Lovely old hotel with a great restaurant. Food and service excellent. Live music on Friday. Right on the Mississippi.

Love the old, beautiful atmosphere of this hotel/restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly bartender as soon as we walked through the door! Absolutely beautiful views of the lake and barges traveling through. If you're a meat lover, the bangers and mash are totally on point!

We stayed in the willow suite which had a great jacuzzi tub and fireplace. Beautiful view of the river as well. We also had dinner. The walleye platter with golden potatoes was fabulous! The chicken pot pie is one of the best I've had...that crust was flaky and so tender! We also had the Flatbread which was great too! Top this off with delicious fashioneds and amazing service! I can't wait to go back to this hidden gem at the historic Trempeleau hotel!!!!

This restaurant is definitely a “destination” for dinner. A little expensive but worth every penny. Had an absolutely superb pork chop with braised brussel sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes. The chicken pot pie was done to perfection with a flaky crust top. Our dinner was preceded by a stupendous flat bread appetizer.
We did not have any dessert since we were full, but the desserts looked out of this world and the recipients reaction to their first bite was priceless. You won’t want to miss a chance to eat here if you have the opportunity. Staff were great and the whole place was very clean.
We will be back with out-of-state company as we show them some of Wisconsin’s finest.

Love this place so much!

Right off the bike trail in historic downtown Trempealeau, if you’re looking for a come-as-you-are atmosphere with an elevated menu, this is your place!

We used to get Broach’s rendition of the famous Walnut burger in Madison, and the original knocked our socks off. Aside from this mainstay, they also offer inventive and seasonal (rotating) items. One we hope to see a return on was the sweet corn creme brulee. I still dream about it!

If you love good food, this is your place.

Atmosphere, charm, amazing staff and owners describe our dinner and time spent at the Trempealeau Hotel Restaurant. The menu changes daily based on the catch. I had wild Catfish which was caught that morning and my fiancee had pulled pork which were both incredible. The old fashioneds were delightful as well

We stop in here for lunch, we had the Mussels and Burger! Both were amazing! Beautiful view while we ate and enjoyed a beer and hard cider. The atmosphere was breathtaking and the service was outstanding! We are from Texas and find the people just welcoming and gracious. Will be back!

Tremendous experience - beautiful location, great menu and staff always ready to help. I would highly suggest anything walnut burger related. Super tasty!! Grab a drink, order some food and then head for the porch to view the Mississippi while you are waiting for your order. Very comfortable restaurant with fantastic views

Always a nice place to stop on a Sunday drive. Friendly and welcoming. A little too hot for me sit outside, but lots of room outside to enjoy the sun!

My husband and I went here over the weekend. Definitely one of the best meals I've ever had! The service was great and the food was even better. We tried the Walnut Balls and they were pretty good. It was like walnuts and stuffing formed into a ball. The homemade honey mustard that came with them was amazing. I also had the chicken and rice soup and it was delicious. For my entree, I had the shrimp and gnocchi and I am still telling my husband about how fabulous it was. He ordered the meatloaf and I tried some and I couldn't decide which dish was better! I have nothing bad to say about this place and if I am ever in Trempealeau again, I know where I am going to eat.

Really great food and beer, especially for such a small town. The view from the deck can’t be beat! A great place too for kids to run around, including a basketball court to keep them occupied while parents enjoy a beverage and conversation. 😎

Today was our second visit to the Trempealeau restaurant and it was at the request of my 7-year old who still remembered the last visit fondly (the last visit was 2 years ago!!). We are vegetarians and ordered these:
Appetizers - the hummus platter and the pesto flat bread
Main course - walnut burger lasagna and the walnut burger itself.
Dessert - cheesecake.
The appetizers were both good, but the hummus was especially tasty. The lasagna was delicious. The cheesecake was yummy. My only wish is I hope they'd add some heat/spice to their food. The service was quick and friendly.

We loved the view both times and our kids love that a train can pass by at any moment. We'll be back for sure :)

Cool atmosphere, friendly staff. Came for a music event, got a 1919 root beer on tap in a frosted mug. Very good. Keep in mind there is a $10 minimum for card purchases.

Went there for supper with the family the other night. Had a great meal. I had the catfish and would recommend it to anyone. Was able to go down on the boat from Winona and docked at the marina.

Whether looking for a low key lunch after a sweaty bike ride or a fancy dinner date, the Hotel always welcomes with open arms. The bluff views are second to none while the atmosphere has authentic river charm. The farm to table fare ranges from comfort classics to adventurous. Recently I had octopus leg for the first time and it was really amazing. Who knew? Chef Gavin did. The meatloaf is the best I've ever had (sorry mom), and the Guinness chocolate cake is beyond decadent! The wine options are obviously selected with great care. You won't find any at the super market and there's always an interesting glass to try. Wonderful experience all around!

Classic atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating, beautifully situated in downtown Trempealeau with river views. Friendly staff and owners, great seasonal, fresh food. Good variety of beers (6-7 taps) and full bar.

Walnut burger - we drove from Minneapolis just to enjoy this and came back two nights in a row just to get seconds. Their food is incredibly fresh supporting local farms and common basics at their core in really tasty combinations. You cannot beat the scenic view of the Mississippi. The vibe is so relaxed and worth a stop just to enjoy an old fashioned on the porch. This is a travel must if you are exploring the Great River Road.
