Stockholm Pie and General Store

One word! AMAZING! What an absolutely lovely little cafe to have lunch & pie. I had the Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad Sandwich & I am telling you it is the best I’ve ever had! Yum! The dressing and a little crunch from the cucumber and served on Cranberry Wild rice bread! I had multiple customers asking me what it was. Also had the Lemon Lavender pie which was heavenly! The 2 gentlemen behind the counter were so personable. So nice to have wonderful customer service! Definitely will be back to this lovely little small town! Thank you for your hospitality!

When we first got there, we could not believe there were so many people lining the streets of this tiny town - and they had a great reason to be there - Stockholm Pie and General Store. Lots of classic candy on the general store side, and the pie was absolutely amazing. It was warm and the cherry pie filling was perfect, crust was flakey, and so happy that I opted in to try the whipped cream… a full scoop of whipped cream that tasted just like ice cream. What an awesome find! Wish I could come back to try more sweet and savory pies.

Stockholm Pie and General Store in Stockholm, WI is a magical restaurant located on the Wisconsin side of Lake Pepin. Situated on US-hwy 35/WI Great River Road, this iconic business is easy to find and shouldn’t be missed.

As a local, I appreciate the restaurant’s variety of delicious, quality foods from their chicken pot pies, sandwiches/wraps and salads to ice cream, coffee and of course, their world-famous pies!

For those that are gluten free, they have meal options, GF pie on the weekends and prepackaged GF treats (cookies and/or brownies). If you have your heart set on a certain flavor of GF pie, be sure to call ahead and order it a few days in advance. The staff are always eager to accommodate my GF restrictions!

Lastly, this business is known to be busy, but the service is very efficient, staff are amazing, welcoming and inclusive. The business is clean, organized and great for all ages. Additionally, they now have an event area for smaller weddings, pie tastings, craft/vendor markets, mother-daughter teas and so much more!

Pot pies were great. Lots of filling, flakey crust top and bottom. I'm used to a filling that's not quite so thick and could have used another minute or two in the oven. But great flavor and serving size. Got my pie for carry out 'cuz I'm stuffed! Worth a stop (and maybe another on the way home!)

Wonderful little shop that has grown in recent years. The sandwiches & pie are wonderful as is the coffee. There is now a larger gift shop with lots of fudge, truffles, jams & wine.
They also told us they have space upstairs to host groups up to 50 so this may be a new stop for our car club when we do tours along the Great River Road.

What a cool little town! All the shops here look interesting. This Cafe/dinner/general store is a must see!

Stockholm Pie and General Store is an adorable restaurant/store in the charming tiny town of Stockholm. The Kentucky Bourbon Walnut pie was delicious. The wild rice soup was good. Iced mocha hit the spot.

This is a must-stop. 🙌 watch out the pie goes fast so get there early. Bumble pie is my favorite 😍. (4 berries in one pie.) I bought a whole pie and did not want to share when I got home. Jolted Cow is my go-to ice cream. Yummm

I always stop. Been going here since it was just a tiny part of a building in 2008. They have grown and improved upon their legendary quality. The best pie you'll find within hundreds of miles. The banana cream is a personal favorite. But any slice will please.

Excellent pies. Frozen take and bake pies. Nice little sandwich shop. Somewhat awkward cafeteria counter ordering system involving a pager and maybe your name shouted. They must get extremely busy at times for such an elaborate system for a small restaurant. They do get extremely busy sometimes.

Best pie and sandwich shop hands down . A must try and if you ever get a chance , come during apple season for homemade apple dumplings with homemade vanilla icecream. Absolutely heavenly good.

We stopped as almost an afterthought while taking a nice drive along the river. I can honestly say we've never tasted pies like this. The most amazing flavor, perfect crust. No pie I've ever tasted comes close You can't drive by without stopping, or even make it a destination to visit a really nice little river town.

This place is more like a 4.7 stars. Very quaint and not fussy. They have vegetarian as well as meat options for food. We didn't end up going into the store itself just had lunch and dessert. The happy hippy wrap was delicious and well seasoned. It did come with a tiny side of house made pickles (cucumber slices with the pickle juice). My spouse ate the cucumbers and small pieces of onion and the pickle juice that's how good it was. He's not much of a veggie fan so that was impressive. My spouse got the chicken pot pie which he said was delicious. Super flaky crust and filling was on point. It came with a side salad. For dessert we each got a slice of pie, one apple and the other raspberry and blackberry. The slices were like a 4th of a 9 inch pie with copious amounts of whip cream on top. My raspberry/blackberry pie was great for the first 2 bites and that became way too sweet! I tried to balance it out with the whip cream but eventually ended up trying to scoop out filling and eat the crust. The crust is everything you would want a crust to be. Definitely a place we would go back to!!

Best chicken potpie I've ever had! Delicious flaky crust, perfect moistness and balance of the filling. Filling and wholesome, but not heavy or stodgy. Really great, you can tell this recipe has been perfected over time. I didn't get a chance to try their other pies but I'll have to make a stop back soon!

Quant cute local store. Hidden Gem. Pies are off the charts good! loved the cherry pie. Extra creamy thick Chocolate pie!
Wife likes the true lemon Flavor in the “Double Lemon”.
Special order a full pie! By the slice is still just as satisfying

Stockholm is on our list for sure, at least twice/year we make the trek south, and no better time than the fall. These three connected spaces all have something to offer; we hit the pie section last. So many unique and artsy gift pieces, to old time candies, cards, and novelties, topped off with pie! A really wonderful autumn experience.

Unbeatable pie, their selection of unique and delicious sandwiches is to die for. Well worth the trip. I just wish they still had the cafe in Red Wing as well but it gives me an excuse to take a gorgeous scenic drive.

We stopped here for lunch, the sandwiches were very good but the real treat here is the pie. We got two flavors and both were incredible!

A must stop when you find yourself anywhere near Stockholm! Delicious pie, fun gift shop, friendly staff - what more could you want?!

Had a chicken pot pie & a piece of blackberry peach pie alamode.
The crust on each was outstanding.
Also had a coffee which was hot & had a great traditional coffee flavor.
Slightly spendy meal but worth it.
I will return.
