Zacatecas Mexican Grill & Tequila Lounge

Omg, where do I start!? EVERYTHING was sublime from the minute we stepped in the door. Ernesto gave us a detailed description of the menu with beautiful pictures. Our server Manny provided exceptional service and was so sweet and friendly. The drinks were amazing. I LOVED the Chipotle Margarita rimmed with Tajin. We each had a different entree and each one tasted magnificent as well as being visually stunning. Cannot wait to come back!

Let me start off with if your in a rush this isn’t the place to go. But if you want the best meal you have ever had, this is the place to be. I have spent many years in the military and traveled all over the world and may have had my best meal ever here. We did sit at the bar which has a limited menu but none the less it was still amazing. Ernesto, our bartender walked us through everything. We tried 4 different Margarita’s (all of which are infused and on the rocks). They did not disappoint. We followed it up with oysters in the shell. For the entree we had Grouper, shrimp, octopus, on rice and grilled in pineapple halves. If your looking for a great date night, give them a call, reserve a spot (as with any place right now they are running short staffed) and get here as soon as you can!!! If I could give more stars I would!

We had a fabulous meal at Zacatecas. I would highly recommend trying their specials as they are limited time offerings and all are delicious! But if you're looking for something more traditional, their regular menu is great also.

I would advise making recommendations before going, as the first time we showed up, there was an hour wait. Be prepared to spend a bit of money, but the meal will be delicious!

Try the House Margarita - you won't regret it.

Excellent food, superior service. Drinks are phenomenal. If you haven't tried it yet, do it. High end authentic Mexican cuisine.

If you have been sitting on making a visit to Ernesto you are missing out. I waited far too long to discover this gem.

Everything looked and tasted amazing! Do not be dissuaded by the humble exterior this is an experience you will not want to miss!

This is my in laws favorite restaurant in Neenah. Every time I come I have amazing cocktails and delicious food - the special menu is where it's at. I forgot to snap a pic of the oysters and crab cakes because we ate them so quickly. Really loved the fish tacos. Side note - Ernesto is like family. He's a great guy and runs a classy place. He gave our baby boy a tour of the bar.

The food at Zacateca's is ALWAYS excellent. They have had the same chefs for over 10 years. Margaritas are the best I've ever had.

Zacatecas is an amazing Mexican restaurant. They have a special menu that rotates every few weeks. It often features seafood, which is prevalent throughout Mexico's coastal regions. Follow them on Instagram to see the latest offerings. Their scratch Margarita is worth the indulgence, though you will never be able to drink what other places call a margarita. My most recent meal was Mahi Mahi fish tacos with shrimp and a tomato sauce, served with maple glazed plantains. Very pretty red & green meal to kick off the holidays in festive downtown Neenah. Just a mile off highway 41, you should stop in on your way to Green Bay or Door County. Good Covid measures in place, too.

Mexican owned, like a true Mexican business. Food is some of the most authentic we’ve found within 100 miles, and the whole place still feels high end. I ordered street tacos and they tasted great and nostalgic, and still had high end presentation. All of their drinks are Stunning, and presentations are unreal.

Only thing; you’ll need a reservation. We made it in without one because it happened to be light, but the owner was really a stickler about it and made it feel kind of unwelcoming. That being said, once we made it in and he warmed up to us he was very welcoming and all the servers were terrific. I would have rated them lower if I didn’t feel like it was worth it.

One of the best meals I've had in a long time. I had the steak chimichurri and the flavour profile was off the chart. Our server knew the food and drink menu inside out and the experience was fantastic. Big recommendation for anyone in Neenah looking for a great spot for dinner and cocktails.

Hands down the best meal I’ve had at a restaurant EVER! I wish I could remember the names of the dishes, I had the appetizer with squid, and the salmon on top of the lasagne. Both dishes were so expertly crafted, absolute perfection. The attention to detail in the textures and flavors was apparent, it’s clear the chef crafting these dishes really knows their stuff! And let’s talk about the margaritas. Best margaritas I’ve ever had, they were delicious, unique, and strong! They infuse their own tequila and let me tell you that makes such a difference. I have never been so completely satisfied with a meal. I could go on and on about this place and how amazing it is. The fact that this place isn’t rated higher is a travesty. The portion sizes were perfect and the price is exactly what I expect to pay for higher end dishes. If you want to get sloppy full on the cheap, maybe this isn’t your place. If you want an absolutely amazing dinner with fabulous margaritas, this is the place! We will be back!

We hadn't been here in years and it's changed a lot! We had no dinner reservations but were seated after a few minutes. The menu is not the average Mexican food menu you'll find everywhere else. It's pricey, but it was delicious! The menu changes every couple of weeks too. I had the Pollo a la lena and my wife had scallops and both were great. We tried 3 different handmade margaritas too. We'll be back.

I was here for dinner one night with a friend. I had the tamales and they were excellent. The service was outstanding and I would highly recommend this place.

Best Restaurant in Neenah (and possibly the Fox Valley) by a long shot. Negative reviews must be fabricated, we go here biweekly and have never had less than a 5 star experience. Slightly more expensive than typical Mexican food, but that's because it tastes much better than typical Mexican food in the area; it's worth every penny. Salsa was strange at first, but I find myself preferring it this way now that I'm used to it.
The regular menu is great, but the specials (that change every 2 weeks) are a phenomenal experience- I doubt there are many other places in the Midwest that serve Mexican food this tasty.
Sergio and Ernesto are always extremely kind and helpful, couldn't ask for a better experience every time we visit.

I have tried tons of Mexican Restaurants all over Mexico and the states and this restaurant easily can compete with the best ones.My boyfriend asked for a Tampiqueña and the meat quality was amazing. They make the drink exactly how I wanted even it wasn't on the drink menu. I am definitely coming back again.

An absolute GEM in Neenah. Levels above the cuisine in the area and a god send for foodies in what’s otherwise a very “fried/burger” oasis. Exquisite pairings and sensational flavors with constantly rotating menus that leave me with audible gasps and “WOW”s every time. It was such a treat and had family drive from hours away to enjoy. Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, nothing wasn’t divine that I’ve tried. Moved to California, otherwise this was certainly the go-to on the weekend if I wanted to treat myself. Can’t wait to be back someday. Ernesto is doing the lords work here!

This is a favorite of ours! We sit in the bar area and have a perfectly mixed cocktail and then follow up with the most authentic and yet creative entrees, but first one of the amazing small plates!! . The menu changes so there is always something new to try! Ernesto is the best at what he does!
