Smith County Precinct 5 Justice-of-the-Peace Court

I was there to transfer my truck tags. I was 7th in line outside when I got there, took about 45 minutes all total to walk out with tags. The gentleman who handled the transaction was super nice, courteous and helpful, answered my questions about also changing over my RV. No mask required :)

I live on a fixed income and im single I was cited for 2 tickets totaling 500.00 I have paid all of the 500.00 except fot 85.00 they have issued a warrant so they can get more money from a poor person who just trying to make hell I admitted to the fine and have paid all but 85.00 just be ware citizens of what Smith county does to its people.

I’m a U.S. Navy vet and obeying the law and following order is what I’m about. I was on a six month deployment when my tags expired and after returning home it was the end of my four year term and was not re-enlisting. In January 2020, I was on my way to Mississippi for work that I found after separating when I got pulled over for my tags. Officer was friendly and respectful and sent me on my way with a citation for my tags. For six months I’ve called and called the number on my ticket attempting to reach out to resolve my expired plates while out of state it has now turned into a failure to appear because no one wants or knows how to answer the phone. All I’ve wanted to do is resolve this issue but because of those at the other end of the line I now have a warrant? It isn’t right.

Found out where the crooks hang out. If you get pulled over in the Lindale area by a state trooper, might as well start loosening your belt.

There all super slow and rude for no reason
