I have worked for the HCH nursing department for the past 6 years and it has truly been a privilege. The compassion that our different departments show to our patients is unmatched, and it feels so great to be a part hospital district that is constantly growing and expanding its’ services. For such a small community, Canadian and the surrounding area is so lucky to have this resource available to us!

I have worked for HCH for a little over 5 years and can honestly say the staff within this organization is amongst the very best. From the main hospital to the assisted living and nursing home, the healthcare team works extremely hard to ensure each and every patient gets the best care possible. The leadership and support provided to staff is unmatched. The healthcare myself and my family have received within multiple departments (ER, CFP, Lab, Radiology, PT) has been exceptional.

Not only has Hemphill County Hospital been my place on employment for the past 11 years giving me many opportunities to grow and be a part of team, HCH has also provided exceptional healthcare not only for myself but for my family. The emergency department, lab, radiology, nursing staff, the Doctors whom are all caring individuals that put the health and well being of the patients first.

HR and admin have destroyed me. After 16+ years of employment I had to cash in my retirement to survive. An employee of mine was being bullied by another department manager and I got terminated for reporting it. That department manager has treated other employees horribly with no consequences. My years of loyalty and dedication sadly meant nothing to them. HR basically erased my career of 25 years.

The nursing staff at the hospital were wonderful. I’m giving it a 1 star because of the DOCTOR! I took my daughter to the ER Friday to get her an x-ray because she hurt her forearm, couldn’t move it without crying and we wanted to make sure it wasn’t broken. The DOCTOR walked up to my 9 year old daughter and accused her of lying because the x-ray didn’t show anything! I was LIVID! Who DOES that?? Especially to a 9 year old??? I was mad and I could tell the nurse was mortified by that dr’s behavior and what she said to my child. THAT DOCTOR NEEDS TO GO!!!
