Dr. Engler is a very knowledgeable, skilled, friendly and caring surgeon. He throughly explained the treatment and addressed my concerns in layman's terms. My rotator cuff surgery was very successful with very little pain. My surgery was 6 mos. ago, I have gained full movement back, and my strength is improving daily. Dr. Engler is very attentive in his follow-up care, and the staff at Central Maine Orthopedics are wonderful. I highly recommend Dr. Ian Englar.

After dealing months of shoulder pain and feeling rejected from my current orthopedic surgeon. I decided to see somewhere else. I am 6 weeks out from total knee replacement of my left knee, and I have nothing but praise for the team under Dr Michael Defrance, who did the replacement using MAKO.

Dr Defrance's office staff, his surgical staff, especially his PA Elizabeth, and the entire nursing and PT team at Central Maine Hospital of Lewiston, Maine could not have taken better care of me.

When obstacles arose, they conquered them. When I had questions, they had the answers. They are a caring, compassionate and truly empathetic group of people, one and all. I believe that has a lot to do with the surgeon at the top of the team, Dr Defrance.

Dr Defrance made certain that I understood everything from beginning to end, and made sure surgery was necessary before we scheduled.

I would be remiss if I did not also mention the Hospital Kitchen Staff. They were responsive and pleasant, and their choices for meals were more like a menu from a 5 star restaurant, and tasted every bit as good as they sounded on the menu. There was not a single thing that I did not enjoy.

My experience at Central Maine Orthopedics was excellent. The entire staff was very helpful and professional.
Dr. Engler is one of the best surgeons around. After having a major repair on my rotator cuff, the results were better than expected. We were both pleased.
With Dr. Engler in the O.R. and Allison & crew making sure all things run smoothly behind the scenes.....it doesn't get any better than this, you can take that to the bank.

I have been in chronic pain for couple years now. They have kept their promise on not stopping until it's managed properly . When I needed serious relief, they made sure I had it and I'm not one to cave on pain .but reality of my conditions ,is that it's debilitating in the end .they believed me and that makes all the difference in my book . I recommend any of the doctors as I've been seen by almost all of them .the dedication is worth the whole process. Thank you so much .

Amazing experience, Dr. Engler was able to fix my shoulder and it feels great! He did a fantastic job answering my questions before surgery. The staff was very polite and if I need orthopedic surgery again I know my choice would be to return here.

We brought my 5 year old son here for a radius fracture. It was set the day before at the ER at CMMC (top notch care there as well). The ortho office got us in quickly, the reception staff were so kind, the MA, rad techs and cast tech were sensitive to my apprehensive son and talked him through everything. Md Engler was great as well, explaining expected healing time, limitations etc. We have returned 2 times for a re-casting and again today to finally have it removed. Every visit has been great! I’m shocked at the negative google reviews, honestly we received the best care! Would highly recommend and visit again if needed.

I had a full shoulder replacement done in March (2023) by Dr. Ian Enlger and his team. After surgery I was assigned physical therapy and conducted the sessions at Central Maine Orthopedics Therapy Unit. I can't speak highly enough about the treatment, follow up and recovery through all those involved. To name just a few: Dr. Engler, Shawna, John, Len, Jordan, Kayla... all professionals, personable and willing to push you for a full recovery.

What a dream team! Dr. Engler, Allyson and the whole office has taken such amazing care of our whole family, but most recently our daughter who needed knee surgery. She has made a full recovery thanks to Dr. Engler's surgery talents and then the dedicated Minot Ave CMMC PT team, John especially!! From check-in to check-out and everything in between, the staff has been friendly, helpful and accommodating. We are so grateful to have this talented, caring group of providers in our community!! Thank you Dr.Engler, Allyson and John!!!

All these people and the doctors and nurses and people that work there, helped me get through my experience with my knee and my ankle. It was the best part, after I got hurt to visit this office and have the therapy from the other office connected to it. My experiences at this practice have been very positive. I was in last week for my hand and saw Dr. Adey. I like her very much and feel fortunate that she is the hand doc. Her medical assistant, Lisa, was nice and friendly as was the front desk person and the check out person. Quite happy.

My mother and I are very happy with the doctors and their staff here. I had hand surgery a few years ago and Im very happy with the results. My mother broke her arm in a fall this winter. She had Dr Zimmerman and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. He answers all our questions and everything went as he stated. I highly recommend going here. Mom is back to caring for herself and playing bingo again. She is very happy! Thank you Dr. Zimmerman and staff!
