Excellent Historic Park area. Smooth well cared for walking trail along the Catawba river. Clean restrooms. Beautiful scenery and very intact remains of the Locks which elevated or lowered watercraft of the time.

Top 5 state parks in SC. Always an abundance of mushrooms*, plants and animals. Beautiful views of the Catawba River. The Landsford Canal itself showcases the intricate and almost unfathomable amount of labor in order to achieve its construction.

Absolutely beautiful park. We were there for the Spider Lily festival. Did not disappoint. All the trails are spacious enough for stroller and dog, aren't too strenuous to hike, and offer views of the lush forest, the Catawba river, and of course all the historical landmarks. Wonderful place for families, animals, and adventurers alike!

Great park. We went to kayak through the spider lilies at their peak, and the experience almost couldn’t have been better. Great lots, kayak drops, restrooms. Short float down the river, slightly more rapids and shoals than we expected. There is a cut made for the take out at the end, and it left a lot to be desired. The shallowest part of the entire river and the actual take out is poorly marked and poorly accessible. We just dropped at the top, floated, and hiked the nice 1.25 mi trail back to the truck. Very interesting history and Canal architecture on the way back. Other than that, I wish we would’ve brought something to grill because of the multiple great picnic and grill setups along the river. Nice experience and well worth visiting.

We love this park. It has easy and accessible hiking trails. Interesting sights, including the eagle's nest, spider lilies in the spring, the historical canal, and the Catawba River. There's a place to put in for kayaking and cannooing. It has a playground, clean restrooms, picnic tables, and a picnic shelter. If river conditions are good, you can bring your water shoes and play in the river. Landsford is a beautiful park, rich with history and nature. A must-see any time of year.

I love hiking here! When the lilies aren't in bloom during the week it's so quiet and peaceful. Lots to learn and lots to look at! The lillies are definitely worth going to see during season. They are far from the viewing point. I'd love to kayak out and see them one day.

The Catawba river trail system keeps getting better. If you are looking for a beautiful easy walking trail along the Catawba River, don't forget to visit the Landsford Canal State Park this Summer. It is a great place to have a picnic anytime. Close to Mothers day the Spider Lilies fill the River Shoals with fields of white spider Lilies. You can also rent canoes and canoe around these beauties for a closer look. Check with the South Carolina Park system online or in person for more information on tours and picnic shelter rentals for Mothers day and Labor Day outings. The best way to say thank you to mom is to surround her with gratitude and unbelievable beauty! Don't forget to purchase a senior membership for the year ( a 50% discount) for Grandma on Mother's day. It's good for a year in every South Carolina State Park and covers a car load of grandkids too! Park admission per person is $6.00 each without it.

It's a lovely place to visit. The trails are very nice, and the picnic area is also very nice. The restrooms are kept very clean. The canals we're built between 1820 to 1825. Unfortunately, they were built using slave labor. Despite this, the canals were used to bypass the very dangerous shoals and falls along this stretch of the Catawba River. This allowed shipping to take place. However, when railroads became the more economical and popular way to ship, the canals were abandoned. It's really cool to be able to see a piece of history that was instrumental to building the Rock Hill, Chester, and Lancaster areas.

A beautiful morning to hike and see the Spider Lily's . A miracle to see every May. Beautiful views of the Catawba River and a nice place for a picnic under the Trees. You usually will see a snake and I suggest bug spray.

What a perfect little spot! A perfect spot for families or anyone looking to just get some outdoor time in! They have a few different trails to choose from that are relatively short (about 30-45 minutes in length at max). So you can stay for a while and do couple
Or just do one. Playground equipment was recently updated and is perfect for littles. Ranger does a great job maintaining the park. Worth the trip for sure.

One of South Carolina'a best-kept secrets. Nice playground area for the kids. The hike along the river is beautiful. There are some steps at one point, but other than that it's an easy trek. You can feel the history of the place.

Really fun place and beautiful scenery. If you like small to moderate rapids, Bald Eagles, and Tiger Lilly's. You will Enjoy this place. There are two areas. You want to drive past the road to the main gate and leave your getaway ride. Then go back to the top launch and set sail (kayak, tube, paddle board, etc.) The exit to get out is a little mis leading. It will be a sign on the right side that says tube exit or something like that. But it is a navigation arrow. Go about half a mile down the small creek and it's on the right. Depending on current it can be tricky getting out. But fun. At good water levels, you can paddle through the middle of the Tiger Lilly area. It's really a great family adventure

So glad we decided to visit this park on memorial weekend. After paying the $6.00 entry free for adults we easily found a parking spot. Walking along the river is delightful and relaxing. My husband, son and I did a somewhat brisk walk although it started to get crowded around 11:30. Many people had dogs both large and small all required to be leached. No bikes or motorized vehicles allowed on the trail. One side of the lot is for unloading canoes and other spots are spaced out for the use of the trails or playground which is not very big. I would say the path is not for small children during peak times you need to keep up. I would not recommend strollers as parts are sandy. Great for a casual date or to bring lunch and find one of the benches or covered picnic table. Well kept and will be back soon! 🇺🇲

We had a beautiful family trip to Landsford Canal State Park. $6 for adults upon entrance and free for kids under 6. The park was beautiful, an amazing walk along the river and not too many bugs to speak of. If we had dressed accordingly we could have easily gotten into the river for a bit. Highly recommend for a nice outside adventure with the family. There is a small playground the kids can entertain themselves with for a bit as well.

Lansford is so unique! 100% worth the drive. The trails are amazing with great views, and the old canal remnants are so fun to explore! There is so much to see from land, but I hope to come kayak here one day!

The spider lilies are beautiful in bloom! It should definitely be on your bucket list to see them in bloom!

Pretty cool park. Nice launch for kayaks. Good shore side fishing space. Playground, picnic tables, small store onsite with cold drinks. Restrooms. Be mindful of parking as it's not a huge park. Appears to be a new parking lot near Kayak launch site which is down a moderate slope. Spider lillies are epic if you go when they are blooming!

This was our first visit during the peak of the spider lilies blooming season. Truly amazing! The trail to the observation deck was mostly shaded & not very congested with hikers considering all the cars in the parking lot. Would recommend going on a week day because we have been told that it'srather crowded on weekends.
