Got a great deal on an upgrade from a Toyota Rav 4 to a Mustang convertable for only $24/day more.

I really like how convenient it is to rent an Avis car at the Pensacola Airport with the proximity to the Arrivals area. Getting to my car is quick and easy! I can bypass the counter and go right to the booth to get my keys. Cars that I have rented have been clean, updated and comfortable to drive. It is also aasy and quick to return the car when I am done. Will be using this service again in the near future.

Easy and convenient pickup and dropoff with friendly and helpful service. The rental counter is right next to the baggage claim, and the cars are a short walk away in the parking garage. I booked a minivan and got a Toyota Sienna Hybrid, which had a ton of seating and storage space and was cheap to gas up thanks to the hybrid powertrain. No surprise charges or anything. Great experience.

My experience with Avis has always been wonderful, I would give a “10” rating every time. However, this recent experience missed the mark.

I received my rental car at PNS and the first hiccup was that my car was not in the spot that I was told it would be in. This wasn’t a big deal since the panic button works well and I located the car in no time.

However, what is pushing me to leave negative feedback is that I was given the wrong car somehow. It was quite the surprise because I had not been contacted by Avis directly (or maybe they did but didn’t leave a message?) and instead, the host of my AirBnb was notified and had to get involved. What’s worse is that no one noticed until August 31st, when I woke up to find texts and calls from my host regarding the car situation. An Avis employee was outside my Airbnb waiting for me, where he informed me of the mistake and that I needed to return the car and exchange it for the original car on the reservation. I did ask if it needed to be done immediately, and while they said no, I couldn’t reasonably cancel any of my other plans without drastically ruining my schedule.

On August 31st that same day, I cleared my schedule so I could exchange the car. It was disappointing to find that I didn’t have to exchange it after all, and just needed the contract reprinted. I wish I would have received accurate information and not wasted my day because I wasn’t sure what to expect. I would have appreciated knowing that it was that simple.

The ideal outcome to make this right is to receive a credit applied for future use, but of course, I would understand if that is not a feasible request considering my delayed review.
UPDATE: Avis reached out and gave me a credit for a one day rental, so I am pleased with the customer service, they did their best to make it right. I changed my rating to five stars.

To clarify, the staff here is very friendly; the cars are well-maintained and clean. I have zero issues with customer service, but this was a definite fail.

My experience with Avis is just wonderful. I first rented a SUV in Atlanta airport and they upgraded me automatically to an almost new 7-seat vehicle which is exactly what we need. And then when I landed at Destin airport without a reservation, they are the only car rental company who provides an affordable availability. Then on the return day, my husband found that our departure flight is actually from PNS which is 1.5 hours away from the Destin airport. I called and someone over the phone immediately changed my return airport to PNS without any extra charge. I can’t be happier with Avis and highly recommend them to anyone!

No lines! Super customer service! Upgraded for free to a larger SUV. Drop off was quick and easy (thank you Cathy!). Would not hesitate to use Avis in the future ...all around great experience!

The Avis rental process was easy. With preferred status, the rental vehicle is ready for you upon arrival. There was no waiting in line and the reps were friendly.

I've always have and had a pleasant experience with Avis. However, on this particular trip, for the first time ever, at check-in, the fuel level was off by .6 (6/10)of a gallon based on fuel out vs. fuel in and therefore I was charged $2.59 (based on Avis' $4.31/gal. charge) to make up the difference. The fuel gauge showed "F" and passed the line. I will continue to value and use Avis for future trips but I considered this unacceptable for a reliable and steady customer.

Very good experience from reservation to pick up the car, until return. Returned the car after hours, no issues, very well explained how to proceed with return in the absence of staff.

We had an unexpected last minute trip to Pensacola and used Avis to rent a car. We ended up renting three different cars because of crazy flight cancellations— we interacted with the preferred member staff. This crew at this Avis were beyond funny, kind and helpful. Every interaction I had went as well as they could do. Especially our last minute rental (again) last night where the evening staff was so nice and helpful. The manager Lloyd went beyond. As did the the man at the desk. They’re funny, straight forward, but so nice and helpful. Thanks for the service.
And that Tesla was so much fun to drive.

Jacob at the PNS airport location was amazing. The customer service that I received (especially considering being located in the airport) was above and beyond!

Avis saved our butts. We had originally booked with enterprise and after some late delays they left for the night, but the Avis guy (Jacob if I recall correctly) stayed until 3 am for the last flight and was able to get us into the perfect car. Would definitely recommend using Avis when coming into PNS

No hassle experience. We arrived around our pickup time, went straight out to the garage where I showed my ID and keys were waiting. The attendant verified my ID, handed me the keys, and directed me to the vehicle. The vehicle was a perfect match for our needs and showed up on my Avis Preferred app. We loaded up and exited without an issue. When we returned the vehicle, it was a very simple process and went on to our gate.

We liked the Preferred service to reduce our wait time to get the car. The rental car was clean and function well. The drop off personnel was extremely helpful with our question at the FL airport.
