Coachlight Cafe

Went to this place because I saw it was highly rated. It DID NOT disappoint! This place is excellent. Definitely would recommend going here. The staff were friendly and helpful, the service was quick, and the food WAS DELICIOUS.

This was my first time here but they helped me with the menu. I had the Badger Burger deluxe. It was pretty good. It has a half pound patty and comes with lettuce and tomato.

The atmosphere was great. The theme of the place was nice. I also thought it was great because I didn’t get cold while I was there. Some restaurants make it unbearably cold to try to get people out, but this place didn’t.

Overall, a great experience. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Valentine. If you are in Valentine, check this place out.

Lovely place with great food & superb service! My family all got different burgers and they were all excellent! The menu had good selections for everyone in your crew at reasonable prices. They did a great job accommodating our food allergy, although they didn’t seem to know all of the cross contamination so we skipped everything fried (the safe bet); depending you may have a challenge. The place was clean & well maintained. The bathroom was clean & nicely maintained as well. The service was excellent; she checked on us several times and we always had full drinks. If you’re in a hurry, you will have to wait a bit because they are fresh cooked meals (yum!)! We thought the burgers were well made & had a lot of flavor. Parking is on the street, but was easy to find a spot. Floors are flat and plenty of space making it wheelchair accessible. Highly recommend!!

Our server was fast and friendly. Our glasses stayed full. It wasn't busy on a Saturday evening. Our burgers were good and hot.

It could use a refresh; new carpet and booth fabric.

This wonderful local Café was so good. We decided to come back the next day and eat again. Service was very good and of course the food was sumptuous. Thank you.

What a great local restaurant in Valentine! The service was great! The food was amazing! We loved the coach light burger!! I highly recommend! The staff was so kind and pleasant! Easy to talk too! Definitely made our time there enjoying!

Very nice staff represents “Nebraska, Nice” quite well. Burger was very tasty (no choice on how the cook it and it comes out well done), cream cheese, jelly with a little kick, 2 crispy pieces of bacon, and some canned jalapeños, all on a juice soaked bun. French Fries were crispy. Pie was warmed and complemented the ice cream but wasn’t made in house.

The food is great and the people there are the best! It's everything you would want in a cozy diner, including the decor and music! Top notch!

On my first trip to Valentine, I picked this cafe for my family to eat at based on the good reviews—including several glowing references to pie—which did not lie. Not only was the food good, and hot, but the prices were affordable; I mean, when’s the last time you got a 50-cent cup of coffee? Or a slice of pie for under $4? My guess is that this place is a favorite both for locals and visitors. I would recommend everything we ordered, or anything like it: grilled cheese, grilled ham and cheese, a BLT with fries, chocolate pie with a cup of coffee, pumpkin pie a la mode, and cherry pie with whipped cream.

Wonderful restaurant in Valentine, Nebraska. Very old school and it was great. Good portions, homemade food, fast, friendly service and plenty of refills.

Hot beef sandwich was great. Service was a little slow because the waitress was by herself.

We were visiting Valentine and looking for a great local restaurant. Coachlight Cafe was amazing!!! The Coachlight Special Burger was sooo good! The Cowboy Burger & Grilled Cheese were very yummy too!! Service was amazing! You’ll want to stop and check out this local joint! We’ll definitely be visiting again! Thank you so much!!!

My mom and I like to experience local restaurants while camping and this has been by FAR one of the best ones we've been to. Our server was super friendly and attentive and we were never waiting for an overly long time. Definitely would come here again!!

I always enjoy Coachlight. The food and service are excellent. The whole experience is reminiscent of the late 60s/early 70s when our family would dine out. Easy and carefree!

They had a great list of specials, plus items available off menu.
Also had quite a list of pies, but we were too full from our meals to try them!!
We WILL be stopping here again!!

Great place, good ol' diner. I love how I can get Liver and Onions. They also serve cucumber sauce with their salads. Very friendly service.

This cafe is a lovely little corner restaurant in a small town with pretty great food. Its real clean and affordable.
