River Edge Inn

Exactly what you'd expect from a small, locally owned motel in a sleepy little beach town. Right on the beach, with friendly, helpful staff, free breakfast, and a pool if the jellyfish are in. It's a little old but it's clear the new owners are working to slowly turn everything over. Fridge and microwave in room was a huge bonus for our family.

An overall good experience. We were given a clean and quite big room with a nice bathroom. Beds were 2x queen-size and comfortable. Staff was really friendly and the breakfast was at good standard without highlights. Nice Thai restaurant round the corner.

We would book again. Thanks a lot!

We stayed there last week and I must say I recommend this Inn to everyone. It's clean and quiet.The new ownership is wonderful. We will definitely visit again.

Loved this hotel!! They are right on the beach and their rooms are quite spacious and have mini-fridges and microwaves!

All guests have free parking and the front staff are extremely nice and helpful! What I loved most about this stay was the check in and check out times. You can arrive as early as 3:00PM and check out isn't until 11:00AM!

Stayed there back in June. The place was really nice and staff was super friendly. They even called to check on us when we were approaching our arrival time. They knew we were traveling through a terrible storm for the length of our trip and said some one would be waiting for us. The beach was super close to the hotel with plenty of other beaches close by. Great stay and the kids can’t wait to come back!

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and love this place even more now. Rooms were clean, pool is PERFECT and the upgrades the owner has done make this place a great place to stay. The breakfast is amazing and the friendly owner who works hard to monitor everything makes me want to keep coming back and we will.

Stayed for two nights. One of the nicest motels I have EVER stayed in. It's right by the beach, has a pool, free breakfast with tons of choices, micro wave, fridge, large rooms, comfortable beds, picnic tables in front of every room, parking right in front of your room, free bag of ice, great location, very friendly people stay there, very clean room, no carpeting, nice hardwood floors. Please tip housekeeping they work very hard all day long in this heat to keep your room in tip top shape. I can't say enough about this motel. Just wish there were more things to do in CB.

Colonial Beach is a wonderful spot to get away that is close to home and feels much like a beach. It is clean with trollies, child friendly and pet friendly with dog parks located right on the beach. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a fairly private place to relax with warm friendly people.

Just made reservations for New Years Eve, haven't stayed there yet. It looks really nice from the out side and is right on the water. Everyone seems yo be really friendly and that always adds a lot to your stay. Will review again after we stay there.

This was my first visit to Colonial Beach and staying at the River Edge. The location is perfect. Our room was very nice and clean. Really enjoyed the pool! Had a wonderful continental breakfast. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. I will certainly stay here on my next visit and highly recommend them!

I arrived to be Greeted by a smiling face.Room was very clean and cool.Property is well maintained.Pool was nice And clean.You are within feet from the beach and board walk.It was a Pleasure to stay there. Rent a golf cart near by and enjoy.I highly recommend this place.

A while back my brother and his wife my sister and her husband and myself stayed at River Edge Inn. from the start they just made you feel at home. It was definitely a good atmosphere. It was quiet relaxing. The whole family was just so welcoming to us. I would recommend this place to anyone. I'm gonna take my son and granddaughter back this summer.

This my third time visiting this place I love it so calming and beautiful view and close to the beach and to all restaurants. The customer service is great. I will be back soon. Thank you guys keep doing the great job. And thank you for everyone helped me from checking in and out. And jennis that was taking care of my room was so nice and polite with great beautiful energy .

This was my husband and myself first time here on Colonial Beach. We had a very nice time. Although not much around is open yet due to the season and Covid-19.
Our room was really clean and nice. We really enjoyed the table outside of our room for a morning coffee or continental breakfast each morning from 6:30 - 9:30 a.m. checkout is 11 a.m.
We were able to go see the Washington Memorial Park (free admission)
The one draw back that we found. Those who like to eat seafood. There's one place at the boardwalk that will open soon. Other then the one seafood restaurant on the boardwalk. You will have to travel 30 minutes to find another. It is worth the drive and stay. We hope you enjoyed our pictures and will think about the short trip from Richmond to Colonial Beach ⛱ only a 1½ hour drive.

We have stayed here many times over the years..rooms are alway in tip top shape..comfortable beds, restaurants within a SHORT walk. Everyone friendly. They do have a few pet friendly rooms which our dog felt right at home . Love the tables outside of every bottom floor room. We shall return.

I really liked this hotel because of the views. You can see the small beach once you step outside and it really is very beautiful. There is plenty of room to park and they also offer small breakfast in the lobby every morning. They also have a little dine-in room in the lobby with a big TV that you can sit in and chill. The rooms are pretty decent, no complaints there. Great hotel overall and the staff is very friendly. Laundry room accommodates one person at s time and costs $4 in total (both washer and dryer).

My boyfriend and I had a great time this past weekend. Michelle, the owner, was an absolute sweetheart. The hotel is right on the beach. The hotel was clean and the beds were great. The staff was kind and had the best recommendations about where to go for lunch, drinks, dinner and breakfast. They also had a beautiful pool and an area to grill out. We were so glad we stayed here and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Great place to stay. Clean, quiet rooms with wonderful customer service. Only hotel I stay in while in Colonial Beach. Highly recommend.
