Great place to stay for my Kahtahdin adventure!! The rooms were neat and clean . . Staff was very polite and even were kind to mail an item i forgot ( my expense but still😊definitely recommended

Great place! It is near to I95, so pretty on the way going South (or North). It's also right before the Kathadins.The rooms were clean, but could need some renovations. They also didn't have microwaves or a fridge, so you'll have to eat somewhere else. We ended up driving to Millinocket (ca 20 mi roundtrip) as there weren't a lot of options to eat there. In the mornig there was also breakfast, even though it was listed, that there wasn't one. A pretty pleasant surprise! Sure it's a basic breakie, but who cares if one thought that there wouldn't be any?

If you are looking for a clean, basic hotel before or after a Katahdin hike this place is great? No, there's not a continetal breakfast, and that was clear from the web site, yet coffee, juice and packaged pasties were available? Cost was great. Clean. ZERO complaints. Nice folks.

friendly staff and nice rooms. Bed was comfortable and this is probably the nicest hotel in the city if Medway. My room was clean and spcaious. There was also plenty of parking- Thank you for having me Gateway Inn!

Check was great, people were friendly and room was nice. Ac worked great as did the shower.

It's not fancy, but it certainly suited our needs. The Inn is pet friendly without charging extra. My husband and I brought our two hound and were welcomed by the sweet lady at the front desk.

The room was clean, quiet and there was coffee ready at 6 am. If you come here for ritzy, glitzy experience, you will be disappointed. If you're looking for a nice, basic and friendly place, this is it.

My wife and I are buying a house, but the process just takes forever. We didn't want to get an apartment in the meantime because who wants to pay first month, last month and a security deposit. The Gateway Inn gave us the flexibility we needed. Great one bedroom apartment, full of kitchen supplies, pet friendly. Ellen and Janice are super friendly. The cleaning staff always says hello and know us by name. We have coffee together and hang out quite a bit. I am so thankful for the Gateway Inn being so accommodating, friendly, and very reasonable on their pricing. Fantastic experience.

In Maine’s busiest season, where else can you find a wonderfully clean, large, air conditioned hotel room with a balcony and view for under $100? Nowhere. This property is really terrific. I stayed upstairs, and I recommend you do the same (for the balcony and view). The icing on the cake is the friendly and knowledgeable service you’ll receive from the owners/managers. They’ll make sure you are happy. Note: There is no microwave, fridge or coffee pot in the regular rooms, so plan accordingly.

Quick weekend trips to go snowmobiling. Have been there several times. Always clean and staff is friendly. Snowmobile trail is groomed right from hotel to the main trail.

This was a pleasant surprise. We weren't expecting much when we arrived unexpectedly due to a winter storm. We had stayed at many higher end hotels along our 6 day road trip but we were most impressed with the hospitality at this one. The people reminded us of our home in canada and welcomed us as if we were family. The rooms dont have a mini fridge or a microwave but the lobby area provides you with everything you need. The TV was nice to have and the room was very clean and reasonably priced. It was a bit like camping in some respects but overall it was a nice little retreat from city life . Thank you

The view was wonderful with the sun setting and rising around Mt. Katahdin. The room was clean with two double beds. The balcony on the back was wonderful with great views.

We recently had to make a last minute trip from Charleston, SC to mattawamkeag, ME after finding out my father passed away very suddenly. If you're familiar with the area, there aren't many places around.. we called gateway inn and at the last minute they were able to take us in and accommodate us. They even let us keep our bird with us ( in her cage ofc) these ladies take such great care of this cozy little motel and they made one of the worst times in my life that much easier on my family and I! This will definitely be our go to on our future trips to visit!

The Gateway has been a place of rest after along days on the mountain for many years, very clean facility,Great people with a smiling happy way about them Gail greated us with a smile after the long day, don't get that at the end of the day where people don't like their job. The morning folks are just as pleasant. Worth the stop, reasonable rates too.

Super polite staff and clean rooms. This is the North Woods of Maine, one shouldn't expect a Ritz Carlton. It's a great place to sleep and clean up between forees into Baxter. Will happily stay again.

The GateWay Inn is getting 5 stars from me. I checked in around 5:30am no reservation, and was welcomed with open arms. The night clerk, the morning clerk, AND the cleaning lady were so friendly and made me feel like home. I never had such FANTASTIC, GENUINE hospitality from a hotel or Inn. This is one of the reasons I keep coming back to Millinocket to escape the busy life in southern Maine. People are not asswholes around here. Lol. Thanks again! Definitely will be a place I stay again.

Very nice people. Clean room, quaint older hotel. My wife enjoyed the back porch access. Would stay again.

Great place. Cozy, simple, and convenient. It isn't anything fancy, but it is a decent place to hang your hat in the area.

Always a great place to stay with friendly staff, clean rooms, and a great view of Mt Katahdin in the distance!
