The food was excellent. The taco al pastor was very tasty. The flautas were excellent. The pork chop was juicy, and the steak was tender.

Pictures this: two starving, famished students have been ravaged by their finals. Their room is filthy, they’ve been pulling all nighters to study and they barely have energy to stagger back to their dorm and pack before the school evicts them. But there’s a beacon of hope, light that shines at the end of the tunnel, a fire that roars in the face of adversity. For us, that came in the form of Rudys cafe. Immediately we were getting good vibes from the cute little decorations on the wall and the cozy booth seats. We began our meal with complementary chips (very tasty, recommend the green sauce) and excellent service. We ordered the quesabirria tacos for 14 dollars, which came with a side of guacamole? In this economy? There was a delicious, hearty soup on the side as well where you could dunk the crisp tacos wrapped around the juicy birria meat to get the most heavenly, tangy and warm flavour that just burst inside our mouths. We devoured the tacos in no time, and I can only describe Rudys as a culinary odyssey, an uphill rollercoaster, ambrosia served straight from the birria taco gods… It was a perfect lunch to end an otherwise abysmal week.

They open late which is a huge plus for people work late night. They’re welcoming even at close to closing time. And food was made fairly quickly and with no comprises in the taste.
Ordered chicken tacos and fish tacos. I’d say fish tacos should have been eaten there and not taken away, which made them soggy. But chicken remained super hot and soft.

Food was delicious and I’d highly recommend this place.

We were in NJ for a quick family trip and this was the perfect place for lunch.
The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Every person who stoped by our table was extremely kind and did their job well.
The best thing about this place was the fact that it included a mix of cultural foods. For example they had salchipapas which is an Ecuadorian appetizer, and Guatemalan food.
I had the fried snapper with salad, rice and beans, which tasted great!
Definitely recommend this place as a good place to eat.

Stopped by for lunch and ordered the shrimp tacos that were on special to find out this place serves authentic and excellent food. The pico de gallo was freshly made and the guac was equally good. I recommend giving them a try when you’re near or in town.

Delicious fresh food. Homemade tortillas, made fresh for my meal. So glad I stumbled upon this eatery. Will definitely visit again! 5 star.

Their food is delicious !! I can't believe I lived in the neighborhood for three years and only just tried this place. Ordered chicharrones and a pork dish. Portions were huge and everything was delicious from rice and beans to the spicy sauces to the pork. I will be back.

It was my first time trying this kind of food, so I was a bit rushed, but the waiters here quickly put me at ease. The food was affordable and delicious, and the waiters were really friendly! It made for a great evening.

This place is a hidden gem!

No picture's of the food but I ordered the garlic shrimp with rice and a side of the fried chicken which was 2 fried legs and 1 thigh.

We also had an order of shrimp tacos and my husband said they were good.

It was delicious, I went in and ordered Takeout. It took about 20 mins or so for the food to be cooked so next time I'll order ahead!

I always say " Know" before you say " No". Give this place a try 👌🏽

Their seafood soup is delicious. If you like spicy 🌶 food this is the one. You can request extra hot sauce

The other reviewers are entirely correct, Rudy's Cafe IS the best secret in the region for food. Fresh, and so delicious. They definitely do it right here. Go here for the food and try different things. I am very partial to the Grilled Sirloin Steak with Rice, Black Beans, and sweet plantains. OMG! For 13.95, your hearing me right, it is as tasty as any steak I can get in far more expensive steakhouses. Rudy has his own proprietary special seasonings that are fantastic. In fact, I prefer that meal to the Steak dinners I've had at Steakhouses in the area.
This is my go to place for great food in the Manalapan-Marlboro-Howell-Freehold area. It's not the location or the bowling alley attached my friends, it's the magic of Rudy's food.

I was looking for a place with authentic Mexican flavors in the area, Rudys got it right!!! Plenty of choices, and all is well made. It has been a year and I had never been disappointed.

Great food and friendly staff. Best little secret in the area! Located inside the bowling alley but the food is not what you would expect. It’s delicious!!!! Both Mexican dishes and American dishes all very tasty!

When I first got to Rudys, I was the first person in my party to arrive. I was greeted warmly, my drink order was taken, and I was seated in a booth with reassurances that an eye would be kept out for the other people I was meeting. It was large, very clean, with what appeared to be a full-service bar and there was a large party room towards the back of the restaurant that was being decorated for a holiday party.

The food is Mexican and Central/South American, and from what I could tell from my empanadas and everyone's reaction to the food, very good. The proprietor also gave my friend a glass of wine and piece of cake on the house because we were there to celebrate her birthday. Clean, casual, with good food.
