Pad-Thai here is very authentic and trust me I am Thai I know it. I love Doo Dee Noodle too, feel like I was having noodle from street food in Thailand!! Thai tea is great as well better try it.

Yummy!!! I was not sure about this place but it was crazy good! Super large menu of teas and bobas, full bar and the menu was extensive on dishes! Service was adequate.. not super friendly but efficient. But the food…. Totally a win. We had everything from Thai vegetable coconut soup, papaya salad, multiple kinds of sushi rolls to chicken noodle soups.. jasmine pearl tea to milk tea.. and everything was so tasty and flavorful.

Looks a bit like a western saloon.. some decor was lovely though. Just a strange vibe.

Looking forward to returning soon!

Officially my new favorite Thai restaurant in Gainesville. They also have surprisingly good Japanese cooked dishes! Highly recommend their curries, noodle dishes, and the katsudon. The interior isn't particularly impressive, but everything we ordered came out pretty fast and flavors were on point. The Thai curries are especially impressive because they make their curry paste in house! We got takeout later on in the week to make sure it wasn't a fluke and we weren't disappointed. Service was efficient and friendly. Prices were very reasonable for generous portions and quality of food. Definitely coming back!

This place is VERY good. My girlfriend is Thai and she's been here 11 years, she said this was easily one of the most authentic places she's ever been.

We had the Thai coffee and lunch special Curry and Pad Thai.

Don't go in expecting chopsticks - Thai people mainly eat with spoons and they don't use chopsticks much at all and Don't order Thai spicy unless you're crazy! You can always ask for the spice tray to add spice if you want to.

We were only there for the soft opening but will be back asap. The place was perfect. I would not recommend sitting outside - it smells really bad and there's nothing that they can do about that.

I was pleasantly surprised and appreciate the effort they’ve put into the experience through: decor, flatware and flair from the omosake bar. But let’s get down to the food: there’s a 5-point rating scale for heat and an extensive list of Thai goodies and teas to choose from. I overheard my neighbor say “he hasn’t had flavors this quality in the States” and I may have to agree. Had the lunch menu Pad Thai, which was large enough to share for two and the perfect bite of sour, sweet, salty, and spicy. I look forward to trying the wiggly crustaceans next time!

This historic spot has been through many iterations over the years and this restaurant feels like a square peg in a round hole. But it is a delicious square peg in a cozy round hole. This amazing pan-Asian menu, with everything from sushi to curry and fried rice to their famous Doo Dee noodles, will make you look past the outdated interior and its mismatched furniture and booths. There are literally dozens of dishes that I want to try, so hopefully this iteration sticks around!

love this place they have amazing food and good service they are on the pricier side but it is worth it. Best appetizers are definitely crab rangoon and spring rolls. The best dish in my opinion is definitely pad Thai, but I also really liked the panang curry, drunken noodles, and any kind of fried rice. The picture I put is the drunken noodles which was honestly more chicken than noodles and then just a lot of veggies

Great Thai place right in downtown Gainesville. The staff is friendly and the food is awesome. It could use some updating as far as furniture and there is stuff laying around near the bathroom but the food was great. Definitely give it a try if your in the area.

The sushi menu is a little daunting but if you can find what you like you won't be disappointed. I got the garden on eden and not only was it delicious but the presentation was immaculate!

Wonderful Thai menu, that's for sure! As a lover of spicy food, I was thrilled to check it out, and it was very good.
The menu is huge, has all the Thai staples (noodles, curry, soups, salads), as well as a robust shashimi and sushi offering. The heat is well versed, from none, to Thai hot. I can recommend the Green Curry, Papaya Salad and Tom Yum soup.
There is also a robust drink menu, with "Gator" inspired cocktails, to wine, and a large sake offering (the $5.00 house sake was great for it's price).
The restaurant is intimate and classy in design, and the staff could not have been friendlier! Will definitately go again.

Better than Dragonfly. Really authentic, everyone working here is actually from Thailand. The Hamachi Kami was off the charts. Had the Orange Blossom roll, so good. Drinks are strong.

I LOVED my experience here. It's more than just the food. The moment you walk in you enter a unique establishment with a confident aesthetic. I'll be back for sure.

I really appreciated the modern feel of this restaurants and the open doors/windows alongside the seating area was really beautiful. The cocktails are unique, including ingredients like lavender and lychee. Their sushi is good and the blue rice is cool, but the Doo Dee noodles were just okay - a little plain for me. It’s also a little expensive for what you get. Overall, though, the ambience is the main factor in what makes a great experience. I would try again for sure though!

Absolutely fantastic, innovative Thai/Japanese fusion restaurant, right in the heart of downtown Gainesville. That authentic style Thai "Doo-Dee" bowl you're looking at and I happily devoured is great.

"If It Is" claims to be the first restaurant in the US to serve Doo Dee. (Stop laughing at the name, folks.) It's a unique variant of a Tom Yum style soup and noodle based dish. You get a choice of 4 or 5 different noodle types, plus protein types. I went with the seafood, which had may scallops, mussels, calamari, and a few more. Chicken, pork, tofu, beef, combos also possible.

Spice options range from "Not Spicy, Mild Spicy, Medium Spicy, Spicy, Thai Spicy." Suggest you order medium spicy if you want a moderate but noticeably spicy bite. Given the authenticity, and my "spicy but not too spicy" preference, I was overly cautious with mild spicy and will go medium spicy next time.

Meanwhile the lunch special my spouse had, in the background, is served on a plank. Wonderful Pad Thai that was very close to the style we had in Thailand rather than at many US Thai places, salad, California roll that was really a step above the usual (yes I snagged a piece), and a Miso soup.

Full sushi menu. Beyond the usual sushi, sashimi, rolls and special rolls, they also have imported or distance-sourced specials that rarely are in Japanese restaurants here. When we were there, they had actual sea eel nigiri with anago imported from Japan, not the common freshwater eel. And Giant Clam geoduck flown in from Washington State. Both were pricey, at $12.95 and $10.95 per piece, but that's reasonable given rarity here and transport. Was tempted but went with the Doo-Dee.

Very good service too.

Definitely try If It Is. We will be dining there again!

Very impressed. Really good Thai flavors with very helpful staff, based on a recent soft opening lunch experience (Thai Fried Rice, Pad Thai, Soft Shell Crab). Surprised to learn this is the first location opening in the United States. I was unfamiliar with the brand but after some quick research, the fusion-confusion aspects from decor, menu design, and food selections have to deliberate. This unpredictable dining experience (I had so many questions) adds to the charm actually, and reminded me of meals overseas.

The staff was extremely transparent about the vegetarian options. They accommodated is with our special requests without making us feel like we were a pain. We really enjoyed the food as well.

I ordered some food off grubhub and the driver canceled it for no reason. If It Is called me and told me that the food was made and they do not know why the driver canceled and drove the food out to me themselves. I do not know a single other restaurant that would do this for their customers.12/10 service. Best panang curry in Gainesville because theirs is actually spicy and doesn't have random cilantro :)
