Came for the pie...just as good as I remembered from 32 years ago! Had the breakfast omelet special and a couple pieces of pie. Service with a smile, great small town vibe. Room for groups in the addition! An added bonus, we noticed 3 generations of family working here on Saturday. That says it all!

The Crystal Cafe is famous for their pie, but their burgers and fries are darn good too. The place is two stone fronts wide, so the seating area is quite sizable. It was super clean inside, and the staff was attentive. I took down the monstrous Heart Stopper burger. Luckily, my ticker kept on a going, so I could enjoy the delicious homemade fries as well. The only downside was that the burger was well done instead of medium, and owing to its mass, there was not much room for pie either. Anyway, I look forward to stopping again because the breakfast is supposed to be good. We also saw the Friday fish go by, and it looked stellar. I believe a slice of pie is included somehow in their fish specials, too. Is it clear that the place is noteworthy? Yeah, crystal...

Everything we had was delicious! Iced coffee, pecan pie, breakfast sandwich, and farmers skillet - all so good! The service was quick and friendly.

This was my first time to Crystal Cafe. I was visiting a friend in Iola and he suggested that we stop here for lunch. The first thing I noticed when we pulled up was the Pies 2 Die 4 sign. It definitely captured my attention.
The inside of the cafe is very nice with brick walls, wood top dining tables, an old school dining counter, and a nice assortment of antiques, wall decorations, and historical photographs. It's very comfortable. I felt like I was walking back in time.
Service at this cafe is outstanding. We were seated and had our drinks within a couple of minutes. Both the host and our server were small town friendly and very attentive.
I had the heart stopper burger; two farm fresh hand made burgers with cheddar, Swiss, caramelized onions, pickles, bacon, mayo on the side, and homemade French fries. It was the best burger that I have ever had here in Wisconsin. The flavor and juiciness of the burger were deliciously incredible. Our server informed us that they mix all their meat in-house using the highest quality locally sourced beef. I would also like to mention that this cafe has been in business for 75 years.
Unfortunately, I didn't have any room left for pie, but they have a large selection of pies that are made fresh in-house. They also have a nice selection of homemade jams.

I fell in love with this cafe the moment I walked in the door. Wonderful small town hospitality at its finest. And the food, well, words do the food very little justice. You are simply going to have to experience this cafe for yourself.

I had been following this restaurant on Facebook for about a year, hoping I would travel through the area and be able to stop for a piece of pie. Today was my lucky day!
I ordered breakfast and a piece of pie. Pie with breakfast? Absolutely! According to several articles I had read about the Crystal Cafe, they are famous for their pies.
The pie was served first, as I was hoping it would be.
Oh My Goodness, the pie was INCREDIBLE!!! I ordered the Caramel Apple Pie, and every bite was amazingly delicious!
The apple pie was served warm, and it was sweet, rich, and decadent. The crust was flakey yet had good body to it. The apple pieces in the pie were cut just the right size - generous - not too small, and not too large.
The pie was covered with a caramel sauce, which was fabulous!
When my breakfast was brought to the table, I took a bite to be polite... but continued with the pie until it was completely eaten. It was SO, so good!
Later, I did have a few bites of my breakfast. I had ordered 2 eggs over-easy, bacon, and toast. The eggs were perfectly prepared, yet I couldn't eat much of them due to being full of pie, LOL.
Starting my breakfast with pie was a genius decision, and I encourage you to start your breakfast that way, too!
I very highly recommend the Crystal Cafe!

This quaint cafe lives up to it’s reputation! The portions are very generous so beware!....save room for the excellent pies! The Chicken Salad sandwich was delicious and the Chicken Pot Pie soup, warm, satisfying and loaded with veggies and chicken.
There were at least 20 flavors of pie to choose from. We went with mile high banana cream and Door County cherry. We also grabbed cookies to go! Will gladly come again!

I love this place! The food is amazing, homemade and super tasty! The people are warm and friendly. If they have a Kielbasa special, get it! If you leave without pie you're missing out bigtime. Highly recommended!

While driving around Amherst and Stevens Point, WI we found little Iola. And boy are we glad we did!! The Crystal Cafe was a blast from the past..a four generation blast to be exact. The burgers were good burgers, but BETTER! Loaded fries are yummy and just greasy enough. Soup special was tomato/basil…perfect for dunking my grilled ham and cheese sammie. You can enjoy a beer/wine or have a cup of coffee. Prices are very affordable but the best of the menu are their award winning home baked pies. We took to go a piece of apple crisp and our friends got a big piece of coconut cream. The staff was so friendly and sweet. No problem tipping here. Saw some antique shops too but we were on a mission. You will enjoy every bite here!

We had Crystal Cafe provide the pies for our wedding in September, and our guests loved it! Sadie was great to work with leading up to our big day, and the staff that came to deliver was efficient and the dessert table looked great. The amount of pie flavors they have is incredible!

I have been going to Crystal's for my entire life! I can't bare to go to Iola without making a stop. Our family favorites are the Chocolate-Peanut Butter Pie, Apple Crisp, and their Homemade Berry Jelly. The staff is always so sweet and service is great! They make you feel right at home. :-)

Great place to stop and eat at in Iola, WI. Staff is down to earth. Alot of food for the buck. Pies too along with cream puffs. I ordered the egg salad BLT. OMG it was oh so good. And made with homemade bread. I think there french toast would be good. Well worth the stop.

I drove two hours to try out the crystal cafe after hearing about it a few months ago. Absolutely the best pie I have ever eaten. The french toast and homemade toast was amazing. Completely worth the drive and every penny. I recommend the door county cherry pie for sure and I guarantee I will be back for dinner one day.

Ordered 2 pies for a family gathering. As promised they were scratch made and delicious. A bit pricey, but the time saved and skill of these home made pies made it worth it.

This cafe is one of the best places I have ever ate at. The waitress was kind and the restaurant was adorable. All of the food my boyfriend and I ordered was a 10/10, but those burgers…let me tell you…those are the best burgers we have ever eaten. I have never been so satisfied with my meal before. Crystals Cafe has an amazing cook, and sweet waitresses. Will definitely eat there again, and definitely recommend!
