Salvatore's Italian Grill

Their restaurant is rustic, and not in the greatest neighborhood ever. However, their food(at least what I tasted) was 5 star, at least. Their red sauce is sweet for me, but their cream sauces are stellar. Pasta is cooked perfectly al dente, and the asparagus in my dish wasn't mushy, if only not great for this time of year(too early in the season). As for service, Brandon is one of, if not the best waiter I've ever swapped jokes with. I told him that, he's where he should be, and I hope he is compensated properly. I certainly did. Well, done, little hole in the wall Mom n Pop Italian joint. I never have to go to Olive drab Garden again. Oh, BTW, I defy anyone to find better Italian at the same, let alone lower price in Youngstown.

We had a group of about 20 people on a Sunday at 6PM come dine here, 2 being from out of state we wanted to show an area staple, and let me say I have NEVER seen a person (Aurora) handle a group that size so orderly and efficiently, especially mostly on their own! Everyone was more than satisfied with their food (temperature, taste, portion) as well as the speed of service. She was the most courteous and personable waitress I've been served by in a while! Before we could even ask she brought boxes and bags for everyone just in case. When I come back I hope to have the pleasure to be seated in her section. Oh- in regards to food the Penne Alla Vodka with shrimp was scrumptious but as I've seen you can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

Vincenzo makes the best chicken francaise I have ever had must try it for you and the entire

I have never had a bad experience here with both the service and the food. I typically get the Penne alla Vodka and it’s the best pink sauce I have gotten anywhere. Their prices are comparable to most other restaurants.

We've stopped here on 2 different times on our way to New York. The first time was a Sunday night in May 2018 and the second bring tonight, May 20th 2023.
The first, although I don't recall what we ate, was good enough to make us return 5 years later. The food tonight was delicious with very nice portions. We started with an appetizer of mussels in cream sauce and a glass of Pinot Grigio and a martini. For entrees my wife had the Chicken Rockefeller and I had grilled salmon. My wife's portion was large enough for leftovers and my salmon and baked potato were perfectly sized for me.
4 drinks, an appetizer and 2 nice sized entrees w/ salads and bread were less than $90 without tip. Our waitress was very pleasant and prompt and the restaurant appeared clean and well maintained. If you're in the area, we highly recommend it

The food was delicious! Like, seriously delicious! Our server, Rachel, was amazing! They were super busy today and she was on top of everything. The bruschetta appetizer was fresh. The bread and pizza bread were both still warm when they got to the table. Our portions were bigger than I expected. I took some of it home because I couldn't finish. There were so many good options on the menu, I'll definitely go back. I want to try them all.

First time I have eaten here. It exceeded my expectations. Everything my girlfriend and I ate was delicious. Service was wonderful. I HIGHLY recommend this place! We had a Capri pizza with spinach, peppers and onions, a Veggie Salad and the Chicken Salvatore. All were phenomenal! Check this place out!

The food from there is always fabulously prepared. The same attention to detail and prep goes into each and every dish, whether you are dining in or grabbing something for home. Definitely should be on everyone's to eat at list.

Went there last night for the first time. I booked a table for my entire family (6), we got there on time and we're at immediately. The place was buzzing with activity. We ordered calamari, my daughter's favorite and we all tried but she found it to be the best she had tasted ever. She said it was soft, tender and her favorite part was you batter was not overwhelming, it allowed the flavor of the Calamari to come through. We then moved on to the Entrees. We had the Seafood Medley, The Florentine, Cavetelli Portebello, and Shrimp, Crab Alfredo and a pizza. Our dishes were all hot at the table, very saucy, and all exquisitely tasty. Thankfully we had saved ourselves for the meal as the portion sizes were humongous. This was our first visit but it certainly won't be our last. Bravo to Salvatore's.

This is my favorite restaurant and I wish I could frequent it more often. I love the atmosphere and the unique building, I love the food. The portions are so generous. I love the bread basket and the salads. I've never had anything I didn't like. It's so hard to choose because the menu is large but everything I've tried is so good. Just went a couple weeks ago and our waitress was excellent. I got a cannoli to take home and it was so crispy and the ricotta filling was DELICIOUS. One of my favorite things is the privacy, the booths are tall and you can be surrounded by other patrons and you barely know it. Every time I get to choose the restaurant I want to come here!

I brought my mom and my aunt here for the first time. I came here before, but great experience both times. Our server Zoey ( I hope I’m spelling it correctly) was wonderful and on point with everything in our experience.

This place is an overburdened staff away from being fantastic. We waited for awhile to for a table without acknowledgement from the staff, the server provided good service but lacked the friendly demeanor that makes for a good experience eating out. The food was excellent though bread and salads came out fifteen minutes after the order and no refills were offered until the meal was over. I understand that finding staff now is difficult, so I'm giving 5 stars for the effort they put forth being understaffed.

I planned a date night with my girlfriend and found this place on Yelp app. We drove from Cleveland to Austintown (1hr 12min)...it was worth every minute and mile.

The pizza breed and dinner rolls are a mouth explosion. I'm going back to try the Veal Parmasean. The Seafood Fantasy has Calamari, baby squid, mussels, shrimp and classic in a buttery wine sauce well flavored with garlic. The soups are delicious. The steak is fire grilled to perfection. I promise you that you will not be disappointed.

Great food. fantastic prices. service is super. I always stop by whenever I go through Youngstown. Normally I eat a sit-down meal in the restaurant and order one of their fantastic Italian subs to take home. Can't see enough good things about this place.

Chicken wings (medium), pasta dinner with Italian sausage, chicken parmesan. Everything is delicious here. Always go for their bread (garlic bread with sauce on it) and pasta dinners. Never had a bad meal here and I highly recommend. The servers there are great as well. Reasonably priced.

When u need some great food or really good spaghetti sauce this is your place to go to and enjoy a great dinner.
I always eat the pasta but we went over for a pizza for my kita diet and they have one made from cauliflower so it passes the low carbs but we had a steak and it was very good.
I feel the sauce is way better then olive garden but that might be just my wife and myself..

We have never had a bad meal here! From the bread to the apps to the main dishes, wonderful! We love the atmosphere, too!

I was there several weeks ago and forgot to review until now. I was able to try several things with a meal that combined three favorites of lasagna, chicken parmesan and fettuccine alfredo. From the bread to the salad to the generous portioned meal, all was an A+. Ps. Conversation with bartender was great too!

I love the atmosphere,the food ,portions , quality and I can go on! The wait staff is absolutely amazing ,and a special thanks to Carla who goes above and beyond.Lunch specials are always something to look forward to without killing your budget.

Everything was amazing!!! The go-to place for Authentic Italian food and service. The decorations and atmosphere are great as well. I recommend the Chicken Francese, I've tried many but this one is one of the best!
