Ray's Harvest House

Not from the immediate area and have been here one other time passing through. The food is home made and fantastic. Some of their items like the home made potato chips are my point of reference for other places we go. We have been all over the country and prefer to dine in mom and pop style places and avoid mainstream. The portions are definitely enough to fill you up, but even if you're full, you have to get dessert even if you take it to go . Rays Harvest House is absolutely one of the best restaurants we have been to and the service is top notch as well. Our server was very personable, attentive, and had a great sense of humor. If you want an old school diner vibe this is the place to go.

Bacon Cheeseburger & home made Chips, Ham with Mashed Potatoes & Brown Gravy, Coleslaw, Blackberry Cobbler with Vanilla Bean Ice-cream, and Peanutbutter Cream Pie. They have Pepsi products and the Sweet Tea is excellent!

I’m not from around here, and I definitely felt that way when I walked in. The food was good and not overpriced. The service was very quick and nice. You can definitely tell this is a hometown - small town diner feel. Got all the drama/tea from the area within the 30 minutes I was there lol. I may be over exaggerating a little. Cool little place and would eat there again!

First time, though live close. Fast service, chopped steak charbroiled. Even good next day. Large pie selection. Wasn’t sure how to pay though.

Truck drivers welcomed here. Old style stop and eat, mom and pop type place. Foods great, price is great, tons of room to park trucks. If your heading East on 32, its a perfect place to stop or even call in an order and grab and go. 100% recommend if you miss the good ole days!

Excellent service. Server was very attentive. Food was very good. Prices are very reasonable. You feel like your money was well spent. We left full and had some to take home! We used to go to the Albany Cafe. This is now our go to place. Recommend.

Charming ma and pa style restaurant. Rustic country decor/ 50’s checkered floor. Good home cooking, lots of pies and cakes for after your meal. When I went it was not very crowded and the waitress was kind and accommodating. My meal came quick and the price was right! This restaurant was absolutely what I needed after a long day of driving. Thank you !

The service was so fast and friendly! I got the chicken strip dinner meal. I love that they make their ranch and hand bread their chicken. The fries were delicious as well. The chicken was so good I wish the pieces weren't so tiny. Absolutely would go here again.

Once you get used to the eerie quiet that seems to always permeate this restaurant, it's a very cozy place to sit down and enjoy a meal. The food is excellent and the fact that it's a 4 mile drive from home, five star.

New to the area and some nice folks we met steered us towards Ray’s Harvest House. What a great place! Visited for Sunday morning breakfast and server Sidney was fantastic. The Western Omelet hit the spot. Looking forward to returning for lunches / dinners.

Food was hot and fresh, servers we're very friendly. I'm glad that we found this little whole in the wall with GREAT food! Can't wait to go back and good size portions for great prices!

Sitting by itself in a tangle of side streets right next to the highway, this humble little kitchen in Albany OH (Go Spartans!) serves down-home goodness on every plate.

Let me acclimate you first. They have a large parking lot, so no worries there. Enter and choose your own seat with booths in the front and tables in the back. I have seen groups of 6+ dining there, but I would call ahead and/or maybe plan for a less-than-lunch-or-dinner-rush-hour visit if you want to bring the whole squad. Once you are seated, relax and a waitress will arrive to provide table service. From the front, rest rooms are straight back, then left, and then left again. You do not need to wait for or ask for your check, when you are done just head to the front counter and pay your bill. Do not skip dessert and always tip your servers!

Now let's talk breakfast food. The fluffiest pancakes...I am talking inch thick, maybe more. Three of them come in an order of pancakes, so we are talking hot and buttery and around 5-6" tall with something like a 7-8" diameter. A literal cake-sized stack of fluffy flapjacks. You might want to start with just one and then work your way up with each visit.

Now let's talk dinner. Every day has a special and you will never go wrong with the special be it meatloaf or noodles or roast meat. Sometimes I like a good burger. It doesn't have to be expensive or fancy, the cook just needs to care a little bit to sear it just-so and get it to the "THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT" stage of beefy flavor. Ray and her cooks put a little love in their work and you'll taste the difference. My burger of choice is just bun, burger, bacon, bbq sauce, onion rings, and that's it, burger perfection. Their fishtail sandwich is the larger, tastier version of deep-fried fish, hot and crispy. The taco salad will fill your belly with some fresh veggies. Oh, and the brisket-stuffed potato skins are terrific! I could go on, but we need speak about desserts.

Every day you will find a selection of 8 to 10 flavors of homemade pie and cake and you should try every one of them before picking a favorite. The pig-picking cake (whipped cream, pineapple, moist cake...so good) is my personal favorite. The fresh pies alone make Ray's a great food stop.

Ray is an awesome lady with an attentive, hard-working staff and an awesome, down-home restaurant with great food, amazing desserts, and prices that are quite reasonable so you can fill your belly without emptying your pockets. I know I sound like a salesman, but I am just a fan. Guess who has 2 thumbs up and visits Ray's 2-3 times per week? Me! Highly recommended!
