Salt 251

This place deserves to be busy every day of the week! I've been stuck in town (Rochelle IL) for over 5 days and I've have most of the non-franchised restaurants in town. This blows every other place on the map out the water with a double barrel shot gun.
SALT 251 is hands down the cleanest place, the classiest decor, the nicest staff and best deal for your buck.

Me and my partner walked here from the Comfort Inn in 0°F weather, in snow (there is no Uber or shuttle) to come back here before we left because we were so impressed. That's a 2 mile walk.

ALMOST all the dishes are hand made, from hand dipped chicken sandwiches to slow cooked cornedbeef brisket for the Ruben. You can tell who ever the head cook (more like chef) really cares for the food they make. They use good and fresh quality ingredients for everything we had. All for a really good price for the amount and quality you get.

Drinks are at a really good price, beer on tap comes with a cold glass for $2.50(some seasonal sales)-$5 (High AP ) and the bartender we had knew a lot about the types he was serving. He made my partner a white Russian and I drank a variety of seasonal beers.

The decor is very nice; modern retro with clean lines and a dark interior with purple lighting that shows off the huge black stone bar that host most of the seating in the restaurant/bar. Every table is set with glass, no plastic to be seen. Both times I've been here smooth jazz is playing. This is a very nice place for a up scale first date, buissness meeting or relaxed meal. Pictures will not make justice for the effort that was put into the place.

Bartenders/staff really cares as well, offered to take us back to the hotel.

There isn't much going on in here so don't expect a riot when walking in but it was a very nice casual bar with lot of character developed from the people who work here.

We hosted an event at Salt last month and everyone was very happy. The service was good and the owner really made everyone feel welcomed.

We had our work happy hour here. I called in advance to reserve a table and told them what company I work for. When we came in, we were greeted with a cute welcome sign including our company logo and a table set up with water carafes and menus. The servers were so friendly and patient with us which is ironic because the woman’s name is Patience. We all ordered difficult drinks (that were on special) and they brought them out quickly with lovely touches such as the sphere ice cubes and garnishes. The hospitality was amazing considering the size of our party and the manager even texted me the next day thanking us for coming and said they enjoyed having us. I would recommend Salt to everyone; the appetizers and drinks were amazing and service was incredible. This is our 2nd happy hour here and there is a reason we came back and will be back again.

This is a must try. Food has been amazing! Super friendly staff. New owners and new menu. Definitely hit a home run with this place.

We celebrated my mother's 90th birthday party at Salt. We had an amazing time and the food and the service were excellent! The staff did a fantastic job. We were a party of 11 and every one of us loved our meal! Thank you for making our day special for our Mom's 90th birthday party!

Since the new owner took over the aesthetic is very pleasing. The menu is incredible, and the staff are very kind and attentive. 10/10 highly recommend!

This place was great. There wasn't alot of people there when we went (Sunday night). The was only one guy working the bar/eating area, but he was very attentive. The food was awesome. My burger was a good price for what I got and the chips and salsa that came with it was tasty! Check out this local gem!

I went with a large group (12-15 people) and we were taken care of... Very well!!! The food was worth the price!! I wish I remembered our waitresses name... She was amazing!! Never let a glass get empty, but wasn't overbearing!! Great place, awesome staff, good food... a bit pricey, but I'm not complaining!!

Had the waffle brisket sandwich and it was great. The waffles were sweet enough to balance the saltiness of the brisket. Highly recommend it.

Stopped after a round of Golf and Food was really good just had the smash burger and fries bit it was really good and our service was phenomenal

The food was tasty, the service was friendly, the atmosphere was easy going. All-in-all a very pleasant experience.

The food was delicious and the service was great. I love the fact that we can sit outside and watch the golfers. It is always so relaxing. The prices are very reasonable.

My boyfriend and I went here this evening. It was my first time here. Tiffany was our waitress she was the only one she did such amazing job. She got busy at the bar making special drinks lol she was amazing and great. Our food was wonderful. We will be back.

Good food. Menu is a little limited but that probably will change as thing pick back up. They have some nice salads, everything else is pub/fryer food. Great cheese curds and a solid burger. Bartender was super friendly and was running the place by herself.

My husband and I got to go out for the first time in months and we chose to try this place. Great atmosphere, great food, even better drinks. The bartender was super friendly and I'm not kidding when I say the drinks were great. I can't even remember the last time my husband has ordered a long Island and not had to send it back. It was perfect every time. The bartender also suggested a pb&j shot that he came up with and omg it was fantastic. People seem to complain about the limited food choices but in our opinion there is plenty to choose from and the food was delicious.

I go golfing almost every weekend. After a great golf game I always have great meal in the restaurant and few drinks as well. The food is great I highly recommend it. The service is even better my favorite employee is Stephanie, she is friendly and has a great sense of humor she always has a way to know just what I want and always suggests the best food and drinks. If you've never been here you gotta try it and be sure to ask for Stephanie she's the best!!!! Tell her Don sent you 😁

Food is great. It's under new ownership and I can't be happier. Food quality is much improved.

Coconut Shrimp was heavenly!! We had a great waitress named Chasity! Will definitely go back!

My family goes to Salt quite often for the amazing food. The extra perk is the service, Stephanie is our favorite server/bartender she really knows how to make you feel welcome and she knows the menu inside and out. We just love her.
