This is not your El Tipico experience in Toledo, Ohio! This one was unexpected and full of 💕

We stopped mid way to Columbus for dinner, and so glad we did! El Tipico is the oldest Mexican Restaurant in Toledo (56 years!) serving delicious organic food 😋❣ We received the warmest and friendliest reception from the staff and lovely owner Dina connected with Mom and we all felt and were treated like family.

Their Puff Tacos are a house specialty and a MUST. The chorizo filling is perfectly spiced and the puff taco's texture is half way between a crispy tortilla and soft, light bread!

Fantastic and authentic, still in business after 56 years you know they're doing it right. And it's organic too! The food was delicious and plentiful. The only regret I had was no margaritas, which is why I ordered queso and chips to go. I can make my own margaritas @ home. Overall a fabulous experience that must be enjoyed by everyone.

Very friendly servers and overall a great experience.

As a european, some dishes were not clear to us, so they got explained a we had a very friendly chat.

Will come again, if i happen to be in Toledo again.

The best Mexican food I've ever had, we love it here!! Everything is fresh, organic and delicious. The pizza is a must!! Great story behind this restaurant, true family values, it just doesn't get any better!!

Welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. The menu options were phenomenal. Allergy friendly, vegan friendly, meat eaters friendly, & kid friendly. To top it off...it all tasted AMAZING 🤩. Fresh & extremely authentic tasting. I've already recommended to friends and family. I will definitely be back EVERY TIME we go to the Toledo Zoo.

El Tipico is my go to Mexican restaurant because of the diverse menu. All items are organic and can be made with traditional ingredients or gluten free and vegan with excellent flavor and texture. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. Guests are treated like family. I have not had anything I've not thoroughly enjoyed. Support this amazing local business!

What an outstanding, authentic, gluten free (celiac safe) dinner. We were so warmly welcomed into this charming restaurant and made to feel like family. We had the platter so tried many items and they were all fantastic.

I am not usually a person that leaves reviews, however this restaurant and the people who work there deserve a great review. We had El Tipico cater our daughter’s wedding reception, from the moment we contacted them about catering our party they were caring, professional, and went above and beyond our expectations. From our initial contact through delivery and setup nothing could have gone as smoothly. We were very appreciative with all of their help.

Definitely my new favorite Mexican restaurant! The pork tamales are the best I've ever had. The puff tacos are a must try. The staff were all so friendly! Highly recommend. We will definitely be back!

Five Stars, Best Mexican restaurant in Toledo, Ohio! I have not found any better than El Tipico!! Food A+, Service A+, the entire staff made us feel at home! My visit their was a first time and I guarantee I will be return customer many times over! I suggest you call for reservations before you go!!

Delicious dinner! The food is fresh and excellently prepared. The best Mexican food we’ve ever had. I have celiac and they took very good care of me with all the gluten-free prep and options. Everything on the menu can be made gf. Highly recommend!!!

We have been guests at El Tipico's for over 30 years. Many of Toledo's family owned restaurants have sadly disappeared over the years. We moved away for a while and recently returned.
El Tipico's was one of the first restaurants we wanted to go back to. We were so happy to find that it was not only still in business but is truly better then it has ever been. The food, the fabulous décor and the service have been outstanding. The owner; Dina Villa, attributed a lot of the improvement in the food to switching to organic ingredients which seemed to bring back the original flavor of her families recipes. We're so glad they continue to provide such great Mexican food in this area.

We eat at El Tipico once per month. The food is fantastic!! Every meal is always fresh and tastes authentic! The best flavors are in this food. Nothing like American Mexican food which we find bland and tasteless. We normally eat in but had carryout last month. Delicious and plentiful!

So good I knocked my soda over in shock! The owner herself is usually on site, and is a friendly, engaging host. The fountain soda is made without corn syrup and is amazing. The fresh, organic food is outstanding! The only place, other than home, where I will eat enchiladas. So good, I even brought my parents here to eat!

Food is so fresh tasting and phenomenal. Service is fast and super friendly and nice.
We had a sports team there for their season kick off. 24 people with a family style dinner. Wonderful and so much fun. They bent over backwards to make it sp special.

My parents used to go here all the time before the pandemic. I never went with them, but my husband and I decided to try it tonight. Legitimately the BEST TAMALES I’ve had in the Midwest! The staff were super friendly and personable. We will definitely be coming back!

Absolutely fantastic in every single aspect!!! The service and food here is phenomenal! You won't regret it. The entire menu can be made vegan and gluten free which is a huge feat and the owner is a beautiful and very special human being. She cooks the cuisine herself and everything is made with genuine love. Wonderful, wonderful experiences here. I will seriously be driving back from NY on some upcoming weekends with this restaurant being the main focus of the trip. Perfect. And on a side note, the coffee and ice tea is just as perfect as the rest of the food! ❤

The food is always good and I’ve been coming here for many, many years. Please know this restaurant does not serve alcohol but the food is organic, fresh and always hot!

Best Mexican restaurant around hands down!!! Been in business for 56 years. Been about 25 years since I was there. It was like stepping back in time. The food? Outstanding!! And REAL MEXICAN RICE!! Not rice pilaf. If you have the chance, GO! Worth the drive from anywhere. You won't be sorry.

If you want the absolute best authentic Mexican food Toledo has to offer. Look no further. Organic ingredients, wide choice selection and great service. Multi generational local business in which the apple sure hasn't fell far from the tree. They even welcomed my Service Dog Milo, which has become a favorite customer. Every trip and meal here is a cause for much celebration.
