How this place doesn’t have more reviews confounds me. I moved to Delray in January and just visited here. It’s small. Definitely small. But there’s a lot of interesting art, it’s free(!), they have fun workshops on the weekends, and the front desk woman is extremely knowledgeable.

She was telling us about how Spady was located in one of Delray’s historical districts which was neat info. I wonder if there’s any books on the topic!

I’ve attached some pics. Not everything so that I don’t spoil it. They change their installations 4-6 times a year and you can follow them on Facebook and iG

Docent tours are a fee but admission is freee

Very interesting to learn the history of the Spady House and surrounding Delray area. Ms Janice, our guide was very hospitable and knowledgeable. The exhibits, especially the videos and hearing first hand from those that lived it was very inciteful. I highly recommend this little bit of history in the heart of Delray.

I very much enjoyed the 2023 Kwanzaa celebration here. It was my very first visit, but I'm sure it won't be my last.

This is an historical house!! There is so much information you can learn about here and they have different themes. If you want to know the real stories about the area and Palm Beach County. It’s deeper than you think!!

Four of us from FUMC in Boca Raton had a guided tour of the museum today. It was very interesting and we look forward to going back and hearing/learning more history! Thank you for this wonderful experience.

We made reservations since we had a group and wanted the guided tour.

Great little museum. There's a First Friday Art Walk and in November, excited about the "Soul of Langston" poetry reading.

What a great place to see and learn about history! The people that work there are so polite and welcoming. The museum itself is a original built home and there are displays with printed information describing what you're looking at. I recommend stopping by for sure!

Took a tour of the museum today and got to spend some time listening to Charlene- museum director. It's a beautiful and inspirational place that everyone should see and Charlene is one of these people who you just want to listen to and be around. She fights for a great cause and I feel like her stories were very eye opening. Highly recommend to visit this place and participate in events they organize.

I just went recently as part of field trip for my class and I enjoyed the museum. It’s a small museum, so it should be only a 10-15 minute event but I really learned more about the African/Caribbean culture and it’s influence in Delray Beach. The museum is truly advocating for cultural diversity and informing the public about the black experience in America.

Beautiful morning viewing an exhibit of portraits of resilient women! The photographer captures the essence of each woman in such an arresting and amazing manner! We meet the founder of the museum quiet by chance, a very charming woman, and curator of the museum. We engaged in thoughtful and affirming conversation that made this such a fulfilling visit with many more to come!

People of color have lived in & participated in American communities since before the States were United in 1776. However, their contributions have been overlooked more often than not. The Spady Museum addresses this oversight by revealing the history of the Delray & South Palm Beach County communities of color since their inception.
