From the time we walked in the door, geeted by Sandy Fan, until we left very satisfied with our lunch that left us looking forward to our next visit, this was a good experience!
Unfortunately I did not take pictures until our main courses arrived, so you won't see a picture of our soups or the vegetable egg rolls. Both of which were wonderful. There were 3 of us, so we tried each of the soups offered: wonton, egg drop, and hot and sour. My favorite (as it's what I ordered) was the egg drop soup. It was so good. So evident that they use fresh ingredients at this restaurant. It had celery, carrot, green onion and egg in the hearty broth.
The vegetable egg roll was very good - not greasy. And the sauces they bring you to dip them in - sweet and sour, spicy garlic and hot mustard - they make those so they are fresh when brought to your table (we heard her making them).
Main courses shown in the pictures are Moo Goo Gai Pan, Chicken with Broccoli, and Cilantro Chicken. All were so good! But I've got to say - the Cilantro Chicken dish was the winner with chicken, cilantro, jalapeno, and garlic.
Overall a great lunch experience! We will be back! Thank you for a wonderful lunch!

Delicious Chinese food, every single time I've ordered from here over the past 5 years. The owner/chef has always been the same, nothing has changed from pre-covid to now. Same great food, same great cooking.

Reading some of the recent reviews, I want to confirm that the restaurant is still take-out only since 2020, but so is the only real competition in this town for best Chinese restaurant, Dynasty Restaurant.

China Fortune is also the only Chinese restaurant that I've ever been able to get to make a dish spicy enough for my taste.

I have been going to this restaurant since I was probably five years old. This is, and always has been, the best Chinese food in Athens. Sandy is the best and her food is too. The best fried pork dumplings and chicken fried rice I’ve ever had!

We're new to the area and have been trying to find our new go-to Chinese place. This is by far the best we've had! Everything we got was delicious. They have some interesting menu choices beyond the standard Chinese take-out that I can't wait to try more of. The prices are fantastic. Will definitely be ordering here regularly.

Great food and friendly service, I can't really ask for much more.

So far I have had the Cilantro chicken and spicy chicken lo mein. Both were excellent, as are the sides of steamed or fried rice. The white was well cooked and the fried was tasty, and the veggies were nice and crunchy. It hit the spot both times.

Order the combo fried rice (chicken, beef, shrimp) with habanero and cilantro. 😋

Still the best Chinese food in Athens. Got strong armed into trying a couple of the others and the fam and I all agreed, China Fortune is the best. The freshest, the best sauces and most authentic (if you care about that). One of the top 3 places all my friends who visit from out of town want to return to every time.

By FAR the best choice for Chinese Food in Athens. Unless you like food poisoning. Owned and operated by long time Athens resident and featuring a great traditional menu. Sometimes the servers are new. Have patience. The food is awesome.

Amazing jewel of authentic Chinese food in Athens OH! We were lucky that the owners decided to settle here 1.5 years ago when the left China. They had a restaurant there. I love coming here and trying authentic food and never running out of options. I love the food and service and highly recommend it.

I don't live near Athens any longer, but made sure I stopped by the restaurant on my way to west Virginia. Still great food and sandy!!!

Best Chinese food in Athens!!

Love Sandy, they have been a staple in Athens for 20 years. Great tasting food, love the hot & sour soup.

Wonderful for what it is. Fairly basic Chinese but very well prepared, great waitstaff, Wonton Soup is the best in town and no better Scallion Pancakes exist. Surprisingly cheap and food comes out super quickly. I only wish they delivered.

This place always surprises me with their menu. Very few Chinese restaurant in this country serves five spice beef stew, lamb cake, pork feet. I tried Mu Shu Pork with pancake few weeks ago. Try it, and it may change your view - especially, if you still think General Tso is a Chinese food! :)

Athens best kept secret! I've become a regular. Ask for the secret / traditional menu with the owner's recipes. The crispy eggplant will rock your socks off. Has a quiet, simple ambiance.

I've been very happy ever since they added the more traditional Chinese menu items. These can be pricey depending on the market and what you order, but they are worth it.

Went in for the first time to get carry out on a Friday evening. We waited to go here because it was under different management. Food was great and Sandy provided great service. I will definitely be going back!

The expansive menu offers several great option for the pickiest eaters. Food is fresh and portions ample. My Moo Goo Gai Pan was great.

Best oriental cuisine in Athens...their Shrimp fried rice is soooooo good. Only wish they served egg fo young.

My experience at this restaurant has been outstanding. My favorite is the cilantro chicken friend rice. The beef and pepper is also very good.

Great food. Good price. Try the not so secret authentic Chinese menu. You won't be disappointed.

Comfortable setting, good service, fresh vegetables, good prices and portions. I've never had a bad meal here.
