To be honest, there are no words to describe how amazing our meals were. We had the Shitake Mushroom Ravioli and the Chicken Parmesan with side Caesar Salads. WOW. The sauces, texture, flavour....just incredible!!! Our waitress was the sweetest, as were the rest of the staff!!! Portions are huge and we're excited for seconds, possibly thirds later!!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!!

Lovely little place. I've been on multiple occasions and the food is always delicious. The staff is always warm and welcoming. Their desserts are very good.
Would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

One of my favorite places for lunch! The Chief's Special and salad with parmasean peppercorn dressing is simple and delicious! 10/10 recommended.

We visited on a recent, busy Saturday evening. We made reservations and we were seated promptly when we arrived. Service was excellent and food was plentiful and delicious. I love the atmosphere here which is sort of like a diner but bigger and a little nicer. It's no frills but who cares as long as the food is good and it is. If I had one complaint it's that the woman at the checkout could stop acting like everyone bothers her. She's in customer service position and if she's bothered that much by people, she should be reassigned.

I went for lunch and it was beyond delicious. I got pasta of the day linguine with sausage and peppers, and it was terrific . The sausage tasted homemade, and it wS a cross between sweet and hot. I will call it just perfect. Service was awesome ,quick, and attentive. On the way out, I picked up babka bread and garlic rolls . Both are 😋 delicious. I was pleasantly surprised that they now take credit cards also . Next time, I will be getting lunch and a dinner or two to go.

Franklin's is my favorite Italian restaurant in Rome, NY.
They now take card payments also!

Their almond paste cookies are perfect.

The Cajun shrimp and scallops pasta was delicious : the sea food was perfectly cooked.
The Fiorentine chicken was very generous in size and colorful.

When I was a kid this place was always a special treat to stop at for canolis, and through the years that hasn't changed! Some of the best pastries in the area for sure, especially if you're looking for Italian leaning desserts. Their food is great as well. They have always made a fantastic au ju sauce. They have a cozy, rustic atmosphere. Very cozy vibe. Tables are closer together, it might not be everyone's taste, but there are different areas with different layouts if you prefer more space. They also do banquets, parties, etc. They can be pretty full at times & busy, but that doesn't take away from the service quality, though you might have to wait an extra few minutes to be seated, etc. Very much worth it. If you're just visiting or a local, it's a must visit in the area for sure. Definitely in my top & they have consistently been for like 20 years.

Italian staple in rome. Huge portions, cheap prices. Chicken francaise is my favorite with a plate of spaghetti and the fresh baked bread. Great staff too

The food was awesome great fish fry dinner. The staff was very friendly. I highly suggest getting one of their delicious bake goods. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone. Worth the drive.

My friends and I have been here several times. We have never had a bad meal and the service is excellent. One of my favorite places to eat when I’m in the area. Love the home made bread.

Don't be fooled by the exterior, it's a hreat place for good homemade food. I had a delicious chicken vegetable soup and a pear and walnut salad with a homemade citrus dressing that couldn't be beat. They DO take credit cards now.

First of all let me just say the service was incredible! Our waitress was so sweet, kind and helpful!
We ordered Broccoli Francaise! We never heard of it before. We expected little pieces. The pieces were huge! It was so good we couldn't stop eating it! We could have just had that.
When our meals came stuffed shells and Chicken Zachary we realized that HUGE portions must just be the norm in Italian restaurants. I had the Chicken Zachary and it was absolutely delicious! I love the chicken with broccoli, mushrooms and cherry peppers served over Utica greens with a rich brown sauce. Simply delicious!

Always insanely delicious food, great staff, family friendly..will be back again and again!
Ordered cesare side salad..huge! Had the broccoli, cavatelli and lemon garlic sauce! Amazing!

What can be said about the Franklin except that it never disappoints. Our club has been going for turkey dinner w. all the fixings for years now and it is a dinner I always anticipate with glee! Food is amazing, service is exceptional, We have been there for other occasions and also just with a couple friends for dinner. There is never a complaint! I hear the desserts are fabulous too, but who has room for dessert after a Hotel Franklin meal? Not I.

Came in for lunch. Most unique sausage sandwich ever - built between two pieces of homemade bread and covered in excellent sauce. This thing is huge! Nice service, great old place, definitely check it out

Best Italian pastries by far! Homemade in house and fresh. I come here every time I go to Upstate NY! Must go if you haven’t! Lobster tails and cannolis are my favorites. If you’re catering order the Sarah burnharts!

This place is an absolute gem! The food was insanely yummy. I got the gnocchi in a basil cream sauce and my boyfriend got the ravioli with shitake mushrooms.

Their chicken parm is fantastic. I get it almost every time and their desserts are the best. Don't leave without trying one or taking it home like I do.
