A nice Sunday day trip ended us up here for a late lunch. It was the best mountain oysters I have ever gotten anywhere except for homemade ones. And grilled squash over a wood fire was the best ever too. My husband had the country fried fish & said it was amazing too. We will make another trip just to eat there! Super nice & clean inside & the bathrooms r so clean too! We had a great waitress too. Just a great dining experience!

That 12oz IRON SKILLET RIBEYE STEAK was awesome. Let me say if u can let go of $45, it's worth it to me. Okra & greens just fine. Staff friendly as ever, and we visit frequent. Thanks folks. My wife's beer had ice in it and she said the complimentary dessert( I forgot the name) was fantastic. She took mine to go , but dropped it AND they tried to replace it. A great way to start put 4th Anniversary here where we married in 2020.

The potential of greatness can be found here. Lot of little details could make this place worth a five hour drive to dine there. Hostess needs to greet everyone with a cheerful attitude. That would be better than a scowl, even if it's Texas and strangers beware. The best food I sampled was the BLUE CHEESE DRESSING and the complimentary BREAD PUDDING!! Everything was not perfect but, it still gets a FIVE in my book because they are so close to getting it right!

We had a late lunch/early dinner here on Sunday. I had the fried fish platter (cornbread batter and the whitefish was very tender, small pieces but lots of food!) Hubby had the special. We both enjoyed our meals thoroughly, and the old hotel atmosphere was lovely! A little spendy, but the meals even included warm bread pudding 🤩

The menu here has seafood, steaks, BBQ, salads, burgers, and other Texas favorites. We had the smoked turkey sliders and brisket Frito pie. The apple slaw was sweet and crunchy, and that Frito pie was enough for several people! Excellent rolls, and fabulous service as well!
It was in the old Moody Hotel, which has preserved some interesting history.

We were traveling through Canadian during lunch time and decided to stop in. So glad we did. We had the chicken and the tacos. Everything was delicious. The bread pudding was the perfect finishing touch. You need to stop here!

This place is everything you could imagine in a small town like Canadian. Me and my husband are traveling for his job and passed through. Coming from a small town in Oklahoma, but now living in Dallas, it made us both want to just buy a little place and stay. The food was amazing! Sweet tea was fantastic! Better come HUNGRY!!

My husband works out of town from time to time. He is a plumber and he is plumbing the new O'Reilly s in Canadian TX. Each time he has gone and come home he has just bragged about "The Cattle Exchange" restaurant. He said it is the " The best food you will ever put in your mouth" (that is a big statement ) so needless to say I have been dying to try it. So, right before Christmas my great grandmother passed away. The funeral is in Amarillo TX. I knew I absolutely had to go the extra 2 hours out of our way and try this place out.
When he said it was the"Best food you will ever put in your mouth "that was a under statement! This restaurant was the Bomb!! The best by far!!!!! I had the brisket enchiladas. They melted in my mouth. And as if the food wasn't good enough they give everyone bread pudding at the end of your meal, it was so tasty.
The building is a sight for sore eyes for sure. In the middle of down town. Very clean and very well put together. A lot of old antiques. The staff was awesome! The whole experience was worth every extra mile we drove to get there!! Great Job Cattle Exchange!!! We will be back. Thank you for your great service and excellent food. They followed all guidlines for Co-vid. I felt totally safe.

Awesome food! Great people and very interesting historical place. I ordered a stuffed potato with brisket, and it was amazing! My husband got the brisket street tacos, and I tried a bite. So delicious. Big portions too. My 5 kids split a beef taco and a cheese quesadilla that both came with rice and beans. Plus the complimentary chips and salsa and the beacon bread pudding that came with our meals. Not expensive either. We were just passing through not expecting much and this was definitely a gem.

Entire work crew went out to dinner. The server was great, the food excellent. The best part? The mesquite grilled cattleman's cut ribeye. All steaks, 7 in total were cooked exactly as ordered. The squash was cooked correctly. The bacon wrapped quail was on point. As was the bacon wrapped shrimp. The long island iced teas were mixed perfect, and the beer was cold.
It's places like this and their workers that help keep all of us blue collars going on the road.
Cheers to them.
