Yes, it is a high end bicycle shop: top-tier staff and products which justifies any concern for pricing. They are well-known for their ability to properly fit as well as to have custom bikes made. Mosaic builds amazing bikes. If you are a Campagnolo rider, you know how difficult it is to find a mechanic that can properly install and maintain w/o any issues. Brian Powell does and much, much more. The shop is not necessarily convenient if you live in the suburbs. However, it is worth the drive and the price if you want to get it right the first time and keep it right going forward.

Absolutely incredible shop. This isn't a big bike shop at all in size, but as far as knowledge, this is huge! If you're looking for perfection and understanding on what you want, then this is the place. Wow! Blown away on how rad this shop is and what they know and do.

New to biking and needed to upgrade - little intimidated thinking they were more focused on people that are the fastest - but man are they great here. First advice i got from biking friends was to get fitted and with some lingering medical issues, that was critical. The team there is so nice, so knowledgeable and got me exactly what I needed - an amazing bike, fits perfect and is really helping me take riding to the next level for a big trip next summer. Love this shop and what they did for me!

I have a new favorite bike shop. Brian is attentive, efficient and a nice guy. Took my Specialized ebike in - and they don't even sell ebikes despite being a Specialized dealer - and zeroed in on the problem within minutes whereas two prior bike shops had no idea what the problem was. Great bike service!

Brian is extremely knowledgeable. Also down to earth. Always a pleasure to visit the shop!

I want to commend Brian (sp?) and Ryan from here. I called and they remembered my name and situation when I arrived at the store. I had an issue where my e-shifter would not shift either the front or rear derailleurs. My issue was diagnosed and fixed in the same day (on a Saturday at that). They also performed a tune-up and consumable parts replacements appropriately. When I got my bike back, it was like new. Their quality of their work and the customer service they provided was outstanding which is sometimes hard to find in both categories from the same shop.

Stopped in to get fitted for a saddle for my old F700 Cannondale CAD2 - Brian assisted me - Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Great vibe to there - Will be back!

This is the bike shop you've been looking for. The most knowledgeable and friendliest staff you will find. I never have any doubt about the quality of work done here and they will go above and beyond making sure you are happy with your bike without you having to ask. This shop is just as comfortable building the nicest, craziest rocket ship of a bike you have ever seen as they are helping someone change a flat on a random beater. They know what they're doing here and have enough confidence in their work to leave the smug attitude you find at other shops behind.

I had a Retul fit with Brian on an existing bike. I had ramped up my training and was focusing on a century and had IT band issues. He was great and the process was great. He ended up making a variety of adjustments and swapping out saddles in a methodical process and it materially improved my overall ride experience and fit. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a great bike fit.

Hands down the best bike shop in Houston, and I’ve been to them all. Especially knowledgeable on high end “boutique” bikes. This is the only shop I trust when working on any of my bikes (road bike, triathlon bike and gravel bike). Ryan is a mechanical wizard and a super bike nerd. Which I love. Brian dialed my fit in perfectly. Just a great group of guys and the piece of mind you want as a bike owner when dropping off your prized possessions for service.

For reference, I purchased and had a left-side Stages power meter installed. Have purchased some tubes and chains. Lastly, Brian did a full bike fit on an existing bike and custom foot inserts. I live 45 min away and have no other reason to to to that part of town.

With all that said, the shop is perfect for bike service. Watching the lead wrench, was like watching a craftsman. The dedication to doing the work right was as if he was working on his own bike and his life depending on it. I have visited bike shops in at least five counties, and his dedication and focus left me feeling I could trust my bike and just ride.

The bike fit leaves most in the dust. The use of a motion sensing camera and pressure pads is the only was to get a proper bike fit. Brian has two monitors to show you your bio-mechanics in real time in too many metrics to list here. He does a fantastic job explaining the metrics and why they matter. I could see where I was putting too much pressure on one spot on my saddle, and I could see how those red areas on the monitor would grow smaller or disappear with his adjustments. The thing about a bike fit is you have to trust the fitter. I have complete trust in Brian’s work. The days of someone looking at you on the bike and dangling a plum line from your knee are over.

The crew at BSS are some of the most incredible people I’ve come to know in Houston — their passion and attention to detail has played a huge role in my falling in love with cycling.

I won’t be taking my bikes anywhere else (no matter how simple a fix) after seeing the precision in which Ryan and Brian pay to everything they do.

Getting a Retül bike fit from Brian has alleviated any/all pain that was keeping me from riding more than 50mi at a time and has radically changed the way I feel the following day after several hours in the saddle.

Lastly, Casey is one of the most welcoming and all-around great guys I know — always striking up genuine conversation and loves to share knowledge he’s gained over the years and point you in the right direction concerning bikes or gear.

Easily one of my favorite spots in Houston, and beyond.

I was very pleased with the service I received at Bicycle Speed Shop. I went there for a saddle fitting and felt very comfortable working with Brian (as a woman this is HUGE) as he helped to identify the source of my discomfort and propose a new saddle. I really liked that he listened to me and with his knowledge and technology was able to recommend a solution that left me very happy. Not only did he help me find a better saddle, but he also noticed a need for a longer stem and was able to sort me out fairly quickly. I will definitely be going back for any of my cycling needs.

I'm a beginner bike rider and went in and ordered o basic road bike that I had looked up online. They ordered the bike l wanted and didn't try to up sale me on a more expensive bike that some other bike shops had done to me. I ordered the bike on a Monday and it was ordered, shipped and built by Thursday afternoon. Great service!

Really glad I came to this shop for a bike service. Everybody was friendly inside, really clean shop, coffee shop inside, and by the time I finished my Topo Chico the bike was done. Ryan went above and beyond my expectations by glancing over my bike to check for proper operation and any tweaks. A really high quality experience. I’ll be back for my future bike services, and probably sooner for an espresso. Thanks guys.

Undoubtably the best bike mechanics anywhere. They have fixed issues that other shops cannot resolve. If you are serious about cycling, then you should be getting your equipment and service from Brian at Bicycle Speed Shop. They love the sport and care about their customers. I've stopped buying parts and other items online because their pricing, recommendations, and service are truly the best. If you are new to the sport, then this place where you should begin because you can build a relationship that will allow you to get the correct bike and be fitted with the latest technology. If you are a seasoned veteran, then treat yourself and your bicycle to world class care.

I had issues with my disc rubbing my back brake/frame that a franchise bike shop in Houston could not fix (3 attempts). With just two weeks before IM TX, I took my bike to Bicycle Speed Shop and they fixed my disc issue and got my bike tuned up. Had zero issues over the 112 miles. Bicycle Speed Shop will be doing all my bike work going forward and I would recommend their work to anyone that needs their bike to perform.

Have bought a few handbuilt wheelsets and a new custom build mtn bike. Everyone is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable- they do the job right. Not the most convenient location to where I live but the service is worth the drive- in Houston traffic so that’s worth an extra star.

Addition of coffee service is a real nice bonus. Drinks are as good as any I’ve had in my travels and nothing goes better than bike and coffee.
