This is by far my favorite place in town to get some tacos, the prices are fair and the food is addicting. I always get seasoned steak with cheese and cilantro, it’s an unbeatable combo! The staff are friendly and accommodating I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone ! Oh and the food only takes 10-15 minutes to make so I’ve never had to wait (:

Hands down the best and most authentic tacos in the area, which speaks volumes because Chambersburg has some fantastic taco restaurants downtown. This place is a cultural mecca! It is located in the back of an unassuming storefront. There is nothing glamorous to the restaurant at all, so don't let the exterior or the interior cause you to pause ordering some incredible food. All the tortillas are made fresh in the store everyday. The staff is incredibly friendly and the service is typically very fast. The prices are jaw-droppingly cheap. There hasn't been a word invented yet to speak about how good the street tacos are. I typically get either the chicken, pork, or seasoned steak. They also have barbacoa and beef tongue options. I would highly recommend the red sauce if you like spicy. While the salsa can be extremely hot the flavor is amazing. You will want to add this place on to your regular rotation of restaurants!

Amazing food! Highly recommend! They make their own tortillas which is a big deal. Everything is very fresh!

Best tacos around!

I don't get to stop in as often as I'd like, but they still have the best legit tacos around. Tacos de Carne Asada with onion and cilantro is my go to order.

My family tried this store/restaurant last month, but sure I wanted to go back again. It's the best stake taco I ever had , I know what taco taste like and I don't know what the authentic taco taste like but sure is delicious 😋

If you are looking for a simple taqueria experience this place is the place. Service is good / quick. The food was excellent as the tortillas are made right there. You can buy the tortillas there too take home and ey have that perfect flavor freshness thickness combination.

Absolutely delicious! This was maybe my wife and my favorite stop on the Chinchorreo food tour. Afterwards, we came back to get some hot sauces and snacks because everything looked amazing. Loved it.

As a chef I can honestly say this is the greatest taco shop in the area best barbacoa and asada ever and the freshest tortillas fresh picante salsa I promise these tacos are addicting! It’s also a family run business and the passion that they have for great fresh food really shows with every bite! Thanks so much for being a local gem ,I’ll always support this taco spot I highly recommend!

El Gallo is THE spot in town for tacos, burritos. Anything. Hardworking staff are polite and fast. Prices are solid. Any complaints of being dirty are subjective. It's an old building but it's not dirty at all. You see the daughters sweeping and wiping surfaces all the time.

Very fresh, authentic, and delicious. The food here is competitive with Mexican taquerias in San Diego. The salsa verde was one of the best I've ever had. The barbacoa (Mexican barbeque meat) was rich and juicy

BEST AUTHENTIC TACOS IN THE AREA!!!!! the place even feels like your stepping into a little store in Mexico. They are mainly a convenience store, but the hidden gem of the place is the little restaurant setup they have towards the back. With a kitchen and a couple booths for indoor dining. The food is always fresh and super flavorful. The kitchen is run by the family. And it's because of this, you can taste that special homemade flavor. They are mainly know for their "BOOM-BOOM" tacos. You can get them with pretty much any meat you want. (chicken, seasoned steak, beef tongue, pork) I prefer the steak. The tortillas are made fresh. The food is made right in front of you. The vegetables and other toppings are always fresh. And to top it off they have 3 salsas to choose from, all in which are homemade. Oh their prices are great. 1 taco with all the fixin’s is $2.10. I get my tacos with everything on it(meat, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, onion) I usually order 4 to 6 of them. They sell the “old-timey” glass bottles of Coke, which I always get to wash down the tacos. So yummy!!! Im about to go there now :-)

First time in and had the chicken burrito with a very fresh tortilla. Wonderful flavors, but I over did the hot sauces. Will be back!

Haven't tried everything on the menu but what I have has always turned out good. Recommend.
