This is one of the very best B&B experiences we have ever had (and we’ve been married almost 23 years, so we have lots of years of traveling together.)
Ravenswood Inn Bed & Breakfast is run by a wonderful couple. They are sharp, sweet, caring, and interesting people.
Booking couldn’t have been any easier, I just gave them a call and within a few minutes our room was reserved.
When we arrived we parked by the garage and took a cute walkway to the porch and into the front door. Stepping into the inn felt so welcoming! The stairway was beautifully decorated for Christmas, as was the formal parlor to the right.
Steve showed us around the inn and shared many interesting historical facts. He was also baking cookies using his father-in-law’s recipe. Now, I’m a baker, so I know a good cookie when I meet one and these are some of the best cookies I’ve ever tasted. Yum!
The inn is adorable and impeccably clean. (Believe me, this isn’t always the case with b&b’s)
Our room was super cute and we appreciated the nautical theme throughout our room.
Our breakfast was delicious! We had an omelet and a potato dish along with fresh fruit, toast, and a delicious butter they prepare for their guests. Coffee and tea is always made available. (I had been hoping for an herbal tea before bed, but there were only caffeinated tea bags at the coffee nook.)
As far as the town of Ravenswood goes, this little town is adorable and is experiencing a rebirth.
We stopped at Steaming Cup Cafe for a couple of lattes and this is such a cute little cafe with great seating options.
We slept at the inn New Years’s Eve, soon New Year’s Day many of the businesses were closed. I look forward to our next visit so we can check out the town a bit more.
This would be a great spot for anyone needing to take a break in driving from the South to the North.

Wonderful experience. Top notch service. Willing to take us last minute and prepare the room. The inn is everything you would expect for a BnB, so accomodating. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast each morning was so delicious. The porch was nice for relaxing. The owners make the guests feel so welcome and are really interested in sharing life experience. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Definitely plan to stay again.

I agree with the double five stars, this one deserves it!!
The Inn is so cozy, very tidy, and generous with snacks. Sabrina is a wonderful host, kind and thoughtful, even asking about and accommodating diet considerations. Great conversation when she joined me for breakfast!! Make sure to save room for the homemade fudge her husband makes!

This is a little late but we stayed here for a night in August and it was amazing! We were very happy Steve and Sabrina were willing to accept our later arrival time without any issues whatsoever. Steve made us feel welcome right away. He offered and we accepted a tour of the home which we HIGHLY recommend. We settled on a time for breakfast, were given several great local suggestions for dinner, and were left to explore and relax at our leisure. The room was spotless clean, light blocking curtains, and comfy bed. The bathroom was obviously cleaned well, had fresh clean towels, toiletries if needed, and had little pieces of history to discover if you take a look around. Next morning, we came down to an amazing breakfast! We are breakfast people and this made it on the list of one of the best we’ve had and it included as much local sourced items as possible which was a bonus! While we ate we had a blast talking with Steve and Amy! Getting to know each other and laughing was the best part of the visit! It was a great time and we could’ve hung out a lot longer but, this is on our list to return to in the future! We HIGHLY recommend if you are looking for a place to remember that’s clean, great food, and even better hosts/people, you won’t be disappointed!!

This was my wife and I’s second time staying at a Bed & Breakfast. If I knew they would all be like Ravenswood Bed & Breakfast, I would stay at more of them! The owners were awesome, had fresh cookies waiting for us!!!! He gave us a tour of the home, the history and information on a lot of the decorations and other things in the house. He also gave us history of the area and told us a lot about the big flood in West Virginia’s past. My wife loved the old “claw foot” bathtub which was perfect for her to relax in after 450 miles on a motorcycle. Our room was very nice and the bed was super comfortable! The breakfast was delicious! Fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, biscuits and hash browned potatoes! I wish we would have been able to stay more than one night to enjoy the home and town more!

A word of caution though….. you will leave with your cheeks and sides hurting from laughing so much! Our host was full of jokes and one liners!

Highly recommend Ravenswood Inn Bed and Breakfast and if we are back in the area, we will definitely be staying here!

What a treat!!! The only place we will ever stay when near the area. This place could not have been more charming or accommodating. Steve & Sabrina are true gems and prepare a lovely breakfast & make you feel at home. Thank you both so much! We can’t wait to come back :)

If I were able to double the number of stars I would. The Inn is beautiful, clean, accommodating, especially comfortable and walking distance from the heart of town. Breakfasts are top notch and cookies, coffee and tea are available night and day. A swing and rockers on the front porch make for easy chillin' time. The Inn Keepers are so attentive to every need and great at discussing area trivia history. I don't think it is possible to stay anywhere away from home and feel more welcome and at home. Love this place.

My daughter and I were on a road trip from California, and we absolutely loved our stay in September at the Inn. The Inn is in a historic Ohio Valley house in the small town of Ravenswood, and has three guest rooms. We had the Captain's Quarters and the First Mate's Quarters (the other is the Crewman's Quarters). We wondered about the nautical theme in a landlocked state like WV, but the owners explained the property was once the home of a riverboat captain, and the Ohio River is just a few blocks away. It was immediately apparent that the owners take great pride in the property and in providing the highest level of hospitality. I tend to be on the lookout for cleanliness first, and this place is spotless - the floors, bathrooms, guest rooms, kitchen, public areas, and, even, the garden - nothing was overlooked in terms of maintenance and cleanliness. The beds were extremely comfortable (I was told the mattresses are locally made), the rooms quiet, and the breakfast was amazing (everything was fresh, and there was way more than we could finish). We sat out on the porch swing in the evening and greeted the locals walking by. The owners have deep roots in WV and the local area, and have many cool family stories about the house and ideas for things to do. They are warm and welcoming, but are also sensitive to giving guests space and privacy to relax and just hang out. We also discovered that Ravenswood is a lovely place to bike, walk, and explore. Most of the roads are fairly flat, quiet, and free of traffic. There is a nearby park along the river where there is often a Mexican food truck and local musicians jamming bluegrass and mountain tunes. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer, since we had to get up to WVU for a campus visit. However, we had such a great experience that we’re sure we’ll be visiting the Inn again soon.

10000/10 recommend this bed and breakfast! The house is so neat and has a ton of history in it. The owners are super sweet and personable, we loved getting to talk to them every morning when they made the most delicious breakfast ever! We found a place to come and stay every time we are in the area! They are so accommodating and make the stay perfect with really amazing touches. The bed is super comfy and it is so so clean. You will not regret staying at their bed and breakfast

We found this B&B at the last minute and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. The area is peaceful. The Inn is beautiful, clean and full of interesting history. The bed is very comfortable. Good quality towels and sheets. The breakfast was amazing!. The apple butter is the best I've ever had. I also like that they provide many items from local sources for breakfast. The owners Steve and Sabrina were wonderful. Will definitely stay again.

I grew up in the 'Wood from 1966 to 1979, but hadn't been back since then. For various reasons I re-visited from 7/28 to 8/1/2022. I was *so* impressed and pleased by my stay that I extended it a night. The history, ambiance, breakfast quality (OMG the bacon!), and especially the hospitality were better than I've ever experienced, and I've stayed in a few B&Bs over the years. I want to go back soon! Thanks Steve and Sabrina for a fabulous visit!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Ravenswood Inn while passing through on a road trip from Michigan to Charlotte, N.C. It was the perfect half way point to break up the ride. The Inn is a wonderful Victorian style home that is 100% authentic, reflecting the history of the Ravenswood, WV area. It was super clean, comfortable and the proprietors, Steve and Sabrina were super friendly hosts. A good nights sleep and an great country style breakfast and I was recharged to hit the road. I will absolutely stay there again the next time I am passing through.

Amazing one night stay! Everything was perfectly set up and ready to go when we checked in. Wonderful welcoming host. What impressed us most was the level of care and immaculate attention to detail, all aimed at giving us the best experience possible. She even accommodated us with gluten free treats upon arrival!

Breakfast for us was made perfectly on time and was delicious. Coffee, fresh orange juice, and an assortment of eggs, biscuits, yogurt, and other items.

Couldn’t recommend this wonderful place enough - if we’re in the area again, we’ll be sure to stay here again.

Absolutely excellent in all areas. Service, food, beds, furnishings are all super quality. But the best part was the hosts themselves. Steve, Sabrina and Natalie were so helpful and it was a pleasure meeting them. Don't miss the opportunity to stay here! Highly recommend!

We stayed here three different times while house/land hunting in the area. It’s a wonderful home: comfortable, clean, lovely. The owners were helpful in more ways than I can enumerate. After our first visit, there wasn’t any question about where we would stay the next time. Totally satisfied and happy to make new friends.

So excited to spend a couple nights in this cozy place!
Initial impression is fantastic, with more goodness in store!
Update:
We spent two nights at the Ravenswood Inn B&B. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful with local jams and apple butter for our warm biscuits. The cinnamon butter was divine! The Cogars have done a fantastic job compiling photos and stories of Ravenswood and WV. I think I learned more about local and WV history than I learned the whole term in 8th grade! We enjoyed getting to know Sabrina and Natalie, such warm and gracious hostesses. Thank you so much for a quiet and comfortable stay. We will be back!
