We have wanted to go here for years. What a wonderful tour. Lauren was a great tour guide. My husband had to turn back and went with a different group back, but I continued on with our group. There are 880 stairs, so there is a lot of climbing up and down. The cave is beautiful. Make sure you don't bring anything that has been in a previous cave. This is to protect the bats from White Nose Syndrome. Because we like to go to caves, we always make sure we wear different shoes, etc. We even make sure the camera and/or phone go through a specific cleaning as well. They are open every day, even though the reservation system only shows the weekends. They will get that fixed, hopefully. Parking was a little tough, but doable.

Very cool cave experience. The staff were all very helpful and our tour guide was fun. The drive up is through a really pretty valley. Just some FYI...the caves are about 40 degrees and wet, so bring a jacket and good shoes. It's 444 stair steps each way and we were feeling it by the end. Worth the trip up from Bear Lake though!

Our tour guide was great. She was very enthusiastic and loved sharing her knowledge of the cave with us. I would recommend getting your tickets early in the morning. We had a two hour wait and got there right at 10am. The rock formations were fascinating. There are 444 stairs inside the cave, so come prepared with good shoes and a jacket. It is 40 degrees year round. It is a great activity to get out of the heat and see some beautiful rock formations.

Really enjoyed our tour. The view to get up here was amazing. Note however, it gets cold inside the cave around 40 degrees all year long. So do bring a sweater, a long pants and a comfortable walking shoes with a good grip because it does get very slippery. There’s also more than 800 round trip stairs, and 72 of that is a single steep climbing. Cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children. Tour takes about an hour and so much fun. You will learn a lot from the tour guides.

Cheers!

It is a beautiful cave, the tour guide was cute and a little quirky. We appreciated her understanding that children can be a bit slower and urged us to take our time and have no heart attacks. In contrast to another more famous cave where they constantly hurried and chastised us for lagging (we are a big group with lots of small kids.)

Our tour guide was very good! we took children 5 and 7 who did really well on the stairs. There are a lot of stairs! My kids wore shorts and sweaters but really wished they would have worn pants in the 40 degree cave.
There were a lot of cool formations: stalagmites, stalactites, columns, cave bacon, popcorn, and straws. As of right now masks are still required in the cave and no children under 2.
Overall it took some work on the stairs but it is worth it and I would go again!

This is pretty cool, you would never believe how amazing the inside of the cave is by looking at it from the outside; it is millions of years in the making. Take a sweatshirt, it is literally 40° inside but once you start walking, you will warm up a bit. There are 444 stairs ( so the posted sign says) that you will climb up/down so wear good shoes because some spots can get a little slick.
There is even some bacon and a glow in the dark spot, you'll love it.

These were really cool caves! Our guide was great and we learned a ton of cool things. Though you couldn't really explore since it was a guided tour. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who likes adventures. Just make sure you can climb stairs!

Here’s the deal…I’m not a fit guy…nor am I a skinny guy.

However, I remember doing these caves as a kid when I was fit. I remembered how awesome they were. Now having kids of my own, and having the opportunity to go to the caves I decided to practice.

That’s right! Every night for a couple of weeks leading up to our trip I walked up and down stairs, eventually doing 400 for the week before the trip.

Yes it’s true, there are 444 stairs down and back up on this tour!!!

I’m proud to report that I made it! And if I made it then anyone can make it! Yes the stairway to heaven was absolutely miserable on the way up, but luckily the tour guide takes plenty of breaks throughout the tour.

The caves were as amazing as I remembered as a kid! I’m so grateful that I was able to share those memories with my own children.

If you’re in bear lake, it’s definitely worth a look!

This is a great day trip for friends and family. There are a lot of stairs but it's doable for most people that don't have a disability. If you're lucky you'll get Cheyanne as your tour guide and she's a wealth of information. We had a good home through the cave and she showed us all the best things and was super friendly. They take cash and card but it's first come, first serve so get there early and be patient.

Really enjoyed this cave! I went with my husband and son. We all enjoyed it. Super easy to find parking and purchase tickets. We explored the area nearby the lower booth where you purchase tickets. There’s a bathroom near the parking lot which was convenient.
We easily found parking near the cave area up the road and waited on a bench near the entrance. Waiting area is shaded and there are restrooms there as well.
Our guide was good. Gave lots of interesting facts about the area and cave history. I highly recommend bringing a sweatshirt or jacket, as well as gloves for the icy cold hand rails you will need to maintain your balance on the slippery steps and path. I also wore a beanie which I was glad I did. I also recommend wearing hiking boots or athletic shoes with tread or grippers. I did see others wearing sandals which is not for me with the traction needed to not slip. Cave stays 40 degrees year round. So come prepared. There are snacks and drinks available for purchase at lower booth. Beautiful area and a great experience. Highly recommend.

Took my 11 year old twin daughters on the tour today and we loved it. Our guide was Cheyenne she did a fantastic job teaching our group about all the facts, history and key details of the cave. The trails/rails are very clean/sturdy so it’s natural to feel safe while hiking up and down all around. Plenty of steps and stairs so if you can’t handle that you may struggle. Im not in the best of shape and I handled it better than I figured. The experience is priceless and well worth the time and panting 😮‍💨 One thing that stood out as we discussed the cave afterwards was how both my daughters were very impressed with Cheyenne notably how great she described things with pure excitement as her passion is contagious for others on the tour. Gotta give her 👍🏼👍🏼 she definitely made our 1st experience there unforgettable.

Well worth doing if you’re in Bear Lake for a couple days.

It’s important that you haven’t been to any other caves recently and/or that you aren’t wearing any clothes that have been in another cave.

The tour takes about an hour and a half. Make sure if you get cold easily you bring a jacket. It gets chilly in there fast. Also shoes with good grip. Its always a little damp in there and some steps can be slick.

Enjoy this one, it’s a really awesome sight.

The Minnetonka Cave tour is a fun family experience. Even though it's a little remote, the drive up the mountain is beautiful and totally worth it. The tour guides are knowledgeable, kind, and funny! It was fascinating to see and learn about the different cave formations. Make sure you take a jacket and good shoes as it's cold in the cave and there really are as many stairs as they say (888!).

Fun spot to go visit. Beautiful drive up. Hike in is pretty easy but don't recomend for kids under 4. Lots of stairs, and they are slippery in some spots. Wear a sweatshirt

Cool cave, it is about 40 degrees inside so bring a jacket, even in the summer. When we went we saw a few bats on the inside of the cave, which was very cool. There were about 900 steps in the cave, and trail was sometimes slippery so proceed with caution. Very fun though and our tour guide was funny and kind.

Great cave tour. There are 444 stairs one way, so it's 888 on the way back.
Great examples of stalactites and stalagmites.
Make sure to stop at the ticket booth below the parking lot. That is where you get your tickets.
Get there early. Spots fill fast.
No outside food or drink is allowed in the cave and you have to wear masks as the bats are able to catch the virus.

Great natural cave. Guide was great but at times hard to hear. Make sure you have good shoes and a sweater because there are a lot of steps and it is 40 degrees in the cave.

Minnetonka cave is beautiful, it is short enough that you can bring the whole family but long enough that all ages will enjoy it.

This is a guided tour so you're learning the history of the cave. this cave is considered a living cave and is still growing. It even has fluorescent minerals if you bring a black light flashlight, hopefully your guide shows you this amazing effect.

One of the rocks in the cave has allowed researchers and scientists to get a good idea on how long ago our last mega quake was in the Rocky mountains.

It is worthy of it's entrance fee, and yes the cave is open during this Covid-19 outbreak, as long as you are willing to wear a mask through the tour.

I highly recommend you come to enjoy the sights and history of this place, and to imagine the wonder it may hold for future generations to come.
