Old Mill Restaurant

I'm not an Austin native and this was my first time to the Old Mill. Heard it was the place to go for a lovely meal and I was not disappointed!

Service was awesome, I wish I could remember the name of young lady who waited on us. My partner had the ribeye and I had the walleye. Portions are huge, piping hot and delicious.

I was told it was more of a business casual dress code, however I observed it was pretty casual and people were dressed in anything from date attire to jeans and a ball cap. Great place for families too during the main dinner hour. Kids are definitely welcome.

The biggest surprise to me though was the whiskey and bourbon list! Holy cow was it huge! Not only that, but the liquor prices were unbelievably reasonable! We would have spent twice as much back in the cities. Really nice surprise. Will definitely be back!

We were looking for somewhere new to try and decided to head to Austin, Minnesota. The Old Mill was an amazing experience. Great bloody Mary! The food was delicious. We had the Trio and also tried the soup of today which was the Asparagus Bisque --YUM!! We were seated at a table that overlooked the water. We drove from Iowa (not too far) and will be back.

Stopped in here on a whim. Visiting from out of town and had no idea that reservations were highly recommended. Host was more than accommodating and sat us. I would recommend reservations just so you know you're guaranteed a table though because this place was delicious.

Atmosphere was gorgeous. Food was delicious. We had burgers and poutine fries. If we lived closer, we would be back!

First off this is our first time eating here. The food was amazing the bill was a little spendy but definitely worth it for the quality of the food for the area. Their desert was amazing as well. They were down a cook but still happened to get our food out in a very timely manner. Bartender also went above and beyond and we can't forget about the waitress as she also put up with our jokes and did very well as well. We will definitely return to hopefully expirence the same food and service again. Definitely worth the 5 stars.

My husband and I came for my birthday. The food and service was top notch! I noticed I had a double charge on my bank account, I called the restaurant and they immediately took action to investigate and reimburse me! Will definitely go back!!

The service was fantastic, despite how busy they were. We were very happy to find a place with such great atmosphere in the area. The menu had many great options, but we tried the smash burger and juicy lucy. Both were delicious and would highly recommend. We defiantly have plans to come back and try more of the menu items. The "backyard" are is beautiful and will most defiantly we on our list for next spring/summer. It was nice refreshing to find a place so unique with such great service.

The best place to eat in Austin and finest quality in town by a wide margin. If you are someone who is particular and wants freshly prepared food in Ausitn, this is THE place to go. I recently purchased a gift card (glad to see they offer email options now, last time they had to mail it). My only negative feedback, I would prefer The Old Mill partner with a company like Toast or something that allows for direct credit card transactions online and can be instantly texted or emailed to the recipient. Currently, the process goes through a third party (Venmo or Paypal) which is disjointed and interrupts the process. I did not receive a receipt and the recipient hasn't gotten their gift card yet.

It was our first time visiting and it was wonderful. Our waitress was fantastic. Wish I would have gotten her name. We will be returning.

My most favorite place to go out to eat. Being raised in a family owned restaurant, I GREATLY appreciate everything that the Old Mill had to offer :) Fantastic hearty meals and not to mention the best steaks around - and trust me, I am picky! PS- Even though you will be stuffed, you HAVE to save room for dessert.

Great meal, great service, and wonderful atmosphere. Haven't been there since I was a teen growing up in the area. We all had the prime rib. They were huge cuts, and unlike some places they were only lightly seasoned which let the quality of the beef come through.

Highly recommend the Old Mill's holiday drink menu! The Christmas Cookie and Jack Frost were my favorites!

Started with the bacon wrapped sausage stuffed medjool dates for an appetizer. These are worth the trip by themselves. I then had the French onion soup, which was very good. For my entree, I had the 6 ounce filet mignon wrapped in bacon. The filet was tender, delicious, and cooked to perfection. There are several add-on options, so I opted for the shrimp scampi to make it surf n turf. The shrimp were a great complement to the filet. To finish such a great meal I had to have dessert. The amaretto cake was the perfect choice. It has layers of mousse and cake topped with whipped cream.

Went last year for my work Christmas party, best place I've ever been too and can't wait to go this year for our Christmas party again 🤗

One of the best restaurant experiences in a long time!! Zach was our server and he was absolutely the best!!! Zach recommended the potato skins for an appetizer. Oh my gosh they were so delicious! The thousand island dressing on my salad was made in house as was my wife’s ranch. The breadstick was unreal!! I had the prime rib which is a Friday/Saturday night special. Very good!! My wife had the ribeye and it was delicious. We splurged and split the Malibu Rum cake. It was so light and delicious. We drove an hour to eat here. It was well worth the drive. Great atmosphere with views of the Cedar River. We will definitely come back.

Best dinner place in Austin. One of the best steaks I have ever had. Could of cut the steak with a butter knife. The view is absolutely beautiful. Wonderful couple who run the place.

We just stopped for a couple of drinks before we went to a nearby wedding reception, so I can't comment on the food. The service, atmosphere, and quality of our cocktails was excellent, though. I am looking forward to visiting again soon.

Only reason they get 4 stars is because I don't believe in 5 star reviews.

This place is amazing. The food is good, and you get a very generous portion for the prices listed. Erin and I go here almost every weekend I come home. It is our favorite restaurant. The service is prompt, and the food is well prepared. The atmosphere is one of a kind. If you're gonna eat here make sure you make a reservation.
