Dandelion Cafe

I wish this place was more well known because the food and service is some of the best for breakfast that you’ll find in Houston. A true boutique restaurant that can get busy, still the team is very nice and helpful. We had our meal outside on a cool day and it was quite relaxing. The food is as authentic and farm-to-market quality. I don’t recommend the latte but I suggest the fresh Juices instead, specifically the Green Machine: Kale, spinach, celery, cucumber, parsley, apple & lemon.

We went for brunch (really late lunch) around 2p on a Saturday. We came in for the (famous) Chicken & Waffles - they unfortunately were sold out for the day (no surprise when we realized they marinate the chicken for 24 hours and it was 2 hours before closing). But we came for food and that wasn’t the only thing we had planned to get 🤗.

For drinks I got a small latte and my husband got the Caribbean Breeze Smoothie. I learned later that the cafe started as a coffee shop, so their fully outfitted coffee options make sense, the small latte was the perfect size for me. The smoothie was also delicious and fresh!

For food we got 3 different entrees:
Black Bean Tostada - this turned out to be our favorite entree of the spread. It seems like they were out of whole toasted tortillas, or they have switched to tortillas chips, but I think it was better with the chips because it was easier to eat without having the break the tortillas. Perfect balance of all the different components of the dish

Strawberry Cream French Toast was our next favorite of the dishes; it came with 3 pieces of French toast and we each had 1 and then took the last piece home (which was still delicious later). The fresh strawberries with the cream and strawberry filling were divine!

Skillet Biscuit & Gravy was our least favorite. It was still good (and we still finished it) but I think the biscuit was a little dry. We asked for some strawberry jam that we added to it that added a sweetness to it that was nice; but when we go back we’ll pass on this dish.

Overall, food was great, service was excellent and the space was beautiful. When we left around 3p the space was still having people come in to eat (before the 4p close) and there was space for people to sit and eat.

My friend and I came for breakfast on a Monday morning, and it was not too busy. We ordered the chicken and waffles, bacon,and French toast. My friend also took advantage of the Mimosa Monday deal. The cashier answered our questions and was friendly, and the lady who brought our food was amazing and helpful (Gigi). To be honest, Gigi's kindness and customer service was a pleasant surprise because you don't get that often in most places. She got us silverware, a "to-go" box, and made sure we had condiments also. The chicken and waffles were good, and my enjoyed her french toast. Thanks again for a wonderful experience. I will definitely make sure I return on a weekday because I'm sure it gets busy on weekends.

First time trying this cafe, cute and welcoming ambiance. We ordered the lavender latte and it was so tasty and not overwhelming. The omelette is a built your own but they have many options and they’re very generous with the toppings. The manager was very attentive with the customers and even ran outside to give me my umbrella that I accidentally almost forgot. Would definitely recommend coming and would for sure visit again.

Nice, small cafe with a cozy feel to it. Seating inside is surprisingly ample considering the size, and has a great atmosphere. The Peppermint Latte was good. The Lemon Blueberry French Toast stix were amazing, must have in my opinion. If you're wanting something savory, I tried the Bagel & Lox and it was delicious, though the whole menu looks good. 10/10 breakfast spot

Ambiance... it smells a bit like curry on the inside so we sat outside.

We ordered salmon bagel and lox, we really liked it but wished it came with a sharper knife as it's a pretty thick bagel to cut down.

I absolutely had to go check out the famous chicken and waffles here, and I must say it was such a delightful treat. The chicken had obviously been marinated for a while and was tender and so flavorful. The general ambiance was very welcoming, and different staff came over to our table to make sure we didn't need anything they could assist with. Certainly will drop by again whenever I'm in the neighborhood.

We love Dandelion! My daughter requests it frequently for family breakfast. We love the yogurt and granola, breakfast tacos, and classic breakfast. The staff is super friendly and service is pretty quick. There’s covered outdoor seating too.

I met my friends here for brunch at this local eatery!! Yes there was a line but the owner did a great job of encouraging us that by the time we order our food, a table will open up. He knows his establishment. He even helped us swap seats with a larger party to better accommodate both of us. I did not order the chicken and waffles but I did order the build your own omelette with an iced coffee. It was DELICIOUS!! I also got to sample the pancake that my friend ordered and it was so good and fluffy without syrup! My iced coffee was perfect for a summer day and add the bourbon caramel!!!! The wait staff were attentive and helpful and we ended up staying until they closed! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will definitely come back. It’s also kid and family friend! We went on a Sunday so be mindful of the after church crowd. But still a great food experience!

The biscuits and gravy is flavorful, scratch-made, and delicious. A little heavy on the gravy for me but that just meant I left some gravy in the bottom of my bowl. The crew here is very attentive - especially for an order-at-the-counter restaurant. The only drawback is that it was crowded.

Cute little breakfast and coffee spot. It's small and busy on the inside but the food was delicious. They have good portion sizes. I ordered the biscuit and gravy and it was a full meal.

After we heard about them on GMA (Good Morning America), we had to try them on a Saturday. They did not disappoint: their food was delicious! It’s a small place and there was a line. However, they were quick with their orders. Towards around 10 am they started running out of items and taking longer for the chicken and waffles. Their staff were efficient, attentive, and patient.

Place was very cute on the inside! Line was long and I understand why! Great service, great food and great ambiance! What a hidden gem!

I had an outstanding experience at Dandelion Café! The customer service was exceptional, from the owner to the servers. Everyone was friendly, and the food was excellent. Timely service added to the overall positive dining experience. Highly recommend!

The chicken and waffles here were outstanding. The coffee was hot and delicious. I had 2 nice cup full. The atmosphere here is great. Everything else on the menu smelled great. I plan to get other stuff here next time because I live nearby. Thank you!

The spot is where you order your food the find a table, but I highly suggest you find a table then order your food. The food was delicious. They also have free filtered water. You have to get your own silverware and napkins also. I highly recommend this place.

The lemon curd French toast is the BEST French toast I’ve had in a restaurant… EVER…. They use focaccia bread so it’s like fluffy, fresh and indulgent. If you get nothing else, PLEASE try it!

Ugh love this place. Coffees are legit, food is superb, and the staff goes above and beyond. Thanks for the caffeine fix and quick, delicious lunches! Also, Idk why, but I tend to make large coffee orders when it’s raining and the employees always help take the coffees to my car in the rain! 🥲 yall are the best!
