Stockholm Pie Available at Stoneware Cafe and Mandy's Coffee in Red Wing

Super cute little Cafe on the second floor of the historic Pottery Place. We enjoyed good sandwiches and great pie. They had plenty of options. The staff was friendly. Many locals ordered out while others dined in and enjoyed the ambiance. I also purchased some items from the darling General store on the first floor. Cute gifts, nostalgic candy, candles, kitchen items, socks and so much more.

If you love homemade pie this place is worth the trip, most definitely. It was about two hours roundtrip for me, but it's a cute place and the food is also really good. But the pie. You need to order ahead if you want an entire pie or a specific pie, but you can get slices and they have "pie cookies." If you love pie crust, you gotta get a pie cookie. This is probably the only place I'd actually pay for an entire pie and be happy. Actually homemade and so delicious.

Quaint corner cafe on the second floor with a selective menu of sandwiches, quiches, pot pies and the ever necessary pies. Located in the famed 1877 stoneware factory building this little slice of heaven embraces the rugged wood floors, authentic brick interior and the oilcloth covered tables. My Classic Chicken Pot Pie was a nice mixture of large chunks of chicken, mixed vegetables in a savory sauce baked in a flaky, warm crust. My wife’s Apple Sausage Quiche was also very tasty with a cheesy, flaky texture. Both came with a side salad of fresh mixed greens, cucumbers, croutons, tomatoes in a vinaigrette dressing. Tiffany was an exceptional host, offering suggestions and working with us in our ever present state of confusion. A general store is located on the main floor with the ever available touristy items and a selection of candies and chocolates. One can also browse the antiques located throughout or take in the fine art at the Abode Gallery.

I would have taken pictures of the pies themselves but I ate mine so fast. I think the best value for money for an individual or small group here is getting their pie cookies, which are essentially apple turnovers (they have other flavors don’t worry). Otherwise their whole pie selection is probably the best bet for a bigger. They have unique pie flavors but very few of the staples.

Yummy food and amazing pie! Fantastic service, very friendly which shows they were happy to work there. I had the beef pot pie with side salad, and a slice of blueberry buttermilk pie with homemade whipped cream.

Random pick for lunch today. Chicken salad sandwich with chips. It is made with dried cranberries, which I have not experienced previously in any chicken salad. Makes for a superb flavor addition and has my vote for best sandwich I've had this year.

Came for the pie, loved the food! The pies and crust used in breakfast items are the best. There are several outstanding sandwiches as well.

Fantastic pies, deli sandwiches, grilled sandwiches, savory and pot pies and salads. The chicken pot pie is an instant favorite. Try a pie shake or cookie.

Chicken pot pie was very good and tasted very fresh. The cherry pie was the best cherry pie I've ever had. Great little place!

PIE COOKIE that’s all you need to know. They are perfectly sized little tastes of pie heaven. We also enjoyed a sandwich and even took a small pie to enjoy later. Everything for a perfect fall lunch. The environment and decor are a must see.

As another has mentioned, I forgot to take a picture of the chicken pot pie. We got the last 2 of the day. After tasting it I understand why there are none left. Full crust in a smaller pie tin. This is set upon a regular pie tin with a salad. Plenty of meat and vegetables enveloped into a flaky crust having you wanting another bite.

Absolutely delicious all around. Our family dined here for a late lunch. The salads were fresh, the sandwiches perfect, the soup excellent, and the pot pie to die for. A lot of love and care is put into the food made here, and it shows. The staff is so friendly, too. Pie Plate is a gem of Red Wing and we'll stop in every time we're in town.

Wonderful sandwiches! Really interesting dining area inside the old Red Wing pottery building. They also sell a lot of really hard to find nostalgia candy and pop that I haven't seen since the 70's.

A coworker recommended this place to me, and I’m so glad. I enjoyed a salad with bleu cheese, apple, and pecans, which I ordered to make myself feel better about the delicious slice of chocolate cream pie I also religiously devoured. I definitely recommend this spot! There are a few little two-person tables nearby to enjoy your repast. And afterwards you can shop for antiques in the same building.

Bring your appetite! The food satisfies even the pickiest eater...me. I had the Turkey sandwich and it was super yummy. I won't be eating the rest of the day. Please come see these guys! It is worth skipping breakfast to have lunch at the Pie Plate Cafe

Wonderful from-scratch dishes in really cool restored-factory digs. The pie cookies were a marvel and the BLT and quiche were excellent! The food came out in a timely manner and was perfectly prepared.

The pies are amazing! I have had great service experiences as well! Today I got there 3 minutes to closing hoping I could get a whole pie to go yet. The place was shutting down and the gal was so sweet and helpful. I got 2 big pies and she even helped carry them to my car, which is down steps and not parked right in front of the door. Definitely going above and beyond!

I love the food and atmosphere at the Pie Plate in Red Wing. My only major disappointment today was they are not carrying the Swedish hand pie which is my favorite. Please bring it back. I order it every time.

Neat little shop in historic Red Wing building. Up stairs cafe has the best pies. I've had the chicken pot pies, and they are among the best I've ever had. Their kitchen area is small, but they make some wonderful lunch and desert creations.
