Pretty good. First time. Could never afford the top end steak. Nice to dream though. Spaghetti and meatballs was very nice. A large portion. Cobb salad was excellent. Coffee was super. Blueberry pie ala mode was very tasty.

Very pleasant dining experience!

We ate on the Cellar side. Meat was cooked perfectly. Our server Jerry was very friendly and professional, and food came out timely.

If you are getting a burger, make sure you get the Garlic Truffle fries, you will not be disappointed.

For dessert I cannot recommend enough the Salted Caramel Fudge Cheesecake.

I was a server for 4 years at business class restaurant in Ann Arbor and really thought I was the best to do it.

I was wrong, the server with the longer black hair put on a clinic Sunday night. I heard his menu presentation at several other tables along with ours and it was very comprehensive. Everything from drinks to apps to entrees and finally desert included his detailed suggestions. He’s got to have the best sales in this restaurant.

Food was great, I had the ribeye w/ mash and baked macaroni. It was temped correctly, seasoned very well and the baked macaroni induced a feeling to what I imagine cause people to become addicted to illicit substances.

Also, during the night - a food runner dropped a tray with two entrees. I am only bringing this up because they handled it very well. I once dropped a full tray of glass during a dinner shift and as a result we had to close down 2 booths and a table because the shrapnel had sprayed too comprehensively throughout the section.

Great times, me and my family hope to be back.

Edit: our server was Travis - thank you Travis!

The food was absolutely amazing, the service was top notch, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Travis was our waiter, and he truly was a master at his work. He made the experience truly great! My husband and I went here for our anniversary and it was so very nice. We ordered desert, and they brought us out a huge plate that said "Happy 1st Anniversary" in hot fudge. How neat is that? This restaurant is a must if you're coming through or staying in the area. We had calamari, penne pasta with shrimp, and a filet. Yum yum. Thank you for an incredible, wonderful evening with my husband. Travis, you were the best waiter we have EVER had.

We chose this place for our anniversary meal and it did not disappoint. Located in Harbor Springs, this restaurant is divided into a wine cellar side and sports bar. We sat in the wine cellar. I had the Vernales Black Bean Burger with Truffle Fries, and my husband had the Tortellini Ala Vodka. They also brought us fresh rolls and pesto - so good.

Picked Vernales by chance, wow did we ever pick right! Food was far superior than what I could ever have expected! Fabulous dinner, great bar selection, gluten free options, steaks cooked to perfection, I could go on!

An old style steakhouse with amazing steaks and excellent service. I highly recommend the bone in aged ribeye. Everytime we visit Harbor Springs we take our travelling companions, it is now tradition.

This is where my boyfriend and I went on our first date a year ago and decided to go back recently and the food here is awesome. The whitefish dip is something we talk about all the time because it is just so good. Love love love this place!

We have been there multiple times and always enjoy the restaurant because there are a wide variety of choices in food and beverages. The servings are very generous though I would have preferred my perch to be pan fried rather than deep fried. Everyone else was very pleased with their meal. The service was surprisingly quick for a Friday night and the atmosphere typifies northern Michigan in a most pleasant way. Interestingly my grandson was the person who pushed to go there.

Our first time dining at Vernales. The ambiance is warm and cozy.
The food is delicious and very filling. The wine is cold. Our hostess was pleasant and friendly. Our server Lisa was pleasant, friendly and attentive. She took good care of us.

Our party had a wide variety of food, and all was delicious. Fish dip and calamari for appetizers. Beware, if you ask for bread, there is a charge. Balsamic dressing was perfect, and they sell it to go. Pasta was well received, as was the Perch. Travis, our waiter was top notch. He stayed on top of all requests, made recommendations and kept drinks filled without being asked.

Look, you're going to drop some money to dine here. WORTH. EVERY. PENNY. The pesto and bread are phenomenal. The filet was pure magic. The whipped potatoes were amazing. The thing is, we only come here once a year when we're in town, and this place NEVER disappoints, year after year.

Outstanding restaurant in the Petoskey area. Try the Brussels Sprouts for an appetizer. My wife had the perch and I had a spicy seafood pasta dish. Both were excellent. They also have very good steaks. This place is a little pricey, but worth the cost. Service was excellent.

We enjoyed a nice anniversary meal here. We really splurged getting some of the most expensive items on the menu. My husband said it was the best meal he's ever eaten (which surprised me because the place that previously held that title was in NYC).

The blackened steak tip appetizer was great, and the bread and pesto really hit the spot. My husband raved about the tomahawk steak.

*The only negative was that they brought out a large platter with "Happy Anniversary" written on it and two small cannoli, which was great until I realized we were charged $8 for it and hadn't asked for it. We only realized the charge after we left and it was disappointing, not that we couldn't afford the charge, we spent over $300 on dinner, but that it seemed like it was a gift to us and wasn't.

Anyhow, the food was good, and I'd recommend- but if you're going for a special occasion and aren't interested in being charged for the special plate maybe not mention the special occasion or at least check your receipt. I am hoping that the charge was in error and that they don't typically charge for this.*

*About a week after our meal we received a letter and gift card in the mail apologizing for the charge and saying that we should NOT have been charged for it. That was a nice touch, and I appreciate that they reached out to make it right.

So I've never dined in person at Vernales, so this review is for take out only. We ordered one of their dinners during the takeout restaurant week, the 10oz steak. It was amazing, especially for a takeout experience! Hopefully once dining in becomes an option again, we'll have the chance to do that half as well.

Vernales staff made the birthday celebration for my Mom and Grandson extra special. The food and service were terrific from end to end—reservation process, welcome, and meal service. Loved the birthday presentation at the end of the meal ✨

Thank you!

Enjoyed Vernales for a birthday dinner. Just minutes outside of Petoskey in Harbor Springs, this was a delicious choice. I tried the New York Strip, excellent. She had the Sea Bass, excellent. Grady took great care of us. Definitely recommend a visit when you're in the area.

Me and my SO came here for our 3 year anniversary. The Hostess (Who's name I am forgetting sadly, but she rocked!) Set us up with her favorite table, it was in a private enough corner next to the wine room and was perfect for me and my SO to enjoy each other's company. Travis was our server and talk about just amazing service, he was so polite, talkative, informative and just fun to interact with. His timing was perfect, he knew when to ask if we wanted more drinks, when to fill our water back up, he knew when we were talking and to come back and not interrupt. Honestly it was a delightful experience, the service alone earned the five stars. The food was fantastic as well, my SO had the Skirt Steak special and myself the NY Strip, both were delicious, prepared exactly how we asked (Med Rare of course!) And overall fantastic. To top it all off we had the Key Lime Pie and Travis added a special little nod to our 3 year anniversary. We will absolutely be back, I suggest any one else consider Vernale's for a special occasion, or even just for a great meal with fantastic service.
