Working with Amy was a Godsend! She constantly was updating me regarding my case and worked continuously with the DA regarding my case and the means which to bring the case to closure.
I would highly recommend her and her firm regarding any legal matters one may have.
Thank you, Amy.

Attorney Menzel is very knowledgeable and efficient. She is also timely. She answers your questions and concerns quickly and professionally. She was spot on with predicting how my family member's case was going to proceed and finalize. She also seems to know the Judges, DAs, and other court staff's intentions. I highly recommend Attorney Menzel.

Attorney Amy Menzel, (and her assistant Amy Alexander,) were amazing to work with. Their communication is fantastic and punctual. I really appreciated how they broke down everything I needed to do and everything they were going to do with my case. They provided all the information and resources I needed when I had no clue which direction to even go in. To top it off, they got the exact results I was hoping for in court and then some extra too! Highly recommend.

I’ve known Amy for years & have consulted with her for legal advice. She’s one of the most hard working, professional, punctual & timely, smart, strategic, & compassionate lawyers that I’ve ever met or worked with (& I’ve worked with a lot throughout the years). This negative review sounds like someone who may not fully understand the legal processes & thus may have unrealistic expectations- which the legal process is very complicated & difficult for anyone to deal with who doesn’t regularly work within the system. So, I can understand why a person who doesn’t understand the system would be frustrated, but a lawyer cannot control the legal system, the unresponsiveness of other lawyers on the other side of the case, or the scheduling of cases. That said, as someone who has worked with multiple legal teams for a variety of reasons- I would recommend Amy to anyone who wants the best working on your case.

Absolutely the best attorney out there! Amy was very prompt with responding to my calls and emails. I started my divorce with a different attorney and switched to Amy. I am so grateful I found her.

Amy and the team has been super easy to work with, and If I could give the office 10 stars, I would. I approached the office in January for what was supposed to be a simple divorce, as I just needed help with the financial aspect of things. The EX turned extremely difficult, which caused things to drag out for 9 months. Amy was extremely patient and calming in my overthinking, over analyzing head. She was able to keep things real with the threats and other issues that were brought to the table. Amy was able to advise of different scenarios that could happen, but never brought false promises into play, which is what I needed, the truth. Email was the easier way for communication due to my line of work, and she was always super prompt on responding to important issues that arose, but even the not so important questions were answered within a day or two, at the most. I needed someone to stand up for me, and Amy was there so that I was not walked all over. I will definitely reach out, without a doubt, for any other legal matters in the future knowing that she can handle the cards thrown into the mix.

Amy is a very knowledgeable, responsible, and assertive attorney that will make sure you understand all of your options before going into court. She will always have your best interests in mind and do everything she can to give you the best outcome.

Her legal assistant, Katie, is also very responsive and helpful when requesting documents or setting up meetings.

I was facing serious charges, after being accused of things I never ever did, by my accuser. I knew I had to fight it, and not settle w/a public defender! Amy, and her colleagues never kept me out of the loop, they did evrything to make me feel comfortable about proceeding forward, and answered all my questions! She believed me, and in me, therefore getting my charges reduced to 1 lesser charge! I highly recommend Amy to any and all people, needing a highly knowledgeable attorney that will fight for you, and always be in your corner!!!!

We had the pleasure of retaining and working with Amy Menzel to help with our son’s case. She was incredible to work with and help to reduce and remove the fear of what was happening. Amy was so professional, responsive and helpful. She guided us through every hearing, advised us and fought for us. She is very knowledgeable and able to explain the laws and what has happened as well as what to expect. Amy spoke to our son with such kindness and understanding and was always available to help. She was always there for us. We wouldn’t have been able to navigate our son’s case without her. If you’re in need of a defense attorney call Amy first!

I highly recommend Amy Menzel. We had an issue and Amy helped us more than we ever imagined. Amy made us feel comfortable with the situation we were going through. She is very good about getting back to you with any questions. We are pleased with the outcome. My husband and I have used Hammett, Bellin & Oswald in the past and have never been disappointed.

If I could give her 10 stars, I would. Amy and team guided me through the process, set expectations, enabled me to make the right decisions, and frankly, kept me comfortable throughout the whole process. It is also clear that she is connected and understands how to work with parties on both sides of the table. I'd recommend Amy for her experience, professionalism, and social/emotional intelligence. Thank you Amy for your hard work.

I called with questions about an issue that was not typical for them to address. After calling several attorneys, this is the ONLY office who took the time to direct me to someone else who could answer my questions and potentially help, when they were not sure. Thank you!

Worst attorney in the fox valley. Over 8 months on a dragging divorce case. Not once did she push the case to go straight to trial after not getting anywhere. Very unresponsive.. takes weeks to get a reply….And alone those replies were “ I don’t have time to review this “ waste of money by far. Amy dropped my case due to “ not being able to help anymore “ and not having enough time…. Well then you shouldn’t take on more than you can chew. Finally retained a new attorney and he’s kicking my case into gear and we finally are getting somewhere. Very rude. Very disrespectful. Would never ever recommend or use again unless you wanna just toss your money and time out the window!

Do not recommend. I hired her to help with some delinquency charges against my minor child. She seemed great on the phone. Answered all of my questions.
In person, she bullied my kid. She knew ahead of time that my kid struggled with anxiety and depression. When my kid was struggling to answer her questions she was very confrontational, laughed at them, would not let me rephrase questions to help them answer.
When my kid could still not answer, she basically told them they were going to juvenile detention, then left the room to give us time to talk. As soon as she left the room, my kid completely broke down. It took a while for them to pull it together enough to leave and we were then charged for an hour and a half of Amy's time. All we got from it was my kid's distrust of and aversion to attorneys.

I was looking for a criminal lawyer and was in search for someone who would fit the qualities I was looking for. This is an extremely serious matter that I’m involved in and wanted to make sure of these things; Their personality is compatible to mine, their background is impressive, they have years of experience, they understand and are sensitive to my needs, and most importantly that I would not hire them and they wouldn’t end up having a paralegal handle my case (I know many layers rope you in and then later once you’ve paid the retainer fee they stick you with someone else). It was VERY important that I spend my time with the attorney and not someone else. Amy wanted to charge me a very large amount of money compared to other highly rated Attorneys but I was willing to overlook the cost because I felt Amy would be best suited for me case. After I spoke to her for my consultation she assured me I would be in good hands and that she had the time to take on my case and didn’t have too much of a heavy workload (that was also very important to me). I called other attorneys to compare and to see who would be a better fit and after taking time to meet with everyone I felt Amy was the best. I tried to call her back to retain her and ask her a couple additional questions and after 2 weeks of trying to get a hold of her, she kept transferring me to her paralegal which is what I wanted to avoid in the first place. It was like she was too good or too busy to take my call. So just as I was getting ready to hire another attorney I decided to try getting a hold of her once more and sure enough she picked up but was extremely rude and said I would be better off hiring someone else. She said it was because I refused to talk to her staff which is untrue. I just had very specific questions for her...you know the attorney I was going to hire lol anyway she was by far unprofessional and rude and just too good to help me. I wouldn’t recommend her at all and she is way too busy to even give your case the time if day.
