Columbus AFB Shoppette

Columbus Air Force base was great. It has been about 10 years since I last visited. I was able to find what I needed. The staff was helpful. The location was a neat. The parking was abundant. The fuel station was great.

The ladies working there are sweet. They work hard too

They've got gas, free air, and a good selection of snacks/drinks.

Good customer service. Pumps close at night and they no longer sell alcohol like they did in the past. You must go that to BX for that.

I was low on gas travelling near the base, and being a lover of visiting new military bases, I decided to go out of my way and head to Columbus AFB to get gas and see the base. The base itself was wonderful and beautiful, but this shoppette was terrible. It was the only place to get gas on base, and none of the pumps were dispensing any. There were no signs saying it was out, and no one was working at the shoppette that day. Barely made it to the closest gas station off base before I ran out.

I know the AF doesn't care about these reviews, but this is just a warning to any travelers who, like me, love to stop at bases they've never been to before: Get gas before you're on base, or have enough to make it off in case they're out.
