Peppermill Restaurant & EKV Lounge

Well maintained small town gem with big city eats and treats. Them Rexall Rangers are gonna havta mingle with the real cowboys in this Sand Hill delightful eatery. After you're done being a family man .... step on over to the other side for a honky tonk bar good time.

This restaurant was recommended from the hotel we stayed at and it was very well the best choice for us. The steak was delicious!

William Prime rib was awesome. Great portions, very well priced. Service was above and beyond. Friendly atmosphere.

Really can't say enough about this restaurant! It's an absolutely gem of a place in a small, rural city. The food was unbelievable, the portions were out of this world, great beer selection (including locally brewed craft beer which was fantastic 😎), and the service literally couldn't be any better.

It's a model that other establishments should strive to be as they do ALL of the little things right! From a friendly greeting at the door, to getting your drinks immediately, to serving beer in a frosted mug (👌), to perfectly cooked broccoli, to hand-breaded, real fish, to spotlessly clean dining areas ... and I could go on, but we were all really impressed. To be in a hunting trip away from home in a small town and find a place like this was pretty cool! 🤘

Give them a try! You won't be unhappy, I guarantee it! And NO, I wasn't paid for this! LOL

We eat here every time we visit the Sandhills. Great food. My son is a huge burger enthusiast. Loves to try burgers everywhere he goes. Peppermill had the best burger he's ever had

Went there for the first time after going to Valentine many times. We had great local beers, and a decent half order of Rocky Mountain oysters. The service was great… but not as great as the steaks. I had a prime rib and the other person had a 10oz Heart City cut. Both were cooked perfectly. Sides were good, prices were fair, and most importantly… the bathroom was clean! Haha. Will be back!

Ok. So the real reason I checked this place out was the snarky responses to the bad reviews.

First and foremost, the mac and cheese was great. The cheese sauce was super rich and had a great consistency. The steak tips were tender and juicy. The salad was a side salad, and the veg was veg.

I sampled some of the season salt on the table. Good stuff.

One of these days I'll be back to try the steak.

Glad I stopped in. Might have been the best ribeye I’ve ever ordered. Wish I could have an excuse to drive by Valentine more often.

Tired and hungry..thank you Lord for letting them be open...the meal was delicious...the service was outstanding.

Stopped in for dinner and had the prime rib with loaded baked potato. Both were very good as well as the salad and appetizers. Service was very good. Enjoyed our time.

The steak was excellent, cooked perfectly medium rare. The person with me said his cheeseburger was very good as well.

Decided to come here after reading the snarky comments to reviewers trying to trash the servers. So refreshing to see a restaurant actually defending their staff. No.. customers are NOT always right.

They were busy as always on a Friday night. We were seated fast, didn't even have time to order a drink from the bar. Waitresses were awesome as always. Salads came out quickly. We ordered the special New Yorks with lobster and shrimp. Steaks were cooked to a perfect medium rare( its already dead well done steak is cause for deportation) shrimp and lobster were perfect also. 5 stars highly recommended

I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. The town seemed very small to us and we were pleased to find a very fantastic restaurant. The food was wonderful, full of flavor and good-sized portions. The menu had something for everyone and we had a hard time deciding! The staff was friendly and welcoming. Stop by if you have the time!

When we go back and forth from MN to CO we hit this place one way or the other. The meat was tender, the potato’s had NO garlic which is wonderful. Re atmosphere…come on…this IS rural Nebraska.

What a lovely gem! It was a great place to eat after a days long drive. They were very accommodating and took great care of our needs. All of our group liked our food very much.

Seriously Amazing! I am from Omaha and this blows all those downtown restaurants I have been to out of the water. My filet was perfection, it honestly was probably the best I've ever had. I was not expecting greatness from such a small town. I guess now I know better it being cattle country and all. If you are anywhere near here and love good food, I cannot recommend them enough!

We went on Saturday and I was more than pleased! I ordered the "peanut butter burger" (I think that's what it was called) and I would recommend it! It was a little spicy just so you know. The staff was very friendly and willing to help. There really wasn't many people at dinner time.

The food is amazing the prime rib is the best,the service is the best I have ever seen. Will be making the 2 hour drive again for a good meal

Great burger! Pink on the inside, plenty of bacon. Maybe just add some caramelized onions and it would be perfect.
