Lawton Municipal Court Clerk

The bailiffs were so kind. I've never received a ticket here so needless to say I was pretty nervous. What I wish I would have known before I arrived- if you enter a please of not guilty, even for a traffic ticket, a bond is due. My ticket was 195, my bond was 200 with an added non refundable 35 dollar bond fee for a total of 235. It must be payed in cash. You will also no be given a chance to iron out a plea at your first arraignment, you must pay your bond and you will have that opportunity at your next court date before you decide if you want to take your case to trial.
Edit: I had my pretrial today with the prosecutor. He was rigid with his plea offerings, but fair and more approachable than most sharing his job title. I was mildly upset with the outcome but I appreciate him taking the time to make sure all my questions were answered at length and that I completely aware of my obligations once I left the courtroom. He seems like a pleasant and morally upright prosecutor.

Woman who answered the phone was rude and based on these comments she should probably find a job she enjoys lol

The ladies here all act like they don't want to work and the fact that they are talking to you is too much for them. I called before hand and asked what method of payments I can use so I could be prepared. I even told her what my whole situation was so she could help me. The lady on the phone told me cash and credit card. I was like cool. Then when I get there and go thru the process and ended up with a cash bond. And I see where ''Cash" is the key word but I've never been thru this and thought I was good to go as long as I pay. then I get to the counter with another lady, she restated my total, I pull out my visa and she says cash only. I said I called and ask if u guys take card and you told me yes. They said we do, but not for this. Then they pointed me to their ATM, which is totally rigged to take more money from you. The ATM only gives you a max of $80 and at a $3.75 fee. And I needed to take out $550!. So I started my first of many transactions... and the ATM ran out of money. Needless to say this whole process was ridiculous and unorganized. The ladies here act like everyone should know how to do this process. I'm sorry, but I didn't. And all I'm saying is if they would have told me about the cash only possibility, then i would have brought cash and been done with it. It was dumb.

The lady I dealt with was rude and not helpful at all. I had to drive from out of town to show proof that I had fixed my headlight, and I wasn't able to make it there until 4:40. I had a picture and video on my phone for proof. The officer who had written the citation said that was all that I needed. Upon trying to show the proof, she said it had to be printed out. She refused to accept an email or fax (which I could have done from my phone), and wouldn't let me use a printer. I ran from the courthouse to the library, got a library card, printed it off, and made it back by 4:55. They had already locked the door and would not let me in. Worthless

They told me I had to pay all my ticket that day or I was going to jail.... they don't do payment plans like the rest of the world does... and good luck talking to someone on the phone and when you do talk to someone they typically talk to you like you and a POS! They was voted the most CORRUPT crime ridden city in the stay for a reason! Problems are like waterfalls they start at the top and fall to the bottom where it stays!

Very unprofessional. Very rude. I have never seen such a horrible set up. The judge acts like he hates his life... Then again, I would to if I went through all of the school just to end up being a judge in Lawton Municipal Court 😂 where half the crap that comes through there isn't even jail worthy. Get out of here. I literally watched the judge give a girl who is a repeat offender (who also spent time in jail) a slap on the wrist and conidence booster.... While the people who have never had a violation in their life got scolded and treated like cold blooded criminals for asking for an extension or payment plan.... Atleast they were trying to pay!

The clerk who answered my call was extremely rude and hung up in my face. Very unprofessional.

The lady who answered the phone at the court clerks office for the city of Lawton was very hateful. Downright rude. No assistance. Answered no questions. She does not need to hold a job that deals with the public or people at all.

The woman on the phone speaks to you like she hates you and avoids answering your questions or helping you whatsoever. They should care about your situation..

The woman that answers the phone ought to be ashamed of herself, speaking in such a rude manner. What a disgraceful person. She should be fired immediately.

Some of those women that work in that area to pay fines act like they are mad at the world. Very rude and uninviting when you have proof to dismiss you ticket. LOL

I was thrown in a holding cell for an hour and a half for wanting to speak with the judge again about my traffic violation (failure to yield to an emergency vehicle).

Rude and no help! Clerk needs people skills
