El Tapatio

PROPER Mexican food! Absolutely delicious, and for the portion you get the price is pretty good- $18 for a 1ftx6inch pan of Nachos with Shredded beef and all the fixins' is GREAT. My husband had the breaded fish tacos and we were both very satisfied. The chips and salsa taste like they're house-made.
The place itself is super cute and well decorated. Highly recommended!

Excellent place to dine in! Service is second to none. I compared it with Chick-fil-A service. They are so friendly and attentive. Very clean and colorful inside. Very good presentation and portions. Eduardo, server, other than handsome :) was very efficient and friendly. If you’re on your way to Utah or coming back this will be the perfect place to stop for some tasty Mexican food.

I had supper here after visiting the Colorado National Monument. It was a very hot August day but I walked next door and sat at the bar. Noah was the bartender and he quickly got me an ice cold bottle of Coors Light. I got the shredded beef burrito and it was delicious it came out hot and fast. If you are in Fruita I highly recommend this place I think four guys greeted me when I came in all very friendly and welcoming. All the employees were very nice and the food was delicious the beers were ice-cold what else could you ask for!

What an exceptional delight. We stopped to go to the nearby Colorado Welcome Center, only to note the Tapatio sign. Living in San Diego California, we're picky about good Mexican food.
Immediately walking in, we good smell that familiar Mexican food smell, that satisfies the senses. The restaurant is well decorated and might I say, charming and warm. The staff friendly. Chips and salsa were brought to the table, we knew right away that these are home made. The salsa fresh and delicious, however for us we asked for and got a hotter salsa that was green in color. Amazing flavor.
I had the taco and enchilada combo, and my wife had pork Carnitas. Just like San Diego perfection, this restaurant rocks. A great place to stop off if on your way East or West on I-70

Certainly the best Mexican sit-down service restaurant in Mesa county! It's always busy, busy never a wait! The staff is friendly and prompt. We go here often and have never been disappointed! We love the food!!! It's a place where no matter what we get, we love it. I order different items every time, and sometimes everything looks so good and I'm so hungry, I tell the server to surprise me. Amazing food! Highly recommend.

Food was hot and fresh lil pricey but it's worth it

The food is delicious with a very nice and elaborate Mexican decor inside. The plates are huge so consider sharing. Surprisingly enjoyable experience.

The food was delicious, and you better be hungry , the Portions are big ( that or I don't eat much ) very friendly, and they get busy fast .

Eat here! It's unfortunate that some may have experienced a bad time but I ate here two days in a row for supper, back to back, because it's really the best Mexican food I've had in a lot of years in Colorado. The staff is a bit awkward but only because they don't know how to take the patrons sometimes, the cultural gap in this area can be intimidating. The staff here is extremely kind and attentive if you yourself are polite and attentive, I'm very happy with the whole establishment from food to customer service, I highly recommend and I'll frequent the place any time I'm in Fruita! Take the time to stop in, the food is nothing short of amazing.

El tapatio always delivers great food! The wait staff is so friendly and helpful. Refried beans is always my test for Mexican food restaurants and their's are delicious. Yum!!

Wow! The service is excellent! The food is delicious! The quality and quantity exceeded my expectations!

I've always heard wonderful things about El Tapatio, and now that I've been, I can finally see why. When we first walked in the door, there were 3 gentlemen that immediately greeted us and made us feel welcome. We were taken to our table, and within 5 seconds later, a lovely woman brought some chips and salsa to enjoy (absolutely delicious, by the way). The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and fast. Our food arrived surprisingly quickly, and the portions are very generous. I can't wait to go back and try some more of the tasty menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Great food and service. The staff was great and we were able to dine-in by 33% rule. If your traveling through it's a great place and truly authentic Mexican food.

If fabulous authentic Mexican food is what you’re craving then I’d send you here. I only had a shrimp taco and the carnitas taco, both on corn tortillas, both were fresh and and extremely flavorful. Our server was pleasent and patient with us as the menu is huge! As plates were being delivered to surrounding tables the aromas caught our attention for sure.
My only complaint is that I’d prefer that the salsa was thicker.

We were on vacation visiting Colorado National Monument and saw this restaurant on the way in Fruita. We went at 3:30 in the afternoon and we were the only ones there (but not for long). The bathrooms were super clean and I glanced into the kitchen which was also very clean. I started out ordering a house margarita which was very good. I judge Mexican food with a Chile Relleno and he checks out the cheese enchilada. They offered a crisp version of the Chile Relleno which I had never tried, and after Carlos, our server said it was the best, I had to give it a try. It was heavenly delicious 😋 The enchiladas were a winner also! Will definitely visit this place in the future. Excellent.

I wish there were more restaurants like El Tapatio out there. Amazing food. Great service. Friendly staff.

The food was outstanding. The portions were larger than expected. Service was 5 star. They were quick and attentive. Highly recommend going here.
