forward to the next. We ordered 2 extra entrees to go for dinner tonight!!

Our time here was so great! We were immediately greeted and sat! I have never been to a German restaurant before and I enjoyed the culture! There was live music with audience participation! The food was delicious and I loved looking at the decor in the restaurant. We ordered the large pretzel as our appetizer, and I have uploaded pictures of our entrées. 10/10!

Absolutely a blast each time we go. Have been going for about five years now and revisited for Octoberfest 2023 with some coworkers from Germany who also reported a great time. Highly recommended.

Food was amazing. Service was amazing. Atmosphere was amazing. I had a really good experience here. We were a party of 4 and we got the entrees in the photos. I personally got the 3 sausages and those were the best sausages I've ever had. The waitress was always available at the right time. She was there when you needed her but not there when we didn't. I was really impressed because the volume of customers was... voluminous. The atmosphere was the most amazing part of this place. They had a band in the front playing German music. Everything felt alive and jolly. Easily the best experience I had here at Kentucky.

We went tonight (Sunday) two adults one 8 yr old food was really good and our waitress was the best. So glad we found it on our trip.

This is the best German food I've had anywhere, although I haven't been to a lot of German restaurants outside of Indianapolis. And I'm very glad I came all the way out here even though I don't live in this area. It was worth it. It was the Wurst!

Unique atmosphere! Incredible German food and music. Always great service, too! My daughter had the Wurst plate, my husband loved the Munich sampler and I enjoyed the market salad. Loved the pretzels and bier cheese too!

Attended Oktoberfest Zinzinnati...wow, so crowded. Had a beer and went search of a German restaurant. Found Hofbräuhaus and we had a time! Close and cheap parking compared to across the river. Great and cold beer served in huge glass steins. Live german polka music. The service was really good. The atmosphere was just FUN.

The Bauern Schnitzel was good! The Saturday afternoon atmoshere at the bar was filled with nice people, and the band was fun! I'll come dine-in here again sometime.

I love this place. Huge family style seating, fun live music. The food is really good and very fresh tasting. If you're looking for something a little different and fun this is your spot.

Did it again, gobbling food before taking photos! It was too good to wait! Sampler had nice assortment of treats. Bratwurst always a winner, schnitzel sandwich and spaetzle too much to finish. Outdoor space beautiful. Definitely a great choice for our meal in Kentucky. Even the music and atmosphere reminds me of family.

Went for a late lunch today...we both decided to try the fish sandwich w/coleslaw & fries - absolutely delicious!! This was the crispiest, best tasting fish I have enjoyed in years!!! Then the dessert....I admit I'm a bit sorry I offered to split it, cause I ended up wishing I had it all to myself! Wonderful from start to finish, great atmosphere, awesome service!

Best place in town, bier is phenomenal and the food is great. Get the pork shank if they don't run out! We have been coming here for 15 years and it never disappoints. Family friendly, live music!
