Bunkhouse Restaurant & Saloon

They deserve 10 stars!!! Phenomenal food, waitress, and drinks that were made by my waitress. She definitely made this visit a 10.

The food was very good, not fine dining, but very satisfying and delicious. My sister had a gluten allergy and the cook was very accommodating to alter the daily special. They are a busy place so you might have to wait a bit.

We were in town for Cowboy Class Wrestling tournament. Was little worried about decent place to eat on a Sunday. We came to Bunkhouse They were just having Buffet that day. Adults were 18 bucks but kids 8 and under were free so it kind of evened price a little. Food was excellent! It was 12:30 so there was breakfast food bisquits gravy omelets waffles and then there was chicken and a really good taco casserole. They also had salads. We have three picky grandkids 4, 6 and 7. and they filled thier plates 3 times and absolutely loved the food. Chicken was really amazing. Definitely glad we stopped.

Food was great! Service was great! Even with the place being very busy the wait was not that long.

Regardless of whether you're a city-slicker or a country bumpkin, you'll love the Bunkhouse in Valentine!
They serve a fantastic variety of drinks and food ranging from urban favorites to native specials, such as fry bread tacos.
Their beer selection was a bit slim, but the quality of what they did have was fantastic!!
I look forward to dining there again many times in the future!

We stopped here for lunch while visiting Valentine for our honeymoon. The food was amazing! I had the hot beef sandwich and my husband had the bunkhouse burger. Both meals were delicious! The staff were all very friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend stopping here!

Don't judge a book by its cover! This is a great place. Not much to look at on the outside, nor the inside for that matter. Feels like a dark, local bar.... Service and food were fantastic. My friend and I bellied up to the bar just before dinner started. We had run the Sandhills Marathon and were starving for a meal. Our bartender who was extremely friendly helped take care of us with prompt drinks and meals. I was able to make the bacon cheeseburger into an 8oz instead of 6 to order it medium rare. It was cooked to perfection and hit the spot. If we had more time in Valentine, we would have eaten here again. The steaks looked great! Once dinner time hit, the place filled up fast! Highly recommend!!

We seated ourselves and were greeted in less than a minute. My wife ordered the Navajo taco and I had the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. Both of us were happy with our selections and the prices were very reasonable.

The Salmon over wild rice and mixed veggies special is delicious!! So is every other special I've tried! Quick, friendly, service and all around awesome food choices with amazing flavor! The breakfast and lunch specials are fantastic as well, personally love the Fiesta lime steak salad and the wraps!

Passing through town. Left Peppermill and we’re SO GLAD we went to the Bunkhouse for dinner. Make this your first choice! Super friendly and attentive service, excellent food, fair prices and relaxed atmosphere. THIS is where you want to eat. Had the hot beef sandwich and steak - perfect.

Good hearty breakfast. Most of the breakfasts on the menu come with a sausage that they are getting locally I believe. Cant remember the name but it was very tasty and really highlighted the meals. The portions would feed a lumberjack.

Great down home restaurant and bar. My ribeye was delicious. Everyone in my party enjoyed themselves, and the drinks from the bar were great too.

Friendly service, juicy steak that was tender and not overly seasoned. Potato done just right with massive, crispy bacon crunched up. Makes for a great night. Plenty of truck parking, so life is good here. Great location near grocery stores, also. Highly recommended.

I just had the soup but it was amazing

After a long day of driving our first leg of road tripping across the country (and a VERY long monotonous stretch of nothing!!!!!), we ran across this restaurant. I reviewed it five years ago right after we went there. But I'm back on here to right a description of our experience because, after the five year since visiting, my husband is STILL talking about the steak he had here. He proclaims that he had the "best steak I have ever had IN MY LIFE" at this restaurant. So if you find yourself traveling the long desolate highway from Oklahoma to Deadwood, and need a dinner break in Nebraska, this is a great option!!
