I have been a patient since 2006, before they opened the new building. I have been happy the whole time. The staff has always been pleasant and professional.

I’ve been going to this practice for at least 30 years. In fact, I was one of Dr. Hunter’s first patients. Dr. Hunter is caring, listens, and always goes above and beyond to ensure that I am receiving the best care possible. Feeling comfortable speaking with your doctor about anything is a blessing.

Additionally, Nurse Danielle is absolutely wonderful. I can’t say enough about the practice. Overall, they genuinely care about your well-being.

A patient prior to the new building with PA Kathy, who since retired. Lacey has been my primary care PA for years. I can't rate her high enough. She is very thorough. Sometimes persistent... and follows through when I fail to. Her assisting staff members are very pleasant. Dr. Martin is my second choice here.Definitely recommend this facility.

I have been coming here since I was a child. All of the Docs are amazing, the office staff and Nurses professional and caring. Dr. Hunter has diagnosed me correctly and referred me to a Specialist several times. This is the only Office I trust! Highly recommend.

These doctors have been taking care of my family for 30 years. They took care of my grandmother through complicated diabetes and kept her alive and happy for years. They take care of my little baby from ear aches to fevers. They have great patience and attention to detail and they really care. Great location, great doctors!

I have been going to CapitalCare Charlton for many years now. Colin Meagher, PA-C has always been courteous, friendly and professional. The nurses and reception staff have been great as well. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone in the area.

There's a lot of good here but also a major issue.

Good: Colin is very friendly and kind. I can't explain why, but I have always had a gut-feeling that he is very trustworthy. The other providers I have met have all been very capable and nice.

Bad: However, a considerable issue I have faced multiple times is my illness getting brushed off with one of the nurses/receptionists over the phone.

I'm pretty sure it's the same person, but several times when I've called about cold symptoms worsening and lasting over a week (I was having frequent infections), I was told, definitively, "it's just a cold" and to "call back in a week" if it was still bothering me. Despite feeling like I was begging, I was refused an appointment and given OTC medication suggestions that my physician said wouldn't help with my symptoms once I finally did get an appointment.

For example, I once called with ear pain, dizziness, and awful coughing. They told me, again, very definitively, "it's not an ear infection." Well, turns out, it absolutely was. And I had to go through multiple rounds of antibiotics and other medications. I was even referred to an ENT because there was such an issue with my ears. But no, without an exam, the person on the phone knew it was just a cold and I didn't need to be seen.

If I could go back, I would demand an appointment or another person to speak with instead of blindly trusting that a representative of my doctor's office would have sufficient medical knowledge.

Another receptionist/nurse (not sure who answers the phones tbh) is super nice and I didn't have to beg. She even said she wanted to get me an appt right away just in case it was something more serious. It was simple and easy and I felt like my illness was being treated with the weight it needed.

I know my body. Every time, I was pretty sure it was an infection and I needed an antibiotic. That is what was prescribed each time after the sleepless nights of my untreated infections getting worse.

If this is protocol, it needs to be fixed.

Back to the good, I'm also happy that I was asked if I wanted to switch my primary physician to Colin from Dr Martin due to her high caseload (after a few years of being with this office, I had never met her despite her being my primary physician. She was always booked or out that day). I'm glad it wasn't a situation where she continued to be my physician, even though I still have not met her.

It is unfortunate that the protocol is for a patient to call first, leave their name and information, and then wait for someone to call back. I have always been called back in a reasonable amount of time, but it's not ideal. This is probably due to low staffing, just like how you cannot find doctors anymore. More and more, being seen by an actual doctor is like finding a unicorn. It's unfortunate, but I understand.

Overall, this place is good. You just have to be assertive because not all employees are the same. Some are better than others and some like to pretend to be qualified and practice medicine over the phone. :D

I’m really upset writing this, but it’s important. I loved my doctor, Holly Wasniewski, I still do. But ever since she moved to this practice she has been IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of. Not her directly, but anyone at the office. Whenever I call, I get immediately transferred to an “operator” but nobody ever answers. The rare times I get to leave a message on an answering machine, nobody ever calls back. The only time I hear from them is after I’ve already been to urgent care because whatever I’ve been trying to call about has gotten way worse. This makes me so upset because she’s an awesome doctor, but that doesn’t matter if I can’t ever get in to see her. The practice she was at before was WAY better. Everyone was amazing there and I never had an issue getting in to see her when I needed. This new practice, when I see people, they’re never rude, but.... idk. Not a fan. Sorry Holly :/ Let me know if you ever go back to the old practice!

I have been seeing Holly Wazneiwski she is a very kind individual. Never can get hold of and not always a call back. When my pharmacy calls for a prescription refill they don’t fill it till I have to call them. I see a specialist for everything she will not practice medicine. Each specialist costs me $25. I’m disappointed and this last straw was my last blood test Potassium was too high. Had to see a kidney doctor to get amount reduced. I miss my old doctor Kerry Ricker so much it’s night and day.

We've had the worst experience at the Balston Spa one. And it is part of the same group. I've never had such a unprofessional experience in my life. The doctors are unprofessional. The staff needs to be trained or coached. Calling to schedule a appointment when clearly we waited for 50 mins for our first appointment and my wife was just left in the office to wait and the doctor never showed up then hey started eating lunch. Crazy. Then we change our doctors and recieve a call for schedule our appointment. They also charged for that 50 minute wait in the office while the doctor was on lunch. Unethical.

After many phone calls to the office and many phone messages I have left with the nurses recording, I am no longer going to come to this office. I have been trying for 3 months to have a call back from the nurses and NEVER received a call back about my prescription. When I called the office receptionist, they told me I’d have to leave a message with the nurses. After telling them I have left a message for 3 months, they informed me they could not write prescriptions. I did not ask them to do this. I wanted to speak to someone and not leave a message. The reply was there was nothing they could do. Because of the lack of care and disrespect I received, I have decided to leave this office. I have been told that some doctors offices do not care about the elderly. This office is one of them. I do have appointments scheduled for December 2022 that I will not be attending. Please cancel these appointments.

I have been seeing Dr.Holly for years, and I am not happy with the move to Charlton, or Community Care in general. This morning I had scheduled bloodwork for a physical. I was told that it could be done at the Ballston Spa office, but upon arrival was told that they do not accept my particular insurance in that office, and was offered no help or direction after that. I feel that after the multiple phone calls to see if it would be possible to have it drawn in BSpa, someone would have thought about insurance. I naturally assumed that because my insurance was covered at the Charlton practice, it would be in BSpa being under Com Care umbrella. Then, my next step was to call the Charlton office. After checking the website for business hours (which states 7:30a to 5p) called the office only to be received by an answering service who informed me that they in fact open at 8:30a. So now, after I had found child care for my toddler, took out my newborn at 7:30 in the morning, and fasting myself does 12 hours, I’ve got nothing accomplished, with no help whatsoever. Starting my search for a new primary care provider, today.
