Assumptions

The owners are very knowledgeable about the Catholic faith and history. They have a great variety of Catholic items (books for children and adults, Rosaries, medals, prayer cards, statues, gift items and cards for special occasions and beautifully framed religious art). I go in a couple of times a year and find beautiful auction donation items. Everything is reasonably priced.

The reason I am giving this store 4 stars instead of 5 is because they don't accept debit or credit cards and they don't have gift receipts. They accept cash or check, but I almost never have either with me. Assumptions has a large selection of religious books, for both adults and children. If you're looking for books on engagement and marriage, this is the place to go. They also have a great selection for 1st Communion and Confirmation gifts. There were a few toys and greeting cards as well. Beautiful store! The owner and her daughter are extremely nice and helpful. One last thought - do not take your toddler into this place! I took my 2 year old with me and he was like a bull in a china shop...lots of beautiful, breakable things at his eye level. But don't take that as a negative - it really is a lovely store! I can't wait to go back to look around at my leisure without my toddler.
