Every time I am at the cabin we visit! Been visiting since I can remember and they always have a chefs creation which we love! Love everything on their menu and their view is gorgeous. Love their staff have a mojito they grow their own mint and they are to die for! Also, their salad cart has the best bleu cheese I have ever had and it’s so fun choosing the ingredients. The Cajun Ramulade is the best also we always buy a bottle so we have some for Christmas with crackers or shrimp. They have a unique soup which is chilled Strawberry Rhubarb and we love ordering that every time since no where else have I seen this. Their cook book is amazing to purchase as well. This is a fancy restaurant so we always dress up and love it since we wear flannels and jeans all the time to keep the mosquitoes out. Hoping to have my reception there in 2025 to see Pam my friend and the best staff you will ever meet works there!!! Love love love the memories and the dining experience. Nothing is like this gem! Can’t wait to go in August!!! ❤❤❤

If you're looking for a relaxing, enjoyable dining experience, one that offers great food and a great venue, the Blue Bayou Inn is all that and more. Here, dining is a series of tasty courses. It started with a delicious cocktail prepared by Rita, the owner. Next up was the delicious seafood pate served with a bread and cracker basket. The salad cart arrived, where the server prepared custom salads topped with one of many available dressings. And then the main course. We had Blackened Whitefish (the special) and Steak Diane (see photos). Both were fantastic, and were served with wild rice. Rita's son is the chef, and daughter the server. Dine here for a delicious meal, regardless of whether or not you think you like Cajun.

Terrific dining experience with wonderful service. We made a reservation and although it was not particularly busy at that time, there was a steady fill up later on. There was a host, someone to take drink orders, explain the menu and specials, bring food, prepare salads. All were professional, knew their stuff and were well prepared.
The food was delicious. Included with entrees are seafood pate with hot bread, a soup (gumbo was dark and rich), table side salad. We also had alligator bites, Cajun sampler (fantastic blackened catfish - thick filled, beautifully cooked) and the blackened Lakefish. Everything was hot and fresh and prepared with care. Good choice of wines by the glass and bottle, Abita beers too. And don't forget dessert (pecan tart was moist with a crisp shell). The view is onto Manitowosh Lake and there are outside tables and docks. This was an excellent dining experience. Highly recommended.

What a great place for a special evening. Every seat has an incredible view of the lake. The service is impeccable. This is a true dining experience deserving of at least 2 hours to enjoy. All meals start with a seafood pate fresh Hot bread, choice of soup and their famed salad prepared table side with garnish of your choice. I enjoyed the cajun sampler which was delicious. I will definitely return.

What an amazing food experience! I've always felt that truly memorable meals have a slow even pace and it should all make sense and flow together. This is a 2 hour minimum experience, but so worth it. Everything from the Cajun bloody all the way to the whiskey butter sauce bread pudding is beyond great! I tasted 4 of the entrees at our party of 6 and they were all stellar. You have to try this place. If you're a tad skeptical of Cajun cuisine in the north woods of Wisconsin... Don't be! I was born and raised in Louisiana and the flavors are all authentic. Everything was amazing!

I loved this place. I enjoy all things cajun and creole. I'll start by saying I hope to visit this place when there are no covid restrictions. You will absolutely need reservations. Penny is lovely to talk to on the phone and set up everything. They have a spectacular view and the location is great. The seafood pate and bread and crackers are good. They have a spread remoulade you get it has horseradish and is great. And the have great real butter. The soup was amazing I got the strawberry rhubarb cold soup. It was like drinking a strawberry rhubarb crumble. My wife hates cold food but loved this and will get it next time. She had chicken and wild rice and enjoyed it. The next course was a little salad. Had all your basic salad needs. Got cajun dressing it was good and non spicy which I would have been fine for more heat. Main course I got the sample platter. The catfish blackened was phenomenal. Crawfish etouffee I got half and half spicy/ creamy. The spicy totally had kid and creamy was great as a Ying Yang. And finally the jambalaya was to die for. Loved the cheese and sausage and everything packed inside it. My wife had blackened filet and she really enjoyed it. Another friend got blackened shrimp and while she enjoyed it she wished Gulf shrimp would have been larger. All in all its great place to visit and try a hurricane and sign up to get a free shirt. And be sure to get a dessert even if you gotta take it home from being so full.

One of the best dinners I have ever had! The service was great! We got blackened scallops for an appetizer, and they were done perfectly! Cajun sampler was really good! I would reccomend this place to anyone who is in the area!

I cannot say enough good things about this incredible restaurant. I wish I could give more than five stars in all categories. Dinner started with an incredible seafood patae followed by the delicious soup and tableside salad cart. The main course was that nightly special of blackened Prime rib which was beautifully cooked and seasoned. While I don't like dessert our group had the Bananas Foster and everyone loved it! The only negative is we eventually had to leave which we eventually did completely stuffed and happy. I cannot wait to visit them again next year.

Wonderful place for Southern/ Louisiana bites + drinks in Northern Wisconsin. Even though they are restricting dine-in to reservations only during the pandemic, you can grab a cocktail and sit on the patio or take it to go on your boat. Definitely try the blackened catfish, gator bites, the hurricanes, or mint julep.

Absolutely a wonderful place. Owner is the bomb. Works her tail off. Food is spectacular. The staff takes pride and is friendly. Hard to get in when busy but well worth your time.

Wonderful evening celebrating my husbands birthday. The blackened prime rib was exceptional, as was the duck. We have been going here for special occasions for years, but now have discovered a secret - you can eat off the bar menu out back lakeside! Have to go give that a try for a more casual dining experience

The food was delicious, the atmosphere just lovely and the view of the little island charming. Our only complaint is that the hostess was a bit rude, but all of the servers were really efficient and friendly.

It's the best up North and has been rated so.
A destination place. SUPERIOR food, Cajun and regular.
Good place for special night out. First class atmosphere, up scale. It's a class place with no room for snobbish.
Reservation required.
Recommended for that special feel good night out.
There 2 times this week. Tomato soup wife says best ever had and I agree. Strawberry soup is special.
Elegant restaurant but not pretentious.

Don't be fooled by the outside of this place. It looks like a typical lakeside bar/restaurant but it's actually a very fancy supper club. Our experience was wonderful. There's a cute little bar with delicious cocktails you'd find in New Orleans. The matriarch of the family was tending bar and was very friendly. White tablecloths and servers dressed in black uniforms. Very elegant. This is a place where dinner is served in courses. It takes a good hour and a half to eat your meal. It is pricey but totally worth it. I had the scallop special of the night and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. Everything I ate was delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is beautiful. For a special dinner this is the place to go.

Amazing fine dining in the Northeoods! Excellent cocktails, followed by great soup. Chilled strawberry soup was refreshing. Duck breast was cooked perfectly, rare in center. Service is excellent, very caring. We will return soon - highly recommended.

We went there for dinner to treat ourselves to s meal because we had been making meals at the cabin and thought we deserved a break. Wow. We had a fantastic meal for a reasonable price. The food was impeccable, the service extraordinarily crisp and friendly. Not only is this one of the best restaurants in the north woods it rivals the better restaurants in Milwaukee. We’ll go back here again and again.

***Update 8/20/2019. Just got back from Blue Bayou Inn and it was even better this visit. The food is out of this world good. If your are in the Northwoods do yourself a favor and go to this place. Can't wait to visit next year!

This was a dining experience not just dinner. The food is amazing. Nice selection with specials that the server will tell you about in detail. The wonderful lady that seated us let us know that if we had questions about the wine list (which was a great selection) she could answer them because she had tried them all. I was blown away by this restaurant. Can't wait to go back too bad it won't be until next year.

The food is outstanding. It is as close to bayou fare as you can get without going down to Louisiana, right here in N'woods. The service is always top notch. The atmosphere is awesome. I can't think of anywhere I'd rather dine than Blue Bayou for an outstanding dinner. Can't wait for my next visit. Thanks Rita, Penny, Matt and all the others that make every visit something special. Five stars!
