The people running this place are so kind and nice.
Everytime we've come here, the food comes out so fast and tastes amazing!
100% recommend cherry pork and their amazing crunchy egg rolls, best I've had!
Look forward to our next visit.

I have nothing bad to say about Hunan Palace. The owner at the counter was very friendly and engaging. She focused a lot of attention on us, maybe because they are recently open for business and not a lot of traffic inside yet. She let us come in before the restaurant was actually open! That in itself is very appreciated. My sesame chicken was delicious, my egg roll hit the spot. My hot and sour soup was very tasty. My wife's sweet and sour shrimp was very good, her crab rangoon done the way she likes it. They brought the sauces to the table, her glass of merlot was chilled and tasty. My Japanese beer was wonderful, also my pepsi, and the water was cold, lol! She even brought lemon for my wife's water! All I can say, it was a wonderful dining experience, we were not rushed, and the decor inside was very interesting to look at. We actually have a lot of the same decorations in our home! So we felt very comfortable dining, and comfortable talking about those things with the owner.

Really good authentic Chinese food! The general Taos chicken was cooked perfectly! It wasn’t over fried and had a good amount of sauce. Husband had the beef Kao and it was also delicious. Eggs rolls and wonton soup came with the lunch special, which was generously portioned and I had leftovers. Owner was very friendly too. Definitely coming back here!

I've never dined-in but I can't get enough of their eggrolls, I'm addicted! When I need a comfort food and movie nite, Hunan is my go to spot!

This is my go to place for Chinese in the mundelein area. I’ve been there 3 times now in 3 weeks. Loved it everytime! Mongolian beef (older brother said it was the best he ever had); see photo of my own take home; egg rolls are awesome (second best I’ve ever had). Kung pao chicken was great. Szechwan beef- phenomenal.
Rice and tea are average.

I’m not normally a fan of Cantonese style (prefer Szechwan and mandarin). But this place has never been worse than “very good.”

Always dependable. Food always hot, comes out fast, and people are always nice. I’ve never eaten in the restaurant though. Always do carry out.

We came as a recommendation from a friend. We are very impressed with the quality and taste of the food. We will be back.

I stopped here for lunch during work & it was very good! The service was professional & friendly. The food was served quickly & well prepared. I will inform all my coworkers & family! I ordered the Hunan Shrimp 🍤 & I enjoyed it. Good quality at a good price. 😊👏

We were in the area for a craft class and decided to stop here because it was convenient. We came in a little after noon on a Saturday. The atmosphere was nice, the service prompt. We had our soup within ten minutes of sitting down, and our entrees arrived just as we finished the soup. I had Mongolian beef, fried rice, egg drop soup, and crab Rangoon. My friend ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, egg drop soup, and an egg roll. The food was good, more authentic Chinese than you usually see in a strip mall restaurant, and the portions were generous. We both took leftovers home. I would definitely go here again.

If you have low tolerance on MSG, you know you will feel the pain the next day when you had bad chinese food. No worries here. Instead of to go try to dine in. Vegetables are fresh, portion is generous and shrimp is firm not mushy. If you're looking for quality chinese food. Do try here. Lunch comes with soup and crunch eggroll.

My wife and I stumbled on this and found it to be good, clean, and very very cold beer. If they’re a little slow, be considerate as staffing is an issue at most family owned restaurants. We would go back, and have three times.

Hands down best Chinese food outside Chicago. Amazing food. I don't think you could go wrong.with anything you choose. Meat is extremely tender and very fresh. Good portion size. Tastes amazing. Quick and friendly service.

Also...they r consistently late with their orders. If they tell u 30 mins..it's probably closer to 45-50mins for ur order

By far the best Chinese restaurant I have found in Lake County. For the first time we finally had great authentic egg rolls and fried rice. The Chinese restaurants in McHenry, Fox Lake, Antioch and Round Lake don't have a clue how to make good Chinese meals. Hot and sour and Wanton soups were so flavorful. Short of having to go to Chinatown we now have a nice place to go within short drive from our home.

Great Chinese food. I've always enjoyed Hunan Palace in Libertyville. I typically order the Empress Chicken with an egg roll. It's fantastic, fresh and very large portions. The decor is nothing exciting, but come on, it's Chinese food! You're supposed to get take-out anyway right?

In my opinion the combination appetizer platter is phenomenal. Shrimp toast, a different type of crab rangoon, egg roll, and chicken makes it good to eat.

I've been coming here for over 15 years. The best Chinese food in the area. The food is always fresh tasting and very reasonable. Their lunch menu is a bargain with lots of options. Highly recommend.
