Great care! As a retired nurse practitioner, I am quite picky about my health care. I chose Dr. Vera because I have known him since he was a resident physician, and I know he reads and keeps current on all things medical. I trust him completely.

Took my daughter to see Dr Vera. He had a great bedside manner. He explained everything in great detail to where my daughter could understand the condition she was diagnosed with. Highly recommended.

Dr. Vera is a great doctor & very concerned about your health. I've used him for a long time & hope to have him as my doctor for a lot longer. He also has a great staff!

Dr.Vera went out of his way to help me find a specialist for my daughter. He was making phone calls on his cell phone to get me connected to a specialist. Very nice man/doctor.

My friend went to Dr. Vera with what looks like a serious case of cellulitis possibly caused by what he has previously been diagnosed with, i.e., peripheral artery disease. He has four ulcers on his leg that are starting to turn black with little green spots. The leg around the ulcers is bright red on about half of its surface from the knee to ankle. The skin is very tight, shiny and warm. It is quite swollen and warm to the touch. The foot also looks bad.

My mother, a former TWU Nursing Professor, my daughter and son-in-law, both bachelor degree RNs, have all seen the photos of his leg. Each one stated independently that it appears from the photos to be a serious case calling for oral antibiotics at the least, possibly IV. They are not physicians but they are all well-experienced in wound care. They are concerned about his leg as am I.

My friend was told the appointment would be in real time; that is why he walked over a mile on that bad leg to get to the clinic. Had he known it would be a video appointment, he could have done that from home. I was informed that Dr. Vera did not examine the leg or even look at it through the camera in the FaceTime or Zoom appointment.

I would very much like to post a picture of the severely infected leg but it would probably be taken down for inappropriate content. That’s how bad it looks. It’s a shame that older people in smaller towns have to put up with this uncaring, apparently negligent and apparently incompetent level of medical care.
